So Much For Being Siblings

The next day I woke up in a bedroom in Mr. Park's house. I quickly got went downstairs and found my mom laughing with my soon-to-be stepfather. A feeling of disgust rose in my chest once again.
My mom turned and noticed me. "Oh! Kana! You're awake! Come on! Your dad is going to drive you to school today."
I looked at her and asked, "What do you mean, my dad?"
Then I realized mom meant my soon-to-be stepdad. "Oh! Sure! Okay! I'm ready. But I need my bag." I forced out.
Mr. Park held out my schoolbag to me. "Here you go honey. Now let's go before you're late for school."
Mr. Park and I had a small talk while he was driving me to school. He seemed nice. Maybe it won't be so bad to have him as my father. 'Wait. Kana. What are you thinking? You're supposed to hate this guy! He's getting married to mom!' I told myself. But I already started to like the fact that he was going to be my stepfather.
"Okay. Here we are! I'll see you later Kana!" Mr. Park said as he dropped me off outside of the school.
I quickly walked out of the car and walked into the school where I met two of my best friends. Linda and Sadako.
"Hey, Kana!" Sadako greeted with her usual bubbly voice.
"Hi!" I said back giving both of them a tight hug. Then I noticed there was a smirk on Sadako's face. "What's wrong?" I asked.
Sadako simply gestured toward Linda, who was now keeping her head low and suddenly seemed VERY interested with her shoes. "Linda.... HAS A CRUSH ON SOMEONE!"
"Sadako!" Linda whisper-screamed, very embarrassed.
My eyes widened. "REALLY? LINDA! YOU FINALLY LIKE SOMEONE! WHO IS IT!?"
Linda quickly covered my mouth and made a 'shhh' sound with her mouth. "Quiet. Come to a place where there's less people. I'll tell you there."
So, I followed Linda and Sadako quite eagerly to a more quiet side of the school. "So~Who is that lucky guy that you're interested in, Linda?" I asked in a voice that made her face burn.
There was a moment of silence. And then Linda answered.



"His name is Park Jimin."





".......Wait. What. Linda, can you say that name again?" I asked. Did she just say Park Jimin?
"Park Jimin." Linda repeated.
I looked at her. Then remembered. 'Wasn't my step-brother's name Park Jimin? Well, who knows how many 'Park Jimin's there are in Korea.'
'She's probably talking about a different Park Jimin.' I thought to myself.
Then sadako pointed to someone behind me and whispered, "There he is!"
I spun around.
'Or... maybe not?' I thought.
