So Much For Being Siblings

Home-Coming

A few days later in school*

Kana P.O.V.

This year's home-coming was pushed back, which I am thankful for. However, it was still coming soon. In fact, home-coming was exactly next week. Next Monday would be home-coming. For the past years I've always went with my friends. This year I finally have a boyfriend. I'm probably going with Rapmonster. I could already imagine in a suit, and lord, he'll look so good.

I was busy with my thoughts in the middle of class when the bell suddenly rang, signaling the end of boring history class. Sadako, Linda, Hee-Young, A-Yeon, and I quickly met together again and headed outside since it was now our free period. "Hey guys. Should be go shopping today? Home-coming is coming up." A-Yeon said.

"Yeah. We should go with matching outfits yah know. #squad. Let's go as a group again." Hee-young suggested.

"I'm probably going with Rapmonster though." I stated.

Everyone nodded. "OMG. Then we definitely have to find something extra cute for you so you can impress Rapmonster." Sadako squealed. Then she took out her phone. "In fact, I saw this PERFECT dress online. This model looks good in it, but Kana, YOU WOULD LOOK SO MUCH BETTER IN IT

Everyone seemed really happy but Hee-Young seem oddly offended and annoyed looking. "What? You're not coming?"

"Huh? Home-coming? I am going." I said, puzzled at Hee-Young statement.

"No." Hee-Young started. "I meant you're not coming with us as a group??"

I scratched the back of my neck by instinct. "Well, yeah. Sorry. I know we've always went to parties and thing as a group, but this time I just want to go with Rapmonster. We'll still be partying together. Just that I'm going with a date."

"WHAT?! HOW CAN YOU DO THAT?" Hee-Young demanded.

"Woah, sister, chill. What's wrong with that? Kana finally has someone that's not that stupid Lucas." Sadako stated.

To this Hee-Young's voice raised even more. "WE'VE ALWAYS BEEN THERE TOGETHER. YOU'RE DITCHING US FOR A GUY?"

At this point I was just baffled. Why was Hee-Young acting like this? "Um...we are still going to be there. It's just that my status there would not be single. Rapmonster will be my date. It doesn't mean I'm going to ditch you guys. What's the problem?"

"THE PROBLEM IS THAT I AM_" Hee-Young stopped abruptly. Her eyes widened, and then she slapped a hand in front of her mouth, making sure what she wanted to say got swallowed and died in her stomach.

SLAP.

It hit so hard my left cheek took a good second to register the pain.

Hee-Young had slapped me. REALLY hard on my cheek. I couldn't even be mad. Instead, I was just confused. Hee-Young was a nice person. She has never acted this way before. Something was very wrong with her today.

Her head was down and I couldn't get a good look at her face. Then I saw drops of liquid on the ground. Tears. Tears were flowing free from Hee-Young's face and onto the ground. "Hee-Young. If you don't want me to go with Rapmonster so bad, I won't. I'll just-"

Suddenly, Linda cut me off. "No. NO. You WILL go with Rapmonster. Hee-Young, sis, I don't know what's gotten into you. But you have no right to act that way. What the fuck was that for?! You never had any objections towards Rapmonster before! What IS your problem?!"

Hee-Yound stayed silent.

"What the fuck, when did you suddenly become such a bitch?!" Sadako demanded.

Oh no. That side of Sadako was about to come out. The side that will explode if someone hurts one of her closest friends. She wasn't the sweet person. When she's in this mode, she can kill someone. I needed to stop it before the switch goes off. "Sadako, it's fine. The slap didn't hurt."

"NO. Kana. Just, NO. You are NOT going to defend her on this. Rapmontser is your boyfriend, what you wanted to do is not wrong in ANY way. Hee-Young had ZERO rights do act the way she did. I will not let you defend that hoe this time." Sadako stated furiously. Then she turned to Hee-Young. "I don't know what THE FUCK has gotten into your MOTHERFUCKING brain, but in simple terms, we shall not talk until you realize what you did wrong and rightfully apologize to all of us, INCLUDING Rapmonster. That gentleman did nothing to deserve your hate for him."

No one gave Hee-Young the chance to even attempt to apologize, though she didn't seem like she was going to apologize anyways. "Let's go." Sadako spat, leading me away. Everyone followed, leaving Hee-Young, all seemingly agreeing with Sadako.

*Later on*

"Rapmonieeeee~~~~~" I called as I spotted him in the hallway. I ran into his embrace and I have to admit, my feelings towards him are somewhat warming up.

"Haha. You're energetic today. What happened?" Rapmonster asked chuckling. He gave such cute grins.

"Come to home-coming with me, babe." I said, looking up at him, unintentionally making puppy-eyes.

The was a silent moment. then Rapmonster said, "Sorry babe. I forgot to tell you. I can't go to the home-coming. I have family business. The worst coincidence ever. Jesus. I promise I'll take you out to a fancy dinner to make up for it though."

He looked so apologetic, I couldn't even get mad. "It's fine baby. We can just have a movie night alone. I'll prefer that more, to be honest."

He chuckles, pulls me into his arms tighter, and kissed my forehead. I smiled at the feelings. Then I remembered Hee-Young.

I wasn't going with Rapmonster after all. Hee-Young has always been a good friend. Was home-coming REALLY worth a precious friendship?
