Please Don't Get Too Friendly

"I really feel like I should do something for you guys, as a thanks for letting me stay here," I insisted as I followed the three guys around the house annoyingly.

Chanyeol turned around and grabbed both my arms to keep me in place.

"Amy," he sighed. "It's really okay, you know? It doesn't matter one bit to us if you just laze around all day instead of doing chores or things like that."

"What's more, Xiumin hyung loves to clean. Won't you let him have his fun? The poor guy, stuck with us. He needs to do his things by himself sometimes," added Sehun jokingly.
"Well, I don't know for you guys, but I have a feeling she is a really good cook and I can't say I don't want to taste one of her meals sometimes," ventured Baekhyun while looking somewhere else as if he was embarrassed. Him, embarassed? You got to be kidding. This might be the first time I've seen him like that.
The other two nodded appreciatively and it was decreted that I was the one that would cook that night, and if it was to their taste, the day after as well. Once the time came, it was around 1:30 PM, we decided to go to the company to visit the CEO. My heart began to pound faster as we got closer to SM Entertainment. I kept thinking about how I would introduce the situation, and what he would tell me. Would he say that it's unprofessionnal of me to complain? Or would he decide to fire her? Would he stop our debut because we wouldn't have a manager anymore? Those were all the things I feared. Suddenly, I felt a hand touch mine and I looked to my left, to see a slightly blushing Chanyeol cover my hand with his. I blushed as well and looked at the other side, trying to make it seem it seem natural not to catch Sehun and Baekhyun's attention. Fortunately, they were at the back babbling and playing, so they couldn't see. Once we arrived, the giant beside me took back his hand and we all got out in the cold temperature, although my hand still burned from his touch. We got in as some fans noticed us and went crazy. I pulled my hood over my face, hoping no one would notice me and instead think that I was an EXO member. We went into the elevator and silently moved to the CEO's office's floor. The closer we got, the more stressed we all became. I gulped as the doors opened and we stepped through, walking towards the secretary's desk slowly.

"How may I help you?" the beautiful woman asked, looking confused.

"We're here to see the CEO," I announced as my voice shook slightly.

"Did you take an appointment? I didn't notice any on his schedule-"

"It's highly important," interrupted Chanyeol as he leaned forward. "This concerns the young lady here and he rpotentially dangerous manager, you see."

The secretary stared at him in the eye, trying hard enough for us to notice not to blush. She nodded quickly and called the CEO in his desk to see if he was available for us.

"You may go in," she said as she got up and led us to the office of Lee Soo Man. My heart beat at its fastest every step of the way. When the lady opened the door, I felt like running away and never coming back again. But with my three supporting friends by my side, my heart told me stay right where I was and show that recording to the person in power to do something, hopefully what was right. When we stepped in, the man seated behind his desk eyed us and motioned for us to sit.

"I believe something very urgent happened for you to come visit me without warning? Go ahead, tell me. Oh," he said as he noticed me. "You're here too, Amy Lee. Might this have to do with you?"

I had been hiding behind the tall Chanyeol, but I guess that my hiding wasn't subtle enough for the CEO not to notice me. I took a deep breath and stepped forward.

"Yes, sir. This has to do with only me, but they insisted on accompanying me here. Please do not punish them for the incovenience I brought up."

"It's all right, I was tired of doing paperwork anyway," he answered softly before smiling kindly. "What is the problem, that I might be of help?"

"Well... That is... Sir, yesterday, you called my manager, Sok Jung Ah. Am I correct?"

He nodded, staring at me intently. My hands trembled as I continued.

"She told you I was asleep and tired, so you couldn't speak with me. But the truth is, she didn't even come to pick me up after the set, nor did she call to know wether she could come fetch me or not. Luckily, the EXO members were kind enough to lift me, after I had told them I didn't want to make my manager drive so late in the night. But once I came home, I overheard your conversation and I couldn't help but feel I had to record what happened."

"Maybe because of too much drama viewing?" he hinted jokingly.

I blushed and nodded before clearing my throat and spoke up again.

"I...I recorded what she said after, and it shocked me... It really did. I was a mess after, it hurt me so bad. I'm showing this to you so you can decide what to do about... well, this."

I reached my phone in my pockets with trembling hands and put it delicately on the wooden desk. I press on the 'play' button and listen nervously to the once soothing voice of Jung Ah unnie. Now, it seemed harsh and hateful, and it scared me. To think that someone so nice was in fact so... Wait. Seung Hye did warn me about people stabbing me in the back. Did she know? That Jung Ah unnie felt that way? I carefully analyzed his face as he listened to the recording. I could see that towards the end, he had become more surprised and... sad? At the end, he looked up at me again, closed his eyes and sighed.

"I'm so very sorry, Amy. But I cannot say that this wasn't predicatble for me." Seeing our confused looks, he spoke up again. "You see, as she said in the recording, she was a trainee with your parents. Yes, believe it or not, they were trainees with SM, under my care. I held them dear, just like I do with you today. They were so very talented, everyone knew abou them and anticipated their debut highly. They formed a tight group of friends wih two other people, including Sok Jung Ah. As you may have understood, she loved your father ever since she first saw him, but he only had eyes for your, must I say, beautiful mother. When they started going out, secretely of course, Jung Ah became so jealous that she drove them into a corner by taking pictures of them and blackmailing them with them. They tried to make her believe they had broken up, but it was too late. She had become too obsessed with your father and tried to force him to marry her, but he flat out refused and she showed their pictures to the disciplining commitee. They were forced to quit their training and with my help, they moved to America to get married and have you. I guess she never forgave them, and decided to get her revenge with you, their overachieving daughter."

I listened to him with my heart squeezed so tight I couldn't breathe. I never knew my parents had gone through all that. And she was their close friend! How could she do that? Had I been in her place, I would have wished them the best of luck. Everything in my head kept spinning and my view blurred a bit, making me lose my balance. I felt an easily recognizable hand secure me by holding my waist and I got stabilized. I thanked the CEO and we all got out of the suffocating office. Outside the building, I took a deep breath in and we all quickly got into the van. Inside of it, we all looked at each other, not knowing what to say. I could see that the guys were looking for ways to cheer me up. I smiled softly at them.

"Guys, it's going to be fine. He's going to call me when he has taken a decision."

They all nodded and we headed back to their dorm, where I would be spending the next few nights.

Those guys helped put my world in its rightful place, after a lot of trials... But I'm eternally grateful to them, and to him.

Hi there! Sorry I didn't update yesterday, I didn't have much time on my hands. And I went to go watch the whole Harry Potter series with my sisters and my mom, but we're only at the fourth one ^^
I hope you liked this chapter so far, sorry for the big monolgue there :) So now you know what happened before! What do you think about their past?
