One Thing After Another

I had been studying during their interview as well because I had so much homework. But as soon as it was over, the atmosphere of the interview set and backstage was scarily silence. I headed back to the dressing room with my books in my arms, seeing only a few people around making me even more nervous. Before the interview the hallway was filled with people chatting and talking. Reaching for the handle of the dressing room as I got there, I heard voices bickering in the room. So I paused.
“Soonyoung-ah. What was that? You weren’t going to tell us this beforehand? Or off camera maybe?!” I heard Dohyun’s voice shout from behind the door. I paused continuing to listen to the criticising and bad words Dohyun was saying to Hoshi, and I gripped down on the handle. Suddenly someone grabbed my wrist and started pulling me down the corridor. Seeing only his back I could see it was Dino. Leading us to a quieter, dim corridor. As we pulled around the the corner into the corridor, I pushed Dino’s hand holding my wrist away.
“Channie, I need to go in there. Hoshi doesn’t deserve that! I’m a manager as well,” I said looking at his worried, furrowed eyebrows. I headed around the corner to walk back to the dressing room, when Dino’s arm pulled me by my waist back into the shadow of the little side corridor. Pulling me so strongly, our bodies met each other, my hands falling defensively onto what was in front of me. Which was Dino’s chest. I looked up into his eyes, which was a mistake. Feeling my heartbeat race so quickly, and feeling Dino’s heart thump just as quickly against mine, made my cheeks light up in pink. I pushed his chest away feeling awkwardly nervous all of a sudden.
“Sorry… I'm just worried that Soonyoung hyung wouldn’t want you to hear all that.” Dino said looking down at his feet apologetically. I sighed looking down as well, feeling sorry for pushing him. "He thinks very highly of you, you know that?” I looked back at Dino for confirmation. Me? Why would Hoshi see me as anything more than a manager? I paused to think. What was going on that I couldn’t hear or know about? I was a manager just as much as Dohyun was. Was this about what Jun and Mingyu were saying earlier in the dressing room?
“I heard some of that conversation back there. What was that all about?” I asked cautiously, looking at Dino worried of the answer. His anxious look and sigh made my stomach sit uncomfortably.
“Follow me,” he replied gesturing me to follow him to the end of the small corridor where a little double seat sat. The light of the window above it the only light within the corridor, burning bright light into the seat. Dino patted the seat next to him and I sat down with heavy thoughts. He brought out his phone from his pant’s pocket and started a video. I leant in towards his phone and our sides touched, seeing Seventeen in the show they’d just filmed.

“So I know everyone probably asks you, but I can’t help myself! Have any of you boys ever been in a relationship before?” The main male host asks the boys with a cheeky smile. The audience “woo”ing a little at the topic being brought up.
“Omo, they seem too young to have been in relationship! Have any of you?” The female host next to him looks a little shocked by the question by never the less, goes with asking the boys as well.
Seventeen look at each other, a few of the boys nodded and most of the boys shaking their heads.
“What about instead… have any of you boys got a lady in mind?” The male host changes the question slightly, hoping for a more interesting answer as I could tell. I looked up from the screen at Dino, already slightly aware of where this conversation could be going.
The audience “woo”ed once again as the boys laughed a little at the situation.
“Oh! Are Hoshi’s cheeks brightening or is it just me?” The female host spotted Hoshi and the camera switched to a close up of Hoshi. His cheeks really were a little brighter. The boys around him, turning to him in surprise. Hoshi laughed a little at the statement, not denying it.
“Yeah, you could say there’s someone,” Hoshi nodded to himself still smiling giddily. I was only watching the video but my heart almost stopped. How could he say that without warning? I understand he has the right to like someone but there could be a huge uproar in the media. The audience both excited about the news clapping, and also curious as to what he really meant by that, whispering among themselves.
“Why do the members looked so shocked?” The female host asked.
“None of the members have heard of this before?” The male host questioned the rest of the boys. The boys looked around a little baffled. Some laughing awkwardly at the statement Hoshi made. Dino then paused the video, pressing the home button on his smartphone.
“There's already been articles released about his supposed ‘love’,” Dino said opening up another app, scrolling through a couple of titles with Hoshi’s name in it. I looked at him worried. “Why did he suddenly say that? I mean who could possibly be worth all the media pressure just to say on a show that you like them.”
"You, apparently."

This chapter is a bit shorter than the others, I realise ToT
But to make up for that, I'll upload the next chapter soon!
Hope you enjoy and understand the story so far. With time on my hands I'm trying to make this story my priority atm (hope it shows)
