A K-pop Idol's Guide to Surviving a Zombie Apocalypse

"Are you sure?" I whispered, gripping my bat. It seemed a tad bit too flimsy now. The darkness was way too unnerving. Jaemin nodded. "They were here last ..."

Mark gulped audibly behind me and I turned. "Are you sure you don't want to go ba-"

"Look out!" Screamed Renjun, and I turned and swung my bat blindly. I stumbled back as a dark shadow growled at me. I was glad that it was too dark to see - even it was a bit scarier, at least I didn't have to see their faces. I swungst it again, and grabbed the others. "Run!"

"This was a bad idea," panted Donghyuk as we hid in a small street. I growled. "You're the one who insisted upon coming in the first place!"

"Well, yeah, duh ..."

"Attitude," I warned him, but fell silent again quickly, straining my ears.

I crept around quietly, the others trailing behind. I approached the dorm, where zombies were wandering around making an occasional grunt or groan. I couldn't see any of the familiar figures, which was a small relief. Could they hear me?

"Hansol?" I whispered half-loudly. "Kun? Ten? Jisung? -"

"Sh!" Hissed Jasmin suddenly, and I froze.Staring into the darkness, my eyes slowly adjusted, my ears already hearing a slight scuffle -

Then everything came into focus finally and I bolted.

Thankfully I was quick enough - a second too slow and I might have been too late. I rammed my shoulder into the zombie, both of us tumbling into a clump of rubbish bins that were thankfully plastic and didn't attract too much attention.

But I was still less than a meter away from something that only had to scratch me to kill me.

"Yuta -" Hansol stared at me with wide eyes as the other younger members finally arrived, and I batted the zombie away and it fell into a trash can. It would have been funny, but ...

"Hyung! Are you okay?" Squeaked Jaemin in panic, and I nodded slowly, checking myself for bites. "I hope so."

"That was stupid you idiot! What if it bit you?" Hissed Hansol as soon as I bumped into him again. I shook my head. "It was gonna bite you! And where are the others?"

His face fell. "Have you not found them??"

"Then what are we waiting for?" I looked around quickly. "Come on!"

But it wasnt easy trying to find lost members in the dsrk surrounded by zombies. I think zombies could only hear and maybe smell us so far - so as long as we were really quiet, we didnt have too much trouble. It was nerve wracking though - like, really! It was like I was walking on a tightrope across a super high cliff wirh a shark infested lake underneath me -

Okay, I get it.

"What happened?" I asked quietly. Hansol bit his lip. "Noises I were coming from outside, and there were screams, so me and Kun went outside to check what was happening. But then once we were out into the corridor, the things started chasing us. I managed to close the door and tell the others to stay there before running ... We lost them eventually, but when we returned the door was open and they weren't there. Several things were gone, like a stand or a bat, so I thought - hoped - that they had escaped. But then we were corner inside, and then had to separate to survive. I lost Kun in the crowd - i spotted Mark and the others briefly but then it went dark and I just hid, trying not to get eaten. Then - well, then you came in."

I sighed. "I'm sure they're okay." I wandered into a small alleyway. "I wonder if -"

A high-pitched scream cut me off and befire I processed anything, Mark and Donghyuk were alreadu sprinting away. I stared blankly until Hansol hit me and we ran after them with everyone else, just in time to see Mark whack a zombie in the face with a metal rod (where did he get that?) and two figures I recognized as Chenle and Jisung manage to escape. I breathed a sigh of relief and pulled them along. "Mark, can you remember the way back?"

"What?"

"The way back to the attic, can you remember it?"

"Yes ... Why?"

I turned around. "Hansol, you go with them and go back, tell the others - actually don't, they'll try and find me. Then I'll go and look for the others -"

"What is wrong with you hyung!" Exploded Donghyuk. "First you want to go out there alone to find us and then you want to send us back so you can -"

"Quiet!" Yelped Jisung suddenly, and we all froze. Footsteps were approaching.

Closer .. closer ...

"Finally!" Cried two voices, and I almost collapsed with relief. Kun and Ten rounded the corner, and grinned at us.

"Never mind your plan, Yuta. Let's go." Hansol grabbed my arm and we led the way back, weaving through the quieter streets towards a where the attic was. Thankfully we had a relatively good sense of direction - I had no clue where I was going. I guess kids have better senses than us?

(No Hansol hyung! I'm not calling you old I swear!)

"It's here - quickly!" Mark pushed the dream members up the fire escape and we all followed. I knocked on the window and it immediately opened. Taeil started pulling us in, talking very fast about something - I think he was probably scolding us. Finally, Ten jumped down and I shut and locked the window. It was now five o'clock in the morning - almost light.

"That was very stupid. I'm not letting you do that again, okay?" Said Taeil hyung, and I nodded, grinning uncontrollably for some reason. Then I realized how tired I was, and barely made it over to the pile of sleeping NCT members before my legs gave out and I fell asleep.

(Man, that was fun ! Hehe)
