True Love Never Dies

Leaving Everything Behind.

Janey’s POV.
While Ryan was driving me home, he was completely silent in the car. I had a feeling that he was thinking about why i didn't tell him about me knowing Jana.

Janey says, “i know it bothers you. You can just ask me Ryan.”

Ryan asks while driving, “why didn't you tell me that you were related to Jana?”

“I was going to tell you with Jana but i felt like telling your mother first was necessary. I don't want any misunderstandings from her.” Janey says.

“Is everyone afraid of my mom?” Ryan asks.

Janey says, “from what heard, she can be very scary. Look what she did to Jana.”

Ryan asks, “so Jana was the one who brought you over here?”

“I told her how much i wanted to come to America to work because i have higher chance in finding a job. So she arranged the papers for me to come here. It took about a year for everything to process. And it went through successfully.” Janey explains.

“What about your parents and siblings?” Ryan asks.

Janey says, “my parents are fine where they are and they really want me to go to the states to work. My younger brothers are still going to school and working. One of them are in Korea and the other in Vietnam.”

Janey continues to say, “you know. Jana was going to introduce me to you later but we had already met each other before then.”

“It sounds like fate”, Ryan laughs & says.

“It is fate Ryan”, Janey smiles & says.

Ryan says, “from now on, there is no more secrets between us.”

Janey says in Korean, “i understand.”

[7:00pm]

Shaun’s POV.
Jana went to see her mom at her house downtown. She was going to meet me at Ryan’s house in little bit.

Jana’s POV.
I drove to my mom’s house to talk to her. I went into the house to see my mom sitting on the couch sewing something while watching TV. I sat next to her and see what was going on with her.

“Mom. are you alright? Where’s Nathan?” Jana asks as she sits down next to her mom on the couch.

“That’s what i wanted to talk to you about”, Tammy says putting down her sewing kit.

Jana says, “whatever it is, i’m here for you.”

Tammy takes a deep breath & says, “me and Nathan are divorced. He moved out three weeks ago.”

“Weren't you two happy with each other? What happened?” Jana asks after getting worried.

“We fought over the stupidest things ever since we got married and it came to that point in our life that we don't want to deal with it anymore. We figure we can't be happy this way. So we ended it.” Tammy explains.

Jana says, “this is your second divorce mom. I think it's time for you to stop everything you're doing and focus on us. I mean, i’m almost getting married to Shaun in a few months and we could really need you by our side now.”

Tammy says, “i think Buddha would want me to be alone now.”

“But your not alone. You have us ; me, Jay, Annette, and your soon to be son-in-law Shaun.” Jana says.

“I thought when grandma left us, you’d be okay. But now that this happened, i can’t ever let you be alone in this house. I want you to come live with me and Shaun. We’re currently living in a two bedroom apartment but once we’re married, we’ll buy a bigger house for all of us to live in. i promise mom.” Jana explains.

Tammy smiles & says, “honestly, i don't want to live here anymore. There are just so many bad memories with him here that i want to forget.”

Jana smiles & says, “good. I’ll put the house up for sale. You start packing your things and i’ll come pick you up tonight after i get back from Ryan’s house.”

“Thank you Jana”, Tammy says hugging her daughter.

“Anything for you mom”, Jana says while hugging her mom.
