The Missing Piece

Bailee’s POV.
We walked back to the hotel together holding each other side by side. We weren’t going to be separated ever again and we best friends forever. We promised to tell each other everything and anything. While i was at one of the desk checking my emails and such, Jana were in the bathroom getting ready for the night out. After a while being in there, she came out of the bathroom wearing black halter crop top that exposed her shoulders, white high waisted skirt with a gold belt, a medium length triangle necklace, loose wavy curls, black stiletto heels, pinkish purple makeup look.

When Jana came out of the bathroom, the three of us looked at her with starry eyes. We were amazed of how pretty she looked in a high waisted skirt, nothing she had wore before. Then it was Payton’s turn. She took another shower and gotten ready. She came out of the bathroom wearing black strappy bra like top that showed cleavage, folded burgundy skirt, black strappy heels. Payton hadn't done her make up yet because she wanted Jana to do it. Payton wasn't very fluent in make up and she was just learning how to do nice make up. So Payton sat in front of Jana and did her makeup in 10 minutes. She looked so pretty with makeup on, fake lashes and everything.

Then it was my turn to go into the bathroom to get ready. I was in there for a good 20 minutes. The reason why i took long was because i wanted to see if i still fit my dress from a banquet i wore not too long ago. I tried it on and thank goodness it still fits. I wore a dress with glitter halter top and a black chiffon skirt at the bottom, hair curled half done, black stiletto heels, and dark glitter make up.

As i came out, the girls were looking at me like they have never seen me wear something so elegant before. I smiled at them and slowly cat walked to my suitcase. Lastly it was Caroline’s turn. I think Caroline took the longest in the bathroom. After how long, Caroline came out wearing a black halter dress with ruffles at the bottom of the dress, black thin strappy heels. Caroline also didn't know how to do their makeup so she had Jana do it. Even though Jana only brought a little bit of makeup products, she worked with what she had. Caroline had blue and black makeup eyes.

[7:30PM]
We all looked hot for the first night out. We grabbed our clutch bags and headed out of the hotel. We walked all the way to Mandalay Bay Hotel. The reason why we walked all the way there was because we wanted to get some fresh air from the outside. Also, we were looking hot and we had to show off what we had. The other reason why we wanted to have dinner at Mandalay Bay was because the club that we were going to were also there too. It was only convenient for us to be there. Once we got to the Mandalay Bay hotel, we walked to the Stripsteak Restaurant.

Caroline and Jana went over to get us a table from the waitress at the podium while me and Payton stood on the side taking some selfies together. Once Caroline and Jana came back from getting our table, we took selfies together in the meantime. We wanted to capture the moment when we’re together. After 15 minutes of waiting, our name was called and the waitress walked us over to our table. As we sat there waiting for our food to come out, we started to talk some more.

Caroline asks curiously, “do you think it's bad if you're talking to someone while you're dating a guy?”

Payton asks, “why? Are you talking to someone that we don't know about?”

“No. i was just wondering cause i want to meet someone tonight and forget about Gary.” Caroline says.

“It isn't bad, but sooner or later, you're going to have to tell Gary about it.” Bailee says innocently.

Jana adds to that while pointing out Payton, “and it's always good to move on, not too fast like most people.”

Payton says in denial, “i don't move THAT fast.”

“Of course you do sweetie. You just don't want to admit it.” Caroline says.

“Am i really that bad?” Payton questions her dating habits.

Bailee says, “you just have the tendency to move on with another guy faster than most people. That's all.”

Payton says, “oh my god. That’s pretty bad.”

“It's okay Pay. we all want your amazing skills.” Jana says jokingly.

Caroline’s POV.
We all laughed together and then our food came out. We took long enough at the restaurant.

[10PM]
We headed over to the Light Nightclub at the Mandalay Bay Hotel. There were so many young people there. Everyone was waiting in line for the VIP guest list which we were on. We waited in line with our hot outfits and went inside. We got our wristbands and headed over to a table.

Music was playing really loud and people were dancing on the dance floor in the middle of the venue. There were also people standing around talking. As we sat at the tables talking to each other, i noticed a guy from afar staring at me who was with his group of friends. I smiled and went back to talking with the girls. Then Payton says as she notices the guy from across the room.

Payton says as she notices the guy from across the room, “that guy over there keeps on looking over here.”

Jana looks at Caroline and back at the guy. She notices the tension between the two & says, “he has the hots for Caroline.”

Bailee says to Caroline, “whoa. Go talk to him Caroline and see what he wants.”

Caroline says & asks, “i'm going to get us some drinks. What do you girls want?”

“Classic Mojito, please.” Payton says.

“Margarita.” Jana says.

“Make that two margarita.” Bailee says to Caroline.

“Alright. I’ll be right back.” Caroline says to the girls.

I stood up and walked over to the bar to get the drinks. I had a feeling that the girls were talking at the table.

Payton asks, “you girls want to make a friendly bet?”

Bailee asks, “bet on what?”

“If i win, the both of you have to get me whatever i want.” Payton bets Jana and Bailee.

“So what is your bet?” Jana asks.

Payton says, “i bet that Caroline is going to be interested in the guy who was staring at her just now. She’s gonna be curious, just watch.”

As i reached the bar, i started to order some drinks. I could see from the corner of my eye that guy from before came standing next to me trying to pretend to get a drink as well.

Caroline says to the bartender, “can i get two margarita’s, one mojito, and a cranberry juice with vodka.”

The guy bartender asks, “classics?”

“Yes, please.” Caroline says.

The bartender made the drinks as i waited for him. The guy who stared at me earlier were still there. I was curious to what he wanted from me or why he was interested. Then the bartender came back with the drinks.

The bartender puts down four drinks on the table in front of Caroline saying, “here you go.”

Caroline says as she gives $50.00 to the bartender, “thanks.”

“Let me get your change.” The bartender says.

“Keep the change. Thank you.” Caroline says & smiles back.

The bartender says, “thanks. Enjoy your night.”

I smiled at the bartender and walked away with four drinks in my hand. I went back to our table and gave the girls their drinks. We hanged out at the tables for half an hour and then went to the dance floor to dance for the rest of the night. We weren't tipsy yet so Payton ordered us some shots. Actually, she got us 3 more shots each and it knocked Payton out. Jana drank a few more and got fully drunk. By 3AM, Jana and Payton were out. Bailee took Jana and Payton back to the hotel in a taxi. While i was behind them, i sense that someone was following me. After that fourth shot, i felt a bit tired but i knew what was going on. So as i was walking down the strip, i stopped and confronted the guy.

Caroline says & asks, “you've been following me since i entered the club tonight. Is there something on my face that i don't know about?”

The guy says, “you caught my eye with your beauty tonight.”

“Wow. you do know how to impress a girl with your comments.” Caroline comments.

“I try to do my best.” The guy says.

My feet were already sore from exiting the club so i stopped and lightly massage my ankle. The guy realize the pain i was in and told me…

The guy says, “sit down.”

Caroline asks not knowing what he was talking about, “what?”

The guy pulls my arm and sat me down on the sturdy bench. He knelt down in front of me and took off his nice shoes.

“Take off your heels. I’ll let you borrow my shoes.” The guy says.

“What are you going to wear? Your feet will get dirty.” Caroline asks & says stating the obvious.

The guy says, “it's alright. I have socks on so if i get dirty, it will be my socks not my feet.”

Caroline says, “that's so nice of you.”

I took off my heels and he helped me out on his shoes onto my feet. He was so sweet to do that. Gary would not done that even if i told him to. I felt like Cinderella that morning with the stranger guy. So after i wore his shoes, we both stood up and he says…

The guy says, “come on. I’ll walk you back to your hotel.”

I smiled brightly at him and we began to walk. He asked me a few questions wanting to know more about me and i also wanted to know about him too. I just met the guy and he’s a total stranger but i feel like i could talk to him like i talk to the girls.

“You were so beautiful tonight.” The guy compliments Caroline.

“Thank you. You weren't so bad yourself, very handsome.” Caroline smiles & compliments him back.

The guy asks, “so where are you from?”

Caroline says, “i was born and raised in LA.”

“I'm from LA too. What county you live in?” The guy says & asks.

“I live in Downtown LA. you?” Caroline says & asks.

The guy says, “i live in Malibu, right off the beach.”

Caroline says, “wow. I have always wanted to live by the beach some day.”

“You should. Its very beautiful, just like you.” The guy says encouraging Caroline.

“So what do you do?” Caroline asks curiously.

The guy says, “I'm a lawyer. I take care of case files and go to court sessions.”

The guy continues to ask, “what about you?”

Caroline says, “I'm an animation artist for Disney and video gamer creator. I create new games.”

“Then you must've work for the big gaming companies in LA.” The guy says.

“PlayStation and Xbox.” Caroline says.

The guy curiously asks, “do you like what you do?”

Caroline answers, “of course I do. I love video games ever since I grew up.”

“Do you like being a lawyer?” Caroline continues to ask.

“It has its perks but most of the time, i like it. Im very good at it. Well, i like to think so.” The guy says.

After a little walk and talk, we arrived in front of my hotel. We stood outside and said our goodbyes.

Caroline says, “well, this is me.”

The guy says, “can we see each other again?”

“Only if you want to.” Caroline smiles & says.

“When are you free?” The guy asks.

Caroline says, “whenever you want me to be.”

The guy asks, “how about tonight?”

“The girls and i are going to be at the Hakkasan Nightclub at MGM Hotel tonight if you want to come on by with your boys.” Caroline says.

“We’ll definitely be there tonight.” The guy says.

Caroline says, “okay. I’ll see you then.”

I take off the guy's shoes and gave it back to him. I thanked him for letting me borrow his shoes. I held onto my heels and turned around walking to the doors when the guy called me back.

The guy asks, “what is your name?”

“You first.” Caroline says.

“Darin. Darin Miller.” Darin tells Caroline his name.

Caroline says, “Caroline. Caroline Mason.”

Darin says with a smile, “it's nice to finally meet you Caroline Mason.”

“You too Darin Miller.” Caroline says.

“Goodnight.” Darin says to Caroline from afar.

Caroline says back, “goodnight.”

I smiled to myself and walked into the hotel. I took the elevator upstairs to the room. As i walked into the room, i saw Jana and Payton already passed out asleep. Bailee was still awake lying on the couch looking at the ceiling.

Caroline whispers to Bailee as she puts her heels onto the floor, “you're not sleeping yet?”

Bailee says, “i could ask you the same thing.”

“I went to talk to that guy who was staring at me all night at the club. He walked me back to the hotel and we talked a lot. It was nothing like i've encountered before in my life.” Caroline explains trying not to fall in love with Darin Miller.

“It seems like you two really hit it off tonight.” Bailee says.

Caroline says like she is in love, “i talked to him like i talked to you girls. It was amazing.”

Bailee asks under her breathe, “are you going to see him again?”

“He wants to see me again.” Caroline says.

“Are you?” Bailee asks curiously.

Caroline says, “i don't know.”

Bailee says, “go to bed now. Tomorrow’s another day.”
