Hard Work

Outside Encounter

"Okay, so you will be taking dance classes with ballerinas from the Universal Ballet Academy."
Their managers voice said as they all sat on the couch in the living room.

"So, not from professionals?" Taehyung asked, his eyebrows raised.

Namjoon looked terrified, he wasn't the best dancer. Jin wasn't far behind him, his face seemed visibly paler. Yoongi frowned.

"Why do we have to do this?"

"It's a show of good faith between us and the ballet academy, the give us many trainees. It's BitHit, SM, and YG doing this partnership. You will be learning from the ballerina and then you will perform what she taught you in an exposition at the academy."

"Exposition?" Namjoon's voice raised an octave.

"Yes. You can't get out of it, you're a new group so it's important for you to do these things."

Hoseok, Jimin, and Jungkook didn't see worried about a thing. Of course they weren't they were trained in various ways to dance. Yoongi wasn't worried, per say, he would have preferred not to but he didn't mind. Taehyung seemed slightly worried about it, but not anywhere near as scared as Jin and Namjoon.

"Okay, milaya. You have been assigned to BigHit's baby of the year; Bangtan Boys."

Kokyung felt her jaw slacken, she had been given a rookie group?

"What do the rankings mean?" She questioned.

"Only because it's you," The Russian woman laughed, "The older groups were assigned to the people we didn't think could teach that well, therefore the weaker of the class. Baby groups were given to those who seem to have a handle on what they are doing. You were given the newest group, we have the most faith in your abilities."

"Ah! Gamsa!" The Korean fell into a formal bow.

"Oh, no no. Get up! Your class will be here any moment. Prove us right."

The small Russian woman left with a light laugh, the dance room that she and Kokyung used was left with only one occupant.

With their manager leading the way, BTS walked through the campus of the Universal Ballet Academy.

"Do you think our teacher will be a foreigner?" Taehyung wondered aloud.

"I hope she's European." Jimin commented.

"It could be a man." Jin reminded the younger two.

Yoongi wondered what the instructor was like, what did they look like? Were they young? His thoughts were interrupted by their manager stopping them as they stood in the corridor of a building.

"This is the room you will report to for the next few weeks." He said pointing to a heavy looking oak door.
"Please follow me."

He opened the door and walked inside, the sight that greeted the group was enough to shock Yoongi.

Kokyung heard the door open, she turned to see a group of eight enter the room. One man who was exponentially older than the rest of the boys. She smiled kindly, this smile was all but wiped off her face as she realized who was standing before her.

A familiar head of black hair bobbed behind one of the taller members.

"U-uh. Hello, I'm Jae Kokyung. I'll be working with you for the next few weeks, let's do well." She said bowing to the group of men.

"Suga? Why are you hiding behind Rap Mon?" The shortest of the group pulled the familiar looking black haired boy out into the open.

"I wasn't hiding, he was just in front of me." The young man, now known as Suga, scoffed.

"Sorry, Jae-ssem. He's usually not like this." The tallest of the boys said, he had a black high fade.

The boys bowed and greeted her as Bulletproof Boy Scouts.

"Please introduce yourselves." Their manager said looking to them.

The boys stood in a line, the one with the fade stood forwards and bowed his head lightly.

"I'm Rap Monster, leader of BTS."

"I'm Suga, rapper and lyricist as well as composer." The young man that Kokyung already seemed to know said. She decided not to mention that she knew it, it could create problems.

"Thank you for offering to do this, it's truly wonderful thing. I'm Jin, vocalist."

"I'm V, I'm also a vocalist." A young man with redish blond hair said with a large smile, his eyes crinkling as he grinned at her.

"My name is J-Hope, I'm a rapper as well as the choreography leader." She nodded with a polite smile at his introduction, he would have a good handle on what they were doing then.

"I'm Jimin, I'm a vocalist and dancer."

"I'm Jungkook, maknae. I'm a vocalist, rapper, and dancer."

"I'm honored to be working with you, thank you for participating in this event with us." Kokyung said with a bow to the boys before her.

Yoongi stared at the girl before him, she looked different in than usual. Her long rainbow hair was down covered on top by a black beanie with various symbols along the folded band, her bangs falling as they usually did. She wore a cropped, sleeveless, tie-dyed hooded pullover. She was wearing comfortable looking cropped length black sweatpants. A pair of black hightop Vans covered her feet.

This was the first time that Yoongi was able to look at her without feeling like he was staring. Her eyes were larger than most of the other girls he had encountered, they were a lighter shade of brown.

"We will be working on a basis of your abilities before we launch into a routine. I haven't had much time to see the usual style you have, but I will be doing that tonight before our next class tomorrow. I apologize for being so ill prepared. I was at work late and didn't use my time in the studio to prepare well."

A pang of realization hit Suga, he had kept her at work late because he was working on lyrics. His eyes widened a bit.
She flashed him a slightly teasing smile, something that no one else would understand.

"We can show you if you like." Hoseok offered.

"That would be wonderful, I have my phone over here. If you could just put the song you'd like to dance to in it we can go ahead and start.

The man named 'J-Hope' followed her to where her phone was connected to the sound system and typed in a song. A heavy bass line flowed out into the room, he quickly moved forward to get into his position. The song began and she realized that they were a hip-hop group.

'Suga', began rapping something about big houses and rings.
Kokyung blinked, she didn't know what to do with the group from that point. She watched as their steps fell in perfect sync, it was truly stunning. Even though the dance moves were something the young woman wasn't use to, they were amazing in their own right. Everything seemed to be in its place.

It was as the song picked up and the moves became more intense she wondered if they had anything that wasn't a hardcore hip-hop song. She raised her hand, the group stopped immediately. She moved over to her phone and paused the song.

"Something wrong?" The youngest asked, worry coloring his tone.

"No-no! It was wonderful, but I was wondering if you had any...erm- softer songs?"

Yoongi blinked.

"Softer?" He questioned looking over at the ballerina.

"Well, I- I'm not sure how to work ballet into this kind of music. If we start with something softer, maybe less rap, I could work up to this song or something like it. I haven't ever attempted to work ballet into hip-hop."

Her eyes dropped as she admitted this, Namjoon nodded and looked to Hoseok.

"Maybe I Like It?" Their leader offered.

"We can just stand instead of sitting." Jungkook agreed.

Their instructor was looking at the floor as they discussed this, she seemed embarrassed by her question.

"Sorry for the trouble, I promise that I can figure something out for this song. I'm just not use to this music yet."

"No, it's good. We can work up to it." Jin said with reassuring look on his face.

Kokyung frowned, they were very nice to let her work with something different, she felt shame enter her as she watched their moves. She would never be nearly as good as them, and she had been training in ballet ever since she could walk. Her mother had instilled a love for dance in her from a young age.

She had been working years to attain what her mother had earned on her first audition to the Seoul ballet. She would never be good enough for her mothers legacy.

A softer song began to play and the group lined up, the song was soft and sweet, but also sad.

As the song picked up in a way the synchronized movements came into play again, Suga began to rap. He had a nice voice, it was rough and soft at the same time. It didn't match his face, he looked sweet.
His voice sounded somewhat tough, well as tough as someone named Suga could sound. She looked at their foot work and noticed that two of the boys near the back were having some issues. She looked up to see their faces and realized it was the leader, and the vocalist named Jin.

They would need extra work and time put into their movements. She waited for the song to end and finally put her hands together.

"I think I have what I need to go ahead and start."

Yoongi realized that she was staring at their feet and the movements they were making, he found himself concentrating on his feet more than the song.

It took him a few seconds to realize she was mostly watching Namjoon and Jin. They seemed to be staggering along through the song, they were in time but the moves were a little less animated. Probably their nerves and their less than stellar dancing history.

"That was beautiful, you're all very in sync. Better than most of us ballerinas." A soft laugh left her lips.

It was a light sound that was rather relaxed.

"Is it hard to be a ballerina?" Taehyung asked, a childish innocence coloring his tone.

"Well, it's not exactly easy. Keeping in shape for the dances is rather hard sometimes. My instructor is a woman from the Russian Ballet, so she's rather strict on us. She is also my private instructor as well, so she's doubly as hard on me as other students."

"She sounds scary. Russians are kinda scary." Taehyung laughed.

"Yes, they are. She's actually a very sweet woman."

"Onto the starting moves, I would like those who know at least a little bit about ballet to come forward.

Yoongi watched as Jimin stepped forward, slowly followed by Jungkook. Hoseok stayed between the other two rappers.

"Wonderful, you know starting positions?"

They both nodded and then moved into positions that seemed elegant.

"Wonderful, okay could I get the rest of you to follow their lead."

She stood in front of the mirror and moved into the position that seemed crisper and cleaner than the two idols stance.

They rest stood behind the three in the position and copied the move.

Her soft voice rang out, "Now we're going to move to third position."

Her body moved smoothly out of the first position and into what she called third. The rest of them followed with significantly less grace.

She watched in the mirror as Jin and Rap Monster struggled to keep up with her, she moved from third back to first and watched as they clumsily followed her.

"Okay, so that song is called I Like It. Right?"

"Yes." Suga answered with a nod.

"I'm going to play it and I would really like if you could watch me move with it. Once I try it once, we can go through a break down."

The group of seven nodded and she started the song over, she carefully listened for a moment before she began to move.

The group watched as the ballerina transformed their song about heartbreak and jealously into something far more beautiful than they could have managed.

She spun perfectly and stopped on one foot, her arms spread as the chorus began to play, she moved with such ease and grace. Yoongi felt envious of the grace that she possessed, she paused then launched into a rather complex move that they could only hope to recreate.

The song ended and a round of applause broke out from the seven boys. He watched as her face started to turn red, she didn't seem to know what to do with the cheering.

"O-oh, uh. Thank you." She said softly.

"That was amazing Jae-ssem." Jungkook said with a large smile.

"Uh?" She stuttered, she looked confused by the praise.

"Really, really graceful." Jimin said, Hoseok nodded as well.

Kokyung was sure what to do with their praise, they all seemed so impressed. She had just winged the entire thing and moved with the music, it wasn't impressive.

"Okay, so we'll start breaking it down then?"
