*Jungkook POV *
We were still quiet looking out to the ocean, “Hayoon…” I should just get this over with, “I never got a chance to properly apologi--,” “It’s okay Jeongguk,” she weakly smiles at me, “That was…a long time ago, I’m passed it.” She sighs and chuckles, “We were just…kids thinking we were in love, right? Well I know I did.” I look down at my hands, I’m pretty speechless right now, “I just…needed you back then Jeongguk, I had no sense of directions in life and…just…everything sucked,” she pulled a piece of her now long hair behind her ear, “I guess I was depending on you a lot, that was my fault and I’m sorry.”
She looks at me with sincere eyes and gave me the angelic smiled that I once loved, “So how’s your life now?” I asked, “Amazing. I’m…I’m finally getting out of here,” “Oh?!” “Yeah, I just finished a nursing program here and going to South American to work as an RN, I’m a traveling nurse.” She gleams, “That’s so awesome to hear, when are you leaving?” “In a week, I’m excited,” I’ m honestly so happy for her, I know how much she always wanted to leave this town and now she finally has a chance to. She gets up and brushed the dirt off from the back of her pants, “I really should get going Jeongguk, my boyfriend and I need to start packing,”
“Boyfriend?” I look up at her, “Ah, yeah, he’s a nurse as well and we’re going there together.” I nodded my head, “I’m happy for you.” Before she turns to walk away she looks back at me smiling, “Thank you Jeongguk for being a part of my life, I truly…hope and wish you and your girlfriend a happy life.”
*Flashback *
Agust D and I became really close, my album that he produced became a hit, I honestly can’t believe it, he’s like a music god. We were on sitting on the piano bench trying to create a new single for my next comeback, “I feel like this song is going to be depressing,” I laugh as he was playing the slow melody.
“You need new material, can’t always sing happy songs.” His hands bounce around the keys, the melody was beautiful. “I don’t think I’ve ever been depressed before, well not that I’m aware of.” I look over at him, he continues to play and then stops. He took out a cigarette and put it between his lips lighting it, “Ugh, c’mon hyung not in here,” I waved at him, he chuckles and gets up walking over to the couch in the music room and lays down.
“Hyung? You ever been depressed before?” I rested my head on my palm, he deeply inhaled his cigarette, not saying anything for a minute. “Depression exists without you knowing it,” he blows smoke above his head, “It takes you awhile to realize it.” “So…you have?” he slowly turns his head to look at me still laying on the couch, “I have.”
“Really? What were you depressed about?” He turns his head back up to look at the ceiling and inhales his cigarette, “A lot of things, pretty much the journey on how I got here.” I leaned towards him on the piano bench, “For real?” he sits up to put the cigarette out, “Yeah kid, I’m not going to go into it,” “O-oh, y-yeah, right.” He gets up and walks over to the piano sitting next to me again. He began to play the same melody but then abruptly stopped, "What's wrong hyung?" He lightly chuckles looking down at his hands, "Her birthday is in a few days..."
"Whose?"
"Ah, no one."
