Chapter 4: Time
Tao’s POV
Hyung is scaring me. His eyes are just a like a wolves. A odd looking logo is engraved onto his left hand. What is that, a drop of water?
We arrived at the hospital to find Xiumin alone in his hospital room. Where are Chanyeol-hyung and Sehun?
“Excuse me, were there any other people here?” I asked the nurse who was passing by.
“Hmm….Just a few minutes ago, another nurse took two boys to bandage them up. They had many cuts and bruise.” She pointed to a nurse with a cap.
The nurse turned around. She was wearing one of the surgery mask, that covered half her face. A cap covered her hair and most of her forehead. All that was visible was her eyes, which looked sunken. Probably from overworking in the hospital.
“Anyoung haseyo.” Suho said politely. We both bowed and asked her if she seen Chanyeol and Sehun. She said that the last time she seen them was when they went back to Xiumin’s room.
“But we were just there!” I exclaimed. I closed my mouth quickly and apologized for speaking so informally.
We headed back to Xiumin’s room before catching a glimpse of red hair that peaked out from her cap. The smell of metal hit me the moment we entered the room. The lights were turned off
.
“H-hello?” I called out nervously. Seriously, the dark creeps me out. I thought I saw something move, and I let out a scream.
“..Tao?”
“Xiumin-hyung?”
“Ne...why are the lights out? I woke up to find it pitch black. I thought I died.”
I pawed at the wall until my hand rested onto the light switch. Why is it wet? I flipped the light switch, as we all gasped in unison. There lay in the middle of the room was the body of our manager.
“H-how? How is this possible!?” I shouted in sheer terror. The door to the room closed with a slam, locking us from the inside.
Suho immediately dialed for the police, as I was traumatized in place. I couldn’t move. I tried checking for his pulse, but I couldn’t find it. He wasn’t breathing! Is he dead!?
“No no no no no no no…” I muttered while clutching my head. “No, this can’t be happening!!? Right!?”
“AHAHAHAHAHA-” I laughed hysterically, before getting slapped by Suho.
“Calm down!” His eyes softened. “Calm down Tao.”
His eyes….they’re back to normal. Maybe I really am seeing things. Am I going crazy!?
The police arrived almost immediately, and the three of us were all questioned. The sky darkened. Just like my mood.
It wasn’t even safe for us to be in the hospital.
Luhan called to tell us that Chanyeol and Sehun were both back in the SM building safe. I breathed a sigh of relief as we got into our van. Our co-manager arranged us a trusty driver, though we were all alert from the scene in the hospital room.
Xiumin was lucky that the blade that he was stabbed with was very small, the size of my pinky. He was released and was riding with us back to the SM building.
“Where to?” The driver asked us with a deep voice. His face was covered with a mask. A hat covered most of his hair, except for a single red strand.
“Get out.” Xiumin hissed.
Suho and I looked at Xiumin who stared back at us with frantic eyes. His eyes, like Suho’s, like a wolf’s. “Now!”
“W-why?” I questioned. “What’s wrong?”
“GET OUT NOW!” He commanded. He opened the door and jumped out. The driver started his car and immediately pressed the gas pedal.
Suho followed suit and jumped out.
“Tao!”
I looked at the driver, his hat was off, revealing...a girl!?
No..
She drove faster, ripping out a something that was hooked onto her ear. Did she modify her voice!? What do I do now!? I looked around desperately trying to find a way out. If I jump out now, cars might run over me….but if I don’t I’m also dead.
“The more you give up..” She sang. “The more you can’t do…” She looked at me through the rearview mirror. “Isn’t that one of your quotes?” She asked.
This can’t be happening...I need to wake up from this nightmare, before it consumes me! I got ready to jump out of the car.
“I wouldn’t…” She said happily. “do that if I were you..” Her voice trembling. Her tone of voice changed quickly from happy to crazy.
I ignored her, my muscles tensing. My heart raced. 3…..2….
“Wherever you run, wherever you hide. I will find you. No matter what. Even if you escape right now. I will capture you later. All in time. Because, I love you. Wait for me Oppas.”
…..1!
I jumped out. My left foot hit the floor first, sending an electric shock up my leg. Damn. I probably twisted it.
My foot lost balanced and I started rolling. Luckily I rolled diagonal and I landed beside the sidewalk. I clawed myself up so I was off the street. I stared at the black van that sped away, it’s licence plate, a blur, blood dripped from my left eye.
She’s after us. She said so herself.
We’ll never be safe.
I stood up, wincing in pain.
A glowing blue mark etched onto his forearm. He brung his right hand, covering his bloody left eye.
The mark turned black, revealing an hourglass.
Author’s POV
‘Time Control’
Tao smirked. The corners of his eyes slants, giving him-for a moment, a fierce and savage look. The tips of his canine gleamed in the dark.
His expression changed his whole face, turning him into someone both intimidating and menacing.
“I’ll find you, no matter what...Even if it kills me.”
