Hard Work

Taking the Time to Learn

The training and practices had been going on for over three weeks, Kokyung let out a sigh as she waited for BTS to enter the dance studio. This was her big test, could she figure something out that they could all do while using their hip-hop background?

As she waited she played the song No More Dream again, she had been listening to it for hours on end. She had taken off from her job at the cafe, with her boss' blessing, for class purposes.
Well maybe that wasn't the only reason, she didn't want to run the risk of seeing Suga outside of the dance studio.

The bass line of the song rumbled through the wooden floored room, she started to move in time with the beat. As the rap came on she started to quicken her moves, examining herself in the mirror she realized that it didn't look completely off from the movements she had seen the boys put forth when she interrupted them their first time they had come into the room. She exhaled and moved start over again, she hoped to finish devising the plan before they finally came into the room. It was almost three in the afternoon, they were suppose to be there at 4:30

Yoongi cautiously looked around the cafe before taking his usual seat in the corner of the room. He had been back a few times after the initial shock of learning that the girl he had been seeing in the cafe for two weeks prior to that was his new dance instructor.

Kokyung was no where to be seen, much like the other times he had come in. The young girl she had been training seemed to have taken over for the ballerina.

"Y-You're in Bangtan Boys, right?" The young girl asked, a shy expression on her face as she came over to take his order.

"Yes, are you a fan?"

"Uh-huh."

"Oh? Who's your bias?" He chuckled.

"Y-you." Her face was turning a darker shade of red than before.

"Me? Thank you for all your support." He said, bowing his head.

"I wonder if Kokyung-unni knows." The girl seemed to ponder. "Oh, I'm sorry. Would you like something?"

"Just a latte, please."

The bass line to No More Dream resonated off the floor and the mirrors that made up the walls of the room.

Kokyung could hear her sneakers squeak on the floor again as she failed to stick the ending, she was completely stuck on how to finish the dance.

Her inner musings were shut down as she heard the door open, turning she watched all seven of the group enter the practice room.

"Good evening Jae-ssem." Rap Monster greeted her, a kind smile on his face.

"Thank you for coming, I think I've figured out the routine for No More Dream. I'm rather proud of it, but I do hope that we can pull this off."

"I'm sure we can learn." J-Hope said, a large smile on his face.

Yoongi noticed the sweat that was slowly coming off her face and rolling down her neck, the bead rolled into the collar of her hoodie.
Just as he watched this she reached for the edge of her hoodie and began to pull it off, she was wearing a loose grey tank top underneath it. She was wearing street clothes, not a leotard and ballet slippers.

"You dress like us when we practice, why aren't you all dressed up like a ballerina?" Taehyung asked, voicing the question the older of the two had just been thinking.

"I want to see how the clothes move, that way I know how to customize it to the way you will move. If I wore a leotard for this the movements wouldn't be the same and I wouldn't understand why. This is just more practical for the application."

Her reasoning was sound, they group nodded as she said this.

"If you're all ready," She motioned for them to line up behind her.

The beginning of No More Dream started to play over the speakers. They watched her, her arm lifted and fell as Rap Monsters voice began. She turned as the repeat sounded.
Yoongi's rap began, she moved her head to the side and turned her body. She stood facing them now, they followed suit and did the same watching her from the other mirror in front of them. She did a simple spin and landed on her feet.

"Rap Monster, move your feet inward."

It was at that point Kokyung realized she sounded like her instructor, it was something she hadn't noticed until she nit-picked the footing of the leader.

"I'm sorry," He shuffled his feet inward a few centimeters.

She smiled at him and bowed her head in apology, she moved to look at Jin. She understood that he and Rap Monster weren't the best dancers in the whole group. He looked to be in a good position.

Taking in the whole group she spotted that Suga's arms were in the entirely wrong place for the spot in the song they were working on. She moved forward and met his eyes, she cautiously reached for his arm.
She could feel him tense as she carefully took his wrist in her hand, she pulled his arm down into the proper place.

"Loosen your arms, think of it like holding a huge beach ball."

She could feel his arms relax some as she pulled them forward into the perfect position. His eyes dropped and she moved away from him quickly.

"You all look perfect, moving to the next move drop your shoulder and pull your arm around to spin your body.

The practice ended without a hitch, Yoongi felt worried about the actual dance. He didn't want to cause this girl to get a bad grade because he messed up. He waited until everyone was getting ready to leave before slowly walking up to his instructor.

"Jae-ssem, is there any way I could stay after the practice and get help with the moves?" His voice low.

"Hm? Of course." She said, barely looking up from her phone.

A wash of relief hit him, she was willing to help him learn the dance.

"Thank you for coming, your manager has set practice for 1:00 tomorrow afternoon."

Kokyung's voice rang out as the other boys stood from their spots on the wooden floor to leave, Yoongi waited along the railing of the room.

"Suga-hyung, you're not coming?" Taehyung questioned once he realized that the older rapper wasn't leaving.

"No, I'm going to work for a little longer. I'll see you when I get home."

The younger of the two nodded and turned to leave.

"What are the issues you're having with the choreography?"

Yoongi looked over the girl, she had a soft look on her face.
Her lips were stained a rosy color in the center, a soft gradient outward. Her pastel pink and purple hair was pulled into a messy ponytail near the top of her head. She was smaller than him, she came up to just past his shoulder.

"All of it, I just want to make sure I have a grasp." He said, bowing his head slightly. "Thank you for being willing to stay later and work with me."

"I was going to be here anyway. I'm just glad I can be of help, Suga."

"Yoongi." He quickly corrected her. "You should just call me Yoongi."

She blinked at him and then smiled again.

"I would tell you my first name, but you already know it." She laughed, it was a nice sound. Like a wind chime in a light breeze.

Kokyung stood beside Yoongi, he was watching her carefully. She could feel her face get warmer than it had been, she was going to blame it on the intensive choreography they were working on.

The young man she had served at the cafe for weeks was on a first name basis with her, she smiled to herself.

"Okay, now drop your shoulder and turn." She instructed.

He followed what she was saying and did a perfect spin.

"Good, and that's all I have planned out thus far. I'm still working on an ending."

A pang of guilt hit her, they had been working so hard but she still hadn't pulled her how weight in the deal and finished the dance for them.

"That's okay, could we go through it one more time?"

She was floored, he seemed to have no interest in anything she had said until this moment.

"Uh? Yeah, here from the top." She said, she counted off and they began to move in sync.

Yoongi rested on the floor of the practice room, Kokyung sitting beside him. He looked over at her and noticed a smile on her lips.

"You really like ballet." He noted before falling backwards into a laying position.

"My eomma was a ballerina in the Seoul Ballet. She taught me from a young age."

"Really?" He glanced over at her.

"Yeah, she was amazing. I'm only a quarter as good at my best as she was at her worst."

"Wow, with how good you are she must have been something." He said, he was interested in her.

She had a very grown up atmosphere around her.

"How old are you, Kokyung?" He finally asked, pulling himself into a sitting position.

"20, I just had my birthday a couple months ago." She said, she was looking up at the ceiling as she spoke to him. "You, Yoongi?"

"20."

Kokyung looked down at her phone and realized it was midnight, her eyes went wide as she thought about how long she and the rap idol had been sitting on the floor talking about nothing.

"Are you not working at the cafe anymore?" His voice made her look up at him.

"I am, why? Did you miss me?"
She couldn't help but tease the young man next to her.

His ears tinged pink as he shook his head fervently.

"Wha- No. It's just that younger girl doesn't make my latte right."

He was bluffing, she could see right through him.

"Suga, you see me every day without fail. It's not like you want to run into me more." She teased.

He rolled his eyes at her and looked down at his phone, his eyes widened slightly.

"Did you eat today?" He questioned.

Tilting her head, she wondered what the relevance of the question was.

"No, I have food in my apartment. I've been here most of today."

"Let's go get food."

It wasn't really a question, more or less a request.

Yoongi couldn't figure out what had come over him, there he was at 12:13 in the morning pulling a ballerina out of her academy to catch a taxi.

He looked over at her and noticed her face was pink.

"Where would you like to go? I'm not to familiar with Seoul yet."

"Please take us to JinOkHwa Halmae Wonjo Dakanmari." She spoke quickly. "Their chicken soup is to die for, but I hope they let us sit. They close in fifteen minutes."

The taxi pulled up to the small restaurant, the pair got out after Yoongi insisted on paying the fare. They walked in and saw two or three large groups were still sitting around eating or waiting for their food.

"I think they'll serve us." The rapper commented with a grin.

The waitress stood before them, "How many?"

"Oh, two." Kokyung said, she looked over at the boy beside her.

Kokyung couldn't believe what was happening, they sat at a table in one of her favorite places. Yoongi ran a hand through his messy looking black hair, she looked down at the table top. He was really attractive, she knew that from the first time he had come into the cafe. Looking at him up close was far different, his skin was like porcelain. His dark eyes met hers and then looked down at the menu that had been handed to him.

"Tea please." She could hear herself saying as their waitress took their drink orders.

"The chicken will be out in a few moments."

"Gamsa." Both Yoongi and Kokyung said in unison.

Their waitress giggled and moved away from the pair. Her face was getting warmer and warmer the longer they were together.

"S-so. What inspired you to become a rapper?" She tried for a conversation, he happily supplied a story for her.

"Uh-w-well. I'll see you tomorrow I suppose." She stuttered as they finished dinner, she had paid for her half and stood beside him just outside the restaurant.

"I figured I would make sure you got home." His voice sounded rather reassuring in the situation they were in, it was getting close to one in the morning.

"Ah-you really don't have to. Idols need their sleep after all, I'll be fine." She didn't want to take advantage of his kindness by making him take her home.

"No, I'm not going to run the risk of you getting attacked by some pervert."

"H-huh? I'll be fine."

"Come on, let's get a taxi." He gestured for her to get in with him.

Yoongi, felt his face twitch as he watched her blush out of the corner of his eye. She had given the driver her address.

With those directions the pair was off back towards the academy.

"Thank you, Yoongi." She whispered, almost too quite for him to hear her.

"It's not a problem." He said passively as they rode.

The car stopped before an apartment complex, it was nice looking.

"This is me, thank you." She said bowing to him.

"Thank you for helping me and coming out to dinner with me. Be safe."

With those parting words she climbed out of the cab and scurried into the building.
