Marriage Is Happiness

Aeyoung came out to talk to me and tried to calm me down with her soothing words.

Aeyoung (*asks) : are you okay Yoori ?
Yoori : there is so many things rushing through my head right now.
Yoori : i don’t know what to think or what is going to happen.
Aeyoung : it’s going to be alright.
Yoori (*asks) : how can you be so sure ?
Aeyoung : i’m not sure but i know you will get through it somehow. you always do Yoori.
Yoori : now that i think about it, maybe my mom is right.
Yoori : my head is stuck at work all the time and that i really should be in a relationship.
Aeyoung (*asks) : when was the last time you dated someone ?
Yoori : it was in high school up until i started college.
Aeyoung : that’s a long time.
Yoori : it sure is.
Aeyoung : no matter what happens, i want you to be happy or become happy. we all want that for you.
Yoori : marriage is a whole different game.
Aeyoung : it's not a game, it’s life.
Aeyoung : i married your brother because i really really love him.
Aeyoung : i know that one day, you will find someone you love.
Aeyoung : maybe that's your future husband, who knows. Time will only tell Yoori.
Yoori : i feel better everytime i talk to you.
Yoori (*asks) : why is that ?
Aeyoung : because we understand each other very well.

Aeyoung unnie and me smiled at each other. Then she says…

Aeyoung : let’s go back inside. Everyone’s waiting for you.

The both of us went back inside of the restaurant to eat with everyone. Hyunwoo asks me…

Hyunwoo (*asks Yoori) : is everything okay ?
Yoori : yeah. I have something to say and i hope everyone listens, especially you omma.
Sooah : i’m listening.
Yoori : i will marry this Daehyun guy but on one condition.
Sooah (*asks) : and what would that be ?
Yoori : i want to know every detail from beginning to end on this wedding.
Yoori : no details left out. Anything and everything. That's all i want.
Sooah : if you have one condition then i have one too.
Yoori (*asks) : what is that ?
Sooah : after you get married, you are moving in with Daehyun and i get to move into your apartment.
Sooah : i’m going to be living with Mae here in Seoul just until i get back on my feet.
Yoori : if Mae is okay with it then i am too.
Mae : i’ll pull through somehow.
Yoori (*says to Sooah) : you got yourself a deal.
Sooah : deal.
Hyunwoo : see. That wasn’t so hard. You two just had to talk it through, that’s all.

When dinner was over, me and Mae went home. While coming up into the apartment, i went into the kitchen to get a glass of water and Mae was sitting at the small dining table. She looked stressed out so i asked her worried…

Yoori (*asks) : are you okay unnie?
Mae : i’m just still wrapping my head around the fact that mom will be living with me after you get married.
Yoori : it won’t be so bad. It will be like old times when we were little.
Mae : it’s very different this time Yoori.
Mae : Hao wants me to love in with him.
Yoori (*asks) : when did he ask you ?
Mae : just last week.
Mae : i was thinking that eventually i’ll get married to him and move out to move in with him.
Mae : but i guess mom wants to do something else otherwise.
Yoori (*asks) : you were thinking about it, have you ?
Mae : i have. I don’t know what to tell him. He’s expecting an answer from me very soon.
Mae : i can’t let mom live on her own like this. She’s been alone in Busan ever since all of us left to Seoul.
Yoori (*asks) : then what do we do ?
Mae : i guess i have to tell Hao no and that i should live with mom here in Seoul.
Yoori : Unnie. You love Hao and he loves you. You two should be together, living together.
Mae : i believe that there are another time in our lives but not right now.
Yoori : okay. I’ll be here if you need me still.
Mae (*smiles & says) : thanks Yoori.

While at Daehyun’s parents house. They all had dinner together and the food was delicious. After cleaning up, the entire family gather around the dining table to talk and have some fruits together. It was a good time for Chaeyoung and Minwoo to tell Daehyun about the arranged marriage with Yoori.

Chaeyoung : there’s actually something we want to say to Daehyun.
Daehyun (*asks) : what is it ?
Minwoo : your mom and I want you to get married. We have already arranged someone for you.
Hyemi (*asks) : who ???
Chaeyoung : my high school best friend has a daughter who’s 25 years old.
Chaeyoung : she’s very pretty, hardworking, and cares a lot for her family.
Sangyong (*asks) : whats her name ?
Chaeyoung : her name is Jan Yoori. She works at Peach Films as an Executive Producer.
Daehyun (*asks his parents) : and you guys are okay with this ?
Minwoo : of course we’re okay with it. We want this for you.
Daehyun : well, i don’t. I like my life like this and when i’m ready, i’ll get married.
Minwoo (*asks) : when will that be ? 3 years from now ? 5 years from now ? 10 years from now ?
Minwoo : tell me son.
Daehyun : when i’m ready appa.
Daehyun (*asks) : has this Yoori girl agreed with this ? does she want this too ?
Chaeyoung : her mother and I came to an agreement. We are going to do this and marry you off this way.
Chaeyoung : if you like it or not.
Daehyun : see, that's the thing.
Daehyun : You two will always make the decisions for me, the thing that i hate the most.
Daehyun : but you haven't realized or care about what i think, what my opinions are.
Daehyun : it’s one of the reasons why i moved out. I wanted to do everything on my own.
Daehyun : it’s better this way.
Daehyun : if you excuse me, i got to go. Thank you for the dinner, we’ll see each other then.

Daehyun POV.
I walked out of my parents house angrily. I was boiling inside because of what they did. They did it without talking to me about it and came to a decision for me. They know that i hated that the most growing up. Its one of the reasons why i packed up my things and left. I love them and all but sometimes, i need to make my own decisions. I would rather make my own decisions and deal with the consequences later than do something their way. I don’t even remember when our family was like that. It was never like that. The entire drive home, i thought about it and it never occur to me. I had the perfect life of a bachelor and never wanted to end. Marriage would end it for me if it happened. I enjoyed this rich beautiful bachelor life. Never wanted to let it go. I really am sorry to the Yoori girl if i didn't want to get married to her. I believe her mom set her up too and brainwashed her. So this was my decision, not to go through with it.
