The Wolf Within Us
Chapter 8.5: Extra
Krystal's POV
I scrolled down my photos, smiling happily at the images on my phone. Jongin-oppa and I took many selcas, while making funny faces. My smiled widened at the happy thought of him.
I skipped down the sidewalk, excited to meet up with Kai who texted me to meet him outside EXO’s dorm.
I reached the building waiting outside for Kai when a figure approached me.
Her long sleek hair was pulled into a high ponytail. Her face was hidden with a mask and sunglasses. Baggy black clothes covered her body. She approached me slowly, stopping a metre in front of me.
“Chrystal Soo Jung-nim, it’s very nice to finally meet you.” She said happily. Her voice dropped, as she hissed in a murderous tone. “I hear you’re dating Kai-oppa.”
I staggered backwards, eyeing her up and down. My back hit against the wall, as she steps forward, cornering me.
She’s dangerous. What do I do? I thought frantically.
My hands began to tremble, as she began speaking with a hideous screeching voice.
“Break up with Kai. Break up with Kai. Break up with Kai!” She chanted
I pushed her away, knocking off her glasses. Behind them were blood red sockets with dark eyebags. Her eye twitched as she glared at me crazily, once again talking in her gruesome voice.
“Who do you care about more? Your relationship with Kai, or your career?” She threatened.
My mind goes blank.
“Break up with Kai, or I’m ending your career.”
I didn’t question her because I knew from her voice, she had the power to do so.
“I’m breaking up with you.” I said coldly, my eyes forced to look away from Kai’s.
I heard him say something, but I couldn’t make out what he said.
I’m sorry.
I’m sorry.
I’m sorry.
I said over and over again, desperately trying to make myself believe what I did was right.
I ran away, guiltily. I can’t face him anymore.
I turned to find an alleyway, the rain hitting heavily on me. I looked up at the sky, tears marking my face.
My life can go on, but my heart can’t move on.
I slumped down onto that floor, sobbing loudly.
I just want to scream my lungs out, and let the world know, just how much I love you.
“Kai, I love you. I really do.” I whispered between sobs. But even the god disapproved of my decision. The clouds turned black, as the rain became heavier.
I remembered what my mom once told me. ‘People say you don’t know what you’ve got until it’s gone. Truth is, you know what you had. You just never thought you’ll lose it.’
I continued crying, the rain accompanying me, in pity.
I was unaware of what I did. I triggered her plan, lighting the fuse, and putting EXO, in danger.
