Chapter 6

Maranda’s POV

After GD told everyone that he was having a date with Kat, I took the bags into Min Hyun’s room and put everything away before putting Min Hyun to bed.

I walk back into the kitchen to clean up the mess the boys left. As I am finishing the last dish GD walks in.

“Hey Maranda?” He says sounding nervous.

“Yeah what’s up?” I ask turning around to face him.

He ponders how to ask me a question for a moment. “I’m not sure where to take Kat for our date on Friday.”

“Well you guys are going out at seven so it’s going to be at night.” I say thinking over the question. “Which is the perfect time because she likes the night time. She loves the moon!”

“The moon.” He says thinking.

“What about you just go for a walk in the park? She would love that.”

“Yeah but I want to do something really special. Something she won’t forget.”

“I promise you she is not going to forget that. No one has ever done something like that for her. She usually just goes to do that on her own cause no one wants to go with her.”

“Yeah I guess that’s true.” He says scratching his head. “What about taking her to dinner at least first?”

“Well if you take her somewhere fancy make sure they have lamb.”

“Lamb?” He asks very confused.

“She doesn’t see a point in being at a fancy restaurant that doesn’t have lamb. Otherwise you are “Spending too much money on something you can get at a fast food joint.””

GD laughs at my quote of her. “Ok. So fancy dinner, with lamb, then a walk in the park. That sounds easy enough. Thanks!” He says starting to walk away.

“Wait a sec!” I call after him.

He turns back around concerned this isn’t the right decision. “What did I do wrong?”

“Nothing. But how fancy is this restaurant? I need to know what shoes to put her in.”

Friday at 6:00

I walk up to the door of Kat’s apartment. Walking in I see she has clothes all over the place for me to pick from. All of which are jeans and tank tops.

“Oh no! None of these will work.” I say as she walks into the living room.

“What! Why? Where is he taking me?” She looks concerned.

“I’m not telling. But you need a dress.”

“I hate you.” She says walking into her bedroom.

I follow behind as she flops onto her bed waiting for me to force her into a dress.

“I’m not wearing heels.”

“You’re wearing what I tell you to.” I rummage through her closet picking out a short red dress that always shows off her curves. “Put this on.” I say handing her the dress.

She reluctantly gets off the bed taking the dress from me to put it on. “There happy.” She scoffs as she stands arms crossed showing me the dress.

“Very! Now shoes.” I look through her closet again.

“I know what shoes I can wear!” She shouts behind me.

“No skate shoes.” I say as I continue to look. Kat flops over on the bed again pouting like a child because I won’t let her wear the skate shoes.

I finally find what I’m looking for. A pair of black ankle boots that have a one inch wedge heel. “Put these on and stand up for me.”

She grabs the shoes, puts them on, and then stands there glaring at me.

“Perfect!” I say smiling at her. “Do you know how you want me to do your hair?”

“I don’t care.” She says setting in the chair in front of her vanity.

I start messing with it thinking. I get all of her hair brushed out then start curling it. I decided on a simple curled ponytail with a piece of hair wrapped around the band and a black butterfly clip above it.

“Ok now make-up.” I pick up my bag to get started.

“I have to wear make-up too?” She asks distraught.

“Yes, make-up too.”

I give her extremely subtle make-up so she doesn’t yell at me too much. “Done!” I say throwing my hands up.

She stands up from the chair turning to walk out of the room not even looking at herself. “Looks good.”

I roll my eyes then go into the living room with her to gather up the clothes she had out. We hear a knock on the door and I walk over to answer it.

GD’s POV

Ok Ji Yong. You can do this. Just knock on the door.
I think to myself as I reach out to the door. I hoped I picked the right clothes to wear. I decided on a black suit jacket, red button up shirt, and matching black slacks. Maranda quickly opened after I knocked.

“Hey GD! Kats ready.” She says letting me in as she turns and leaves. “Call me later Kat!”

I see Kat walk around the corner. She looks beautiful as always. “Hey.” She says to me walking over. You can notice the sway of her hips from the way she walks in those shoes. “You ready?” She asks me noticing I’m staring.

“Yeah let’s go.” I say opening the door for her.

We walk down to my car and I hold the door to my black Lamborghini open for her. She gets in then we head to the restaurant I picked out. The valet parks or car and we walk inside.

We get seated immediately when they see it really was me that made the reservation. I pull out Kat’s chair for her then set across.

“You look really nice tonight.” I say trying to make conversation.

“Thanks.” She says picking up her menu. She gets an excited look on her face.

“Find something you like?”

“They have lamb!” She almost shouts. Everyone in the restaurant is looking at us.

I start to laugh at her excitement. “Get whatever you want.”

“Oh I already planned on it. And I’m getting the lamb!”

The waitress comes back and takes our order. I can’t take my eyes away from her as we keep making small talk while waiting for our food.

“I can’t believe how many people are staring.” She says to me.

I look around the room and see almost every woman in the restaurant is watching us while the men they are with gets angry. “I hadn’t noticed.” I say turning back to her. “All I see is you.”

Trying to be smooth I shoot her a smile.

She gets a small blush and looks down at her drink. The waitress comes back to the table carrying a cocktail. “This is from the lady at the table over there.” She says pointing to a table of a group of women.

“Tell them thank you but I’ll have to politely decline.” I say to her.

“Oh. Ok, sorry to interrupt you two.” She says walking back to the bar.

“I’m sorry. Fans sometimes do that. I was hoping it wouldn’t happen tonight.” I say looking embarrassed.

“It’s ok. You can’t help it.” She says smiling at me.

The waitress returns carrying our food this time. We both eat continuing our small talk. Kat got a to go box for the rest of hers before we left.

“Tonight was really nice.” She says to me.

“Well if you don’t want it to be then it doesn’t have to be over yet.”

“What do you mean?”

“I had something else too if you are interested.” I say looking over to her smiling.

“Sounds great!”

I pull over in front of the park and run over to open her door. “I thought we could go for a walk under the moon.”

She gets out of the car with a suspicious smile on her face. I wish I could tell what she was thinking.

We begin walking not saying anything. Just enjoying the scenery. I notice her start to rub her arms with her hands.

“Are you cold?” I ask taking off my jacket to hand it to her.

“Thanks.” She says putting it on. “It’s so pretty out tonight.” She looks up at the stars.

“Everything I have looked at tonight has been beautiful.” I tell her while hoping she doesn’t see me blush.

“Well you have been trying to be smooth as hell all night.” She starts laughing at her joke and possibly me.

“Hey you haven’t ran screaming yet so I think it has been working.” I say laughing back at her.

“You would be right on that.” She puts her hands to her sides and I take that as an opportunity to grab one. We interlock our fingers as we continue walking. After a few laps around the park we go back to the car for me to take her home.

I walk her to the door of her apartment. “Tonight was great.” She says to me.

“I enjoyed being with you.”

“There’s that smoothness again.” She says smiling at me.

“Well was I smooth enough that you would want to do this again?” I ask her hopeful.

“Yes. We can.” She says turning around to unlock her door. She turns back around to say something and I cut her off kissing her.

I break away and look into her eyes. “Goodnight.” I say taking my hands away.

“Goodnight.” I turn around and walk to my car to head home.
