As Blind As Could Be...

….25th Seoul Music Awards

Exo has just been called up for the “Daesang Award,” still in their performance clothing. You sit. You sit behind everyone, so no one notices your there. You smile, slightly, at how their doing. Your taking a break from promotions in China because you are the leader and your needed for the upcoming concerts. No one knows your back, only the staff there, which you greeted just as you came in… 10 minutes ago. (Daesang Award is the GRAND PRIZE the best award you can win).

“Ne. For three years in Seoul Music Awards, we have received the Daesang Award…” Suho does your part for you and gives a long speech, then Baekhyun speaks as well.

Then they talk about Kai’s birthday…

“It’s Kai’s birthday today and you also received an award. In EXO, the best dance is Kai.” The host starts.

“Me.” Baekhyun interrupts as a joke and Kai acknowledges happily. [If you don’t understand lol Baekhyun’s saying as a joke that he is better than Kai]

You laugh. Ah, I missed these boys. Has it really been two months?

“Kai, please show us some of your dancing. A ceremony for winning this award.”“Ceremony!” Chanyeol shouts.

“Go Kai!” The boys cheer him on like nine times.

“Please show us a spin.”

And, Kai being polite, does his thing, ending with a ‘cool’ pose showing his booty lol.

“Kai-shi, you have something to say?” Host asks.

He explains how he’s thankful and happy and thankful and gives you and Lay a shoutout for not being there…

“It’s really unfortunate that our leader, or Honey-shi and Lay-shi couldn’t be here today. But, I’m wishing them the best of luck and they’ve already sent me birthday messages this morning…”

Your handed a microphone.

“Well actually…” The host says.

The boys blink in confusion.

“Happy Birthday Kkamjong.” You say with a calm, meaningful voice into the microphone and fans go INSANE.

Everyone looks around to find you, and when they do, they all have shocked looks on them. You’ve changed, a lot. Your hair is longer, smoother, glossy, wavy, dyed blood-orange, making you look so satisfying and bold. You have glasses on because your eyesight is ify. Your wearing matching clothes with the boys.

You get up from your chair that was in the back and walk slowly. Your heart beating fast, about to approach them. It’s only been months, but it feels like years. The other groups stand up and clap, bowing to you as you walk up onto the stage. They know how powerful you are as a leader. You don’t even have to say anything.

“Happy Birthday.” You smile, standing right in front of Kai.

He breathes are quick, heart beating fast, blinking his eyes thrice.

He doesn’t even say a word. You find yourself in his arms as he wraps them around your torso, tight. His face is buried in your shoulder and you feel your clothes getting wet from his tears. You hug him back tightly. Fans scream and shout, “Don’t Cry.”. Groups stay standing and clapping, some giving a “whoo”. The others join in the hug, some in tears, some just happy, some about to scream.

“YEOWANGGGGG!” Chen literally screams into the microphone and jumps around.

You laugh and let go of Kai’s embrace. He wipes his tears and sniffs, you mimic his pouty face and wipe the tears he missed. You wink at him and ruffle his hair. Suho hands you the award and you turn your attention to you audience.

“ANNYEONGHASEYOOOOO!” You smile and shout and audience gets noisier.

[Audience meaning both sasaengs (fans) and groups]

“Ne, today is a very memorable day. First of all, I would like to wish Kai, for the fiftieth time, but it still matters, a Happy Birthday (...). As well as my brother, though all of these crazy wolves are my brothers, my biological brother, Kyungsoo (...) Happy Birthday. And to all the EXO-L’s who are born today, I thank you for being in my life. It’s been two months, exactly, since I’ve seen my members and all the people (you gesture Taehyung, GD and Taeyeon) that I haven’t seen in a long time. Sorry for being gone so long~ (you bow). Honestly, I don’t think we deserve this award. Though, we are known for being the most popular kpop group worldwide, all the other groups were really successful this… ani, last year. Shout out to Big Bang (...), BTS (...), SNSD (...), Super Junior (...), AILEE (...), EXID (...), 17 (...), GOT7 (...), Red Velvet (...), Shinee (...), BTOB (...), PSYYYYYY (...) ne basically all the kpop groups out there, you were all successful. In my mind, I’m giving each of the groups a piece of this (holds award up) award. Also because I physically can’t break this award since I’m not strong enough (brings laughter). But that’s enough of me talking, I’m sure everyone’s waiting for another award or performance to come on, so I’ll just shut up now (brings more laughter). SHOUT OUT TO LAYYYYYYYYYYYYY (...)!!!!!!!!!! GAMSAHABNIDA!” You bow 180 degrees three times, in three directions.

While the others are giving their thank you speeches, you wait. Kyungsoo comes to you and hugs you for a long time. You caress his hair, there was no talking, because you knew what you both were going to say to each other. ‘Sibling Telepathy.’ Kyungsoo let’s go of the embrace because it’s his turn to talk.

You walk to Chanyeol and interlock your hands with his, causing fans to notice and scream. Chanyeol let’s go of you interlock and bear hugs you, lifting you up a little. Kai comes over and lifts the two of you up. Because you and Chanyeol together weighed more than half the kilograms Kai weighs, things come unbalanced and you three fall over, laughing.

“Yah! I’m talking!” Kyungsoo pisses are you three and you get up quickly bowing.

Kyungsoo smiles. “LAY SARANGHAE!”

“GAMSAHABNIDA! WE’LL CONTINUE TO WORK HARD AND GIVE IT OUR ALL!” You all scream into the microphone.

You are the first one to walk down the stage and immediately run to BTS, who table was placed next to EXO’s. You hug Taehyung so tight, tighter than the rest of the group members. You ruffle Suga’s mint hair and he gets pissed off. You laugh as pinch his cheeks. You and Jungkook do the BTS secret handshake that V taught you how to do and fans go wild.

You then bow and join the rest of your members, realising you didn’t have a chair. GD comes and brings his chair for you.

“For our Queen (says Yeowang).” GD teases and everyone laughs.

You hug GD, first caressing his hair, then messing it up.

“Yah!” He complains. “You need a punishment.”

“And what’s that?” You smile.

“Come sit with me and the guys.” GD offers.

“No.” Kyungsoo, Kai and Chanyeol say at the same time.

“Sorry, ‘no’ is not an option.” GD takes your hand and runs, forcing you to run along with him.

“Yah! I have heels on, I might trip.” You complain.

“Good point.” GD stops.

He picks you up bridal style and continues.

“Just like that time when you were in that wedding dress.” GD smirks.

He passes SNSD, Ailee, EXID, Apink, 2NE1, ikon, 17, Shinee and many more to get to the table. They all look at you passing by and the staff airs that part on the big screen, causing the fans to scream to the top of their lungs.

He finally puts you down. You turn around and find Chanyeol and Kai running after. Everyone laughs as Chanyeol re-claims you. He picks you up, bridal style like GD and runs back. GD tries to follow, but Kai stops him and the rest of Big Bang come to help. Kai ends up on the floor, tickled to death by Big Bang. They wish him a happy birthday and explain that’s his birthday present. They then run towards you and Chanyeol, falling behind.

On the other hand, Chanyeol takes you back to the table and the rest of the EXO members create a wall protecting you and Chanyeol, laughing their butts off.

“Yah! Let us see her!” Taeyang complains.

The big screen is still showing the entire thing, but you had no microphones so the fans couldn’t hear well. But, the cameras filming this had installed mics so they could get a gist of what you were saying.

“Yah!” The host says to all of you and the attention from EVERYONE is put on you guys. “I’m talking here!”

Everyone laughs and apologises. GD takes a microphone.

“Sorry, we’re just playing around.” He bows and everyone goes back to their seats.

EXO Dorm
9pm

“Happy Birthday to you, happy birthday to you! We love you our Jongin, Happy birthday to you!” You all sing as Kai smiles clapping.

He blows out the candles and everyone cheers. You sit down in the living room, waiting for Kai to open his presents.

“Whaaaa~!” Kai smiles. “Kyungsoo-ah! You know me so well! Thank you hyung!”

He shows everyone the huge stuffed animal that looked like his doggies or “babies” Kyungsoo gave him.

“Ah!” You say getting up. “I almost forgot.”

“What is it?” Kai asks.

You take out a present from your suitcase and hand it to him.

“It’s from Lay.” You smile.

He exhales, opening the gift so that no wrapping paper was ripped. Everyone waits impatiently, except you because you know what it is already.

“It’s a… flash drive?” Kai laughs. “All that wrapping was for a flash drive?”

“He knew you’d react that way.” You laugh. “Give it to me, we’ll watch it on television. Trust me, I think it’s worth more than any present you got today.”

“Ani, you being here is the best present I could ever get.” Kai replies and Chanyeol elbows him.

Xiumin comes and helps you set it up.

“It’s playing, it’s playing, it’s playing!” Baekhyun says.

You hurry back, sitting in between Chen and Sehun.

The movie starts.

“Happy Birthday Kai.” Lay smiles.

He recorded this part in the hotel. You were in the back, wearing your pajamas, on the bed, eating pizza. The pizza box was on the bed.

“Yah that’s my shirt!” Chanyeol points out. “HAH! You do wear it.”

“SHHHHHH~” Kai hushes him.

“I’m sorry I’m not able to be there right now, you know how busy my schedule is. I wish you good luck with everything. I promise next year I will be there to celebrate your birthday. I miss you and everyone! I love you! I hope you enjoy this movie I put together. It’s not much, but it’s something I know is meaningful. I had the help of Eunsoo-ah and her parents to find this information out. Also the help of other’s, but don’t worry, you’ll see them in the movie. Happy 23rd birthday!” Lay bows and it cuts off.

“Oh! Our Kai looks so handsome on his second birthday doesn’t he?” Kai’s mother says behind the camera.

“Do I mom?” Kai says cutely with his high voice.

Everyone laughs at Kai’s high voice.

“Very much!” She replies.

It then shows him on many birthdays blow out his candles. (From his second birthday to his birthday last year, it shows him blowing out the candles.) It shows how he changed throughout the years.

There were tears in his eyes.

“How did you find this?” Kai wipes his tears and refers to you.

“Shhh, watch til the end.” You smile.

You receive a facetime request from Lay and accept it, showing Lay Kai’s reaction to the movie. Your volume is down so no one heard Lay.

It shows various birthday wishes from everyone Kai knows. From his middle school friends to Taemin of Shinee to Super Junior to Red velvet, etc. Then… it shows his parents.

“Son…” His father starts. “Happy 23rd birthday my son. I’m sorry that I’m not there to tell you in person. I know we aren’t on good terms right now. I just want to let you know I’m sorry for shutting you out and being the smaller person. You are very successful and I am really proud to call you my son. And there’s something you probably didn’t know…. your mother… is in a better place. She… would’ve wanted you to pursue your dreams only living in happiness. (he clears his throat, wiping a tear away and you hand him a tissue) I know you have people right now who are taking my place and your mother’s place for you as your family, like this beautiful girl standing behind the camera right now. (you laugh a little). I hope they continue to change you, mend you and affect you in the ways I couldn’t. Happy Birthday. I love you.”

Kai starts bursting out in tears, whimpering and the members show sympathy towards him.

“She’s really dead.” Kai whispers and Chanyeol hugs him tight.

“It’s going to be alright.” Chanyeol says.

“He did this for me?” Kai says in between his breathes.

You turn up the volume and hand your phone to Kai.

“Do you like it?” Lay smiles. “Happy birthday my Jongin-ah.”

“If you were here right now, I would squeeze you to death.” Kai laughs a little. “Thank you so much. I didn’t know my parents still had these videos of me. They told me they threw them away.”

Everyone saddens.

“I hope everything is okay.” Lay says. “I don’t have much time and I have to go. ‘Go Fighting’ starts recording in 30 minutes and I have to get ready. We’re doing an all nighter episode. I’ll call you later.”

“Eo. Thank you hyung. I love you.” Kai says. “I’m hanging up first.”

END CALL.

The atmosphere changed.

“Y-yah.” You start. “A birthday party shouldn’t be like this! Let’s watch a funny movie.”Suho puts a movie on and you all start watching it.

You rest your head on Chen’s shoulder (he’s to your right). Sehun comfortably puts his head on your lap and uses his body to take up the rest of the space on the couch. Sehun’s legs were resting on the lap of Kyungsoo and Suho.

There was laughter and clapping from everyone.

“Ah, I’m tired.” Sehun yawns in the middle of the movie.

He turns his head and shifts his position to face you. He puts his arms around your torso hugs it. He closes his eyes and secretly kisses your stomach.

“I’m glad your back Yeowang.” He yawns once more.

You caress his hair gently, which makes him fall asleep faster. His left cheek pressed up against your stomach and his face was facing up a little. You look down at Sehun and smile, continuing to caress his hair. Chen puts his arm around you. You lift Sehun up a little, moving your legs to lay like his, on Suho’s and Kyungsoo’s lap. You rest your head on Chen’s lap. Sehun moves around, feeling uncomfortable. He moves himself up and rests his head on your chest (above your breasts, below your shoulders), still hugging you. You puts your arms around Sehun like he did you and you fall asleep.

10 am

You wake up, but find yourself stuck. Sehun was still hugging you tight. Your hands are numb, but you don’t bother moving. You look around and see your still in the living room. Suddenly, you remember the couches in the living room can turn into beds. Chanyeol was on your other side, spooning you. Kai and Kyungsoo were cuddled together next to Sehun. The other four (Baekhyun, Suho, Xiumin, Chen) were sleeping on the other couch. You sigh and just decide to sleep more. You kiss Sehun’s hair and he reacts by kissing your chest. You widen your eyes.

“Your awake.” You say weakly with your morning voice.

“Eo. But I don’t want to get up. I like being like this noona.” He yawns.

“Noona? But I’m younger than you.” You laugh a little. “I remember you called me that on the day you took me out to bubble tea in high school. I didn’t realize it then, but your older than me.”

“I still like calling you that.” Sehun kisses your chest once more.

“YAH!” Chanyeol says with his morning voice.

He pinches Sehun’s side, making him scream, waking everyone else up. You laugh and are the first to literally rise. Sehun being Sehun doesn’t let go of you and gets up with you.

“Yah!” Kai says pissed. “Kyungsoo’s trying to sleep.”

You blink your eyes to see Kyungsoo and Kai cuddling tightly. Their legs were tangled and Kai was shirtless.

“Wow.” You say.

“Did we forget to tell you? They’re dating.” Baekhyun smirks, shooting himself up. “I’ll order chicken for breakfast.”

“EO!” Everyone replies except for you, Kai and Kyungsoo.

You keep blinking, processing what Baekhyun just told you.

------

While you were in the room getting dressed, Kai comes in. He doesn’t bother to look away from your exposure.

“Did the chicken come yet?” You reply.

“Ani, but I’m really hungry.” Kai says taking his shorts off and putting jeans on.

You pull your bra down and put a gray loose sweater on.

“When did it start?” You ask, referring to Kai’s and Kyungsoo’s relationship.

“I don’t know.” Kai stops. “I was really stressed one night… Kyungsoo was the only one that could calm me down, well I mean besides you. You weren’t there so Kyungsoo took your place. But… the way he calmed me down was different than yours.”

He reviews that night…



He then continues to pull his shirt on. You watch him… or waited for him because you finished changing.

“I’m glad.” You smile. “I’m glad you two are there for each other in that type of relationship.”

“Y-you aren’t mad?” Kai blinks.

“Not at all. I noticed that the only person that could calm the both of you down was me. I was the one who helped both of you get through everything. That’s what made our relationship different from anyone else. But, now that you have each other, I don’t have to be so worried.” You hug Kai.

“I’m glad you and Chanyeol are in a relationship.” Kai rests his head on your shoulder. “To be honest, at first… I wanted you to myself. But I know I was too attached to you. I couldn’t learn how to move on from you… my first love. Kyungsoo taught me. When I first saw Chanyeol kiss you on the day you were leaving to promote in China with Lay, I couldn’t stand it. When you left, I… beat Chanyeol up. But now… if I see you and Chanyeol together, I have no reaction… because I have Kyungsoo. And now in the end, we both got what we wanted. To be loved. But I still love you Eunsoo. You are forever my first love and the best mother I could ever ask for.”

“I love you too.” You caress his hair.

“You still are the most important person in my life Eunsoo-ah. Kyungsoo is second. And that’s never going to change.” Kai says.

“C’mon, let’s go. The others are waiting.”

Kai puts an arm around you and you walk together into the dining room. Chanyeol flicks Kai’s away and takes his place, kissing you on the cheek. Kai shrugs and goes to Kyungsoo, who set up Kai’s plate for him.

“Let’s eat!” You say and everyone digs in.

Chanyeol feeds you while Kai feeds Kyungsoo. Chen and and Baekhyun imitate you guys buy feeding each other causing laughter.

You guys go the dance studio and review the dances together since it’s been two months. After hours, everyone stops for a lunch break.

You sit down, back against the mirror wall and observe Kai and Kyungsoo.

“Should I?” Kai asks.

“Eo. Lemme see a freestyle.” Kyungsoo replies.

Kai creates his own weird music as he dances and Kyungsoo laughs. You smile.



Chanyeol stands in front of you stealing your attention away from them.

“Can I have this dance?” Chanyeol asks.

You blush and take his hand. He helps you get up and places music through his phone. Music comes out of the speaker in the studio. He spins you and turns you and all you feel is love from him, realising how attracted you are to him. He smiles.





Kai and Kyungsoo join in on the dance. Everyone else follows grabbing their own partner as a joke.

The funny thing was, Kai and Kyungsoo didn’t know how to dance together so they started awkwardly lmfao…


Everyone laughs in response.

Chanyeol and you look at each other… then each other’s lips… and kiss away.

Ne… ireoke. I want them to keep smiling. I want EXO to keep smiling. This is the way it has to be.
