Talking It Out.
I went with Andrew, Joon, Alex, Skye, and Joyce. Alex drove his Tesla while Andrew was in the front seat navigating to our stops. Me and Joyce sat in the middle while Joon and Skye sat in the very back of the car. The car was so silent and Alex tried to break the silence by asking me how i was doing with life which made everyone look at us in suspicions.
“So how are you Jana?” Alex asks politely in Korean while driving to our first destination.
“Same as usual”, Jana says.
Andrew pokes in & says in his tone in Korean, “lies. She has more problems to deal with than everyone here.”
Alex asks Andrew trying to understand what is going on, “what are you talking about?”
“Yeah Jana. why don't you tell us about Shaun’s mom.” Andrew says calmly in the front seat.
“I really don't want to talk about that right now. Can't we just do service?” Jana says & asks trying to forget about the problem.
Sky says in the back seat, “well, now i'm curious.”
Joon asks Jana, “what is this about Jana?”
“I went to meet Shaun’s mom during my lunch break yesterday and Andrew here happened to be there after i was done talking to her”, Jana explains.
“What were you doing talking to Shaun's mom?” Joyce asks curiously.
Jana says, “she asked me to come meet her. She made a deal with me.”
Alex asks, “what deal?”
“Yeah Jana. Tell us what the deal was.” Andrew says with his arms crossed.
“I'm going to kill you when we get out of this car”, Jana leans in to Andrew & whispers to him.
Andrew whispered back using God as his defender, “it's a sin.”
Jana says, “you know what i mean.”
“Anyways. She said that if i don't break up with Shaun then she’ll take everything that i have. She's going to tell people to cancel my grant for the new academy i wanted to built. And that she was going to do more damage to my family.” Jana explains.
“She’s threatening you Jana”, Alex says.
Joyce asks, “so what are you going to do Jana?”
Jana says, “i'm not choosing between my work and Shaun but i might have to. It's the only way to make his mom happy and everyone around me safe.”
“What did your mom say about it?” Joon asks from the backseat.
“She knows what's going on and she wants me to be happy in whatever i decide to do”, Jana says.
Joyce says, “i think you should follow your heart Jana.”
Joyce’s POV.
I held onto Jana’s hands to make her feel better. I see her looking out of the window trying to figure out what to do. Then i see Alex looking through the rearview mirror at Jana to see if she's alright. I can tell Alex cares for Jana but i think he knows she loves Shaun a lot. Is she going to make the right decision?
Jana’s POV.
Service took two hours and we drove back to the Kingdom Hall to meet everyone there. I see Joon walking up to Jaelynn who were talking to some younger friends in a group. He pulls her to the side to talk.
Joon asks, “can we talk now?”
“I’m still mad at you Joon”, Jaelynn says with her arms crossed avoiding eye contact.
“I know you are and i'm sorry for not letting you speak”, Joon apologizes.
Jaelynn asks, “are you willing to hear what i have to say now?”
Joon smiles & says, “of course.”
“I was a bit confused when you asked me to marry you. I'm not ready to take that step in my life yet Joon and you have to understand that. I'm still in school and I have a lot going on in my life.” Jaelynn explains.
“And when you asked me to move in with you, i was excited because i had news to share with you.” Jaelynn continues to say.
Joon asks not knowing anything, “what news?”
Jaelynn says, “as you know im graduating in a few months and moving out of my apartment in San Francisco. I decided to move back here and go to graduate school at UCLA. before you asked me to move in with you, i talked to Joyce and she had said she was going to help me look for an apartment here.”
“But you changed your mind after i asked you and you wanted to move in with me?” Joon asks.
“Yeah. i wouldn't have any other way.” Jaelynn smiles & says.
Joon smiles & says, “then let's do that.”
I see Joon and Jaelynn hugging each other so that means they made up.
