Marriage Is Happiness

[THURSDAY, 10:30AM] I woke up and went to work.

There was a lot to be done at the company. I sat there in my office looking over some documents and smiled as i thought about last night. I thought about Dae and how much time we spent talking together. Then Sunmi walks into my office looking at how happy i was. She knocks and i looked up to her to say…

Yoori : Sunmi.
Sunmi : someone’s in a happy mood this morning.
Yoori : yeah.
Sunmi (*asks) : what happened ?
Yoori : i met a guy last night in a park while i was sitting on a bench.
Yoori : we spent two hours talking about our lives. We walked and talked.
Yoori : this guy really understood me, like his life was like mine in a way.
Yoori : i told him things i wouldn't tell anyone i barely met.
Sunmi (*asks) : did you get his name ?
Yoori : his name is Dae.
Sunmi (*asks) : Dae ? like Daesung ? Daejung ?
Yoori : he just said his name was Dae.
Yoori : i told him my name was Yoo.
Yoori : i didn’t want him to get my full name, who knows what will happen.
Sunmi : you barely met this guy and you had already told him your personal information.
Sunmi (*asks) : isn’t that a little dangerous ?
Yoori : i felt like we connected.
Yoori : I felt like i could tell him everything about me and not get judged for it.
Sunmi (*asks) : that’s how much you two talked ? that serious ?
Yoori : yeah.
Sunmi : well, i’m happy for you Yoori.
Yoori (*asks) : any news or information i should know about for today ?
Sunmi : your mother called.
Yoori (*asks) : what did she want ?
Sunmi : she said that she had set up a dinner date with your future husband tonight.
Sunmi : she’s hoping you make it to dinner at 7 tonight.
Yoori : alright. I’ll give her a call when i’m not so busy with work later.
Sunmi (*asks) : what’s this thing about future husband ?
Yoori : my mom is arranging marriage for me.
Yoori : It’s already official, i’m getting married in a couple months.
Sunmi : you dont sound happy about it.
Yoori : i’m not. I’m just doing as she pleases.
Sunmi : you should tell her that you don’t want to.
Yoori : i can’t. She threatened me.
Yoori : it’s strange because I feel like she’s hiding something else from me.
Yoori : something much more than this wedding that she has arranged.
Sunmi : you can ask her.
Yoori : no, i’m going to find out myself.
Sunmi : well, i hope it goes for you.
Yoori : thanks Sunmi.

I went back to work.

Daehyun’s POV.
I was in my office working when my secretary calls me on the phone. I picked it up as it rang. She said that a man wanted to see him so i told her to send him in my office. When he came in, i was surprised to see that it was my dad. He stood there about to talk while i looked at him.

Minwoo : Son.
Daehyun : Dad.
Minwoo : your mom had talked to Yoori’s mother and set up a dinner date tonight for you two.
Minwoo : you two will meet and get to know each other.
Daehyun (*asks with an attitude) : why should i meet her ?
Minwoo : because we told you to and you're going do as we say.
Daehyun : your standing in my office and threatening me.
Daehyun (*asks) : what else are you going to do ?
Minwoo : don’t be so stubborn. I’ll drag you to the dinner tonight if i have to.
Daehyun : we all know that i get my stubbornness from you Dad.
Minwoo : this is between you and me. I’ll make you a deal in return for marriage.
Daehyun (*asks) : what would that be ?
Minwoo : if you don’t marry Yoori then you would have to move back with us.
Minwoo : and if you get married to Yoori, you get to keep your place. But on one condition.
Minwoo : Yoori would have to move in with you. You will live as a married couple.
Minwoo : its either you get your space or your don’t.
Daehyun (*asks) : is this for real ?
Minwoo : yes, i’m being serious right now.
Deahyun : okay. It doesn’t sound bad at all. You got yourself a deal.
Minwoo : don’t forget tonight at 7pm. I’ll text you the address later.
Daehyun : okay.
Minwoo : and here.

My dad slams the file onto my desk and i glare at him when he says…

Minwoo : it’s Yoori’s file. You should take a look at it before you meet her.
Daehyun : okay.
Minwoo : see you later.
Daehyun : bye Dad.

My dad walked out of my office and left. I sat there staring at the file and then got the chance to open it up. When i did, i recognized the picture of Yoori and who she was. She’s the same girl i met at the park last night, whom i talked to. I can’t believe that it’s her. She’s so pretty in the picture. I read everything about her in the file and it matched everything she had told me about her last night. The thing that she didn’t tell me was her real name, Jan Yoori. I still can’t believe that it’s her. From this point on, i think i’m going to just go tonight and let her figure it out for herself that i’m the same guy from last night. This girl was going to become my future wife. I guess fate brought us together, more like our parents did. I begin reading her entire file and she didn’t leave anything behind when she told me about herself last night. She was completely honest with me. It’s just her name is different. I didn’t know what to do but meet her tonight over dinner. I had enough to look at and went back to work. During the entire time, i couldn't stop thinking about Yoori.
