Chapter 29
*Jungkook’s POV*
I pulled up to Yuna’s apartment ready for our little date tonight, I’m honestly so excited to see her and spend time with her. I haven’t really hung out with her since our trip last month, I really missed her. I phoned Yuna hoping she would answer this time but, no. She hasn’t’ return any of my calls or text, I wonder if she forgot or is asleep. I put on my mask, sunglasses, and hat and walked up to her apartment.
I ranged her doorbell, really eager to see her, I ranged it again feeling like no one was going to answer, is she there? “Hold on!” I heard a voice from the other side, the door opened and it was Minyong, she looked startled to see me, “Minyong, hey,” I smiled, “Uh, hey Jungkook,” she adverted my eyes pushing her glasses up from the bridge of her nose, “Is Yuna around? We uh, kinda have a date.”
She bit her lip not saying anything, I waved in her face trying to get her to pay attention, “Ah Jungkook just…come in.” she says in a distressed tone. She leads me in, I was hoping to see Yuna passed out on the couch or something but she led me in front of the closed bathroom door, she turns around to look at me, “Yuna isn’t really feeling…well.” “Oh? Is she sick or something?” I pulled my mask down and took my hat off, she slowly shook her head and opened the door for me.
I walked in and saw Yuna sitting on the floor with her back against the bathtub resting her chin on her knees, “Y-Yuna,” I softly say looking at her, she seems like she was in a trance, I don’t think she notices I’m in the bathroom with her.
I crouched down beside her gently touching her shoulder, “Jagiya,” her eyes slowly shift towards me, it looked like she’s been crying, what is going on? “Are you okay?”
Her lips quivered and next thing I know, I felt my world suddenly changing…all too fast.
*Yuna’s POV *
Minyong and I sat inside my doctor’s office waiting for my results, I mean, I already know the answer, I just want to hear it from a professional. The day I found out, I didn’t want to believe, it couldn’t be right, but Minyong went out to buy me 7 different tests and they all came back with the same answer.
“It’s going to be okay Yuna,” Minyong touched my arm, I could see the exhaustion on her face, she has been staying up almost all night with me to make sure I was okay. “Ms. Kang,” My doctor walks in, I sat up straight in my chair ready for whatever she was about to tell me. “Ms. Kang, you are…indeed pregnant.” Everything was numb.
“You are 5 weeks today,” I said nothing and just looked down at the floor, “…was this pregnancy planned?” she asked sitting in her chair, “Uh…not really, no.” I answered feeling a bit ashamed, “ah, I see, did you use any protection?” “We did, only condoms, I wasn’t on birth control or anything,” I muttered. She nods her head and was writing something down on her clipboard, “I see, well condoms are only 85% effective, it may have ripped, it happened to a lot of my patients you’re not the only one.”
Thanks that made me feel better, I thought to myself sarcastically, “So doc, when is her due date?” Minyong asked glancing over at me, “Well her last period was towards the end of May…sooo,…” she got out a pregnancy wheel and started counting, “I would say the end of next February, estimating February 26.”
This is all too much, it doesn’t even feel real. “I just assigned you to your OB/GYN she will be the one taking care of you and your little one that’s growing inside.” She smiles, “She will be able to answer all your questions and help you, she will also put you in some classes like childbirth, parenting etc. it will be great for you and your partner.”
Partner? Jungkook? All of that is…impossible. I’ve been pretty much been avoiding Jungkook since I saw him that day and told him, I remember his face, how he was so calm about it, calm but with a hint of fear.
