The Roller Coaster That Is Life

Chapter 7: Moving

Nita's POV

It had taken Nita more than an hour to finish up her paperwork and id things. One wouldn't think that so much time was required to get started as an employee. She had come in the morning and it was almost time for dinner, she still had to go to the new house and get her things organized and sorted before she could go to bed, and she was starving, so she still had groceries to pick up, because she was sure the new house wouldn't have anything but everyone's belongings. She had called Donghae almost an hour ago, to come and get her, but for some reason he was running late. She was still pacing the front entrance of the building.
*GRRRRRRRR*
Cue weird stomach noise, she put her hand on her stomach, "I wish he would get here, already, uhh!!"
"Sounds like you haven't eaten yet," someone said to her, she turned around to find Youngbae, looking at her with one raised eyebrow.
"That's because I haven't, even my stomach is protesting at Donghae's tardiness," Nita said looking out the glass windows and doors.
"Why didn't you eat?" Daesung asked, they'd all congregated where she was pacing.
"I was too nervous this morning, part of me was afraid I'd end up vomiting or something, from all the nervousness," she answered honestly, there was no reason to lie.
"What was there to be so nervous about?" Jiyong asked, Nita was turning around in her pacing, when she heard his voice. She'd heard his music so many times, and she could pick apart each member's voice from a song, but it happened again, that shiver went down her spine.
"Honestly," she said, looking him in the eye, "it's YG Entertainment, if the name doesn't get you shaking, then looking at the people that represent the company. 2NE1, Big Bang," she said pointing out the pictures on the walls, there were large blown up pictures of each group or person YG runs with, "to work with such extraordinary talents, generally means one has to try their best to help those people out. The same can be said for someone who wants to become an idol, they would be just as nervous, if not more, because they would feel like they have to level up to everyone. Plus, Big Bang and 2NE1 are known as international stars, they have fan bases all over the world."
Nita risked a glance at them all, they looked surprised.
"What? Was something I said wrong?" she asked then turned back around to see if her ride was here or not, the latter was the case, Donghae had still not arrived.
"You're not shy, are you?" Seungri asked, giving her an exasperated look.
"I'm just honest, I don't believe in beating around the bush," she answered back, shrugging her shoulders.
"So, who's your favorite member?" T.O.P asked, with a knowing smirk on his face.
Nita looked at all the guys, every one of their faces had a hopeful look, as if they were thinking, please let it be me. Nita laughed and decided that she was going to let them figure it out on their own.
"What's so funny?" Jiyong asked, a smile breaking out on his face too.
"I'll tell you guys what, I'll let you guys figure out who my favorite member is or are. When you've figured it out let me know and I'll tell you if you're right or wrong." She answered with a smirk, she knew it probably wouldn't take them long to figure out who her favorites were. She looked out the windows again, still not seeing anyone pull up.
*GRRRRRRRRRR*
This time it echoed, and they all looked at her. She knew she was turning red from embarrassment.
Jiyong laughed, she looked at him questioningly, "that's the second time, don't you think you should just go get something to eat," he said.
"I'm waiting for Donghae, he's supposed to come and get me, then I still have to organize my things and make dinner," Nita said, while mentally make her new to-do list.
"You cook?" asked Daesung, not really surprised, but more curious.
Nita nodded, she really didn't know what was so surprising about her knowing how to cook, it was a basic means of survival. What was so surprising about it?
"Korean dishes?" asked T.O.P, with yet another raised eyebrow. She was beginning to get tired of the raised eye brows, they did look cute when they did it thought, her fan girl chimed in. She mentally pushed her fan girl back in the closet of solitude.
"I know how to cook most things, just not Korean, yet," she said while smiling.
"So what do you know how to cook?" Seungri asked, holding out a can of cold coffee.
She looked at it and took it, he had been thoughtful enough to get her something, "thank you," she said bowing, "I'm good at some American, Italian, and Mexican. I'm best with Indian food, I like spicy foods, so that works out well."
"I heard something about spicy food, you hungry, Nita?" a voice came from the door, she looked to find Donghae and Siwon walking in.
She had already downed the small can of cold coffee, she chunked it at Donghae, hitting him right on the forehead, "YEA!! It took you long enough, you know how long I've been waiting. I still have so much to do. What took you so long?"
Donghae was rubbing his forehead and scowling at Siwon, "Mr. Diva here wanted to come with, but was still in sweats and a t-shirt, he had to shower and get dressed properly before walking out the door," Donghae added air quotation marks to get dressed properly.
"Kaja, I still have to pick my things from the apartment," she said, turning around to head outside.
She turned her head to the others and said, "We can talk some more later, I'll be by once I've grabbed my things from his place," she finished while nodding her head towards Siwon.
"We've already moved all your things to the house," Siwon said, stopping abruptly.
"That's great, then why don't we all just meet at the house and have dinner together," Seungri said with a smile.
Nita wasn't sure if anyone else noticed it but, Siwon was basically glaring at Jiyong, you could see the daggers flying out. She wasn't sure what that was about, but she was beginning to feel uncomfortable. They were basically rivals from two separate companies, but had equal stats in the international market. She could see that this might not end well.
"I don't see why we can't do that, plus her surprise is already at the house too," chimed in Donghae. Clearly neither of those two noticed the tension between the two guys.

Siwon's POV

Siwon had spent most of the day figuring out how he was going to tell the truth to Nita. In hindsight, he could have told her the same night he had met her. Now it seemed harder to tell her the truth, part of him was afraid of losing her after he told her, the other part was afraid of her reaction if she found out on her own. He realized how important she was to him when he had boarded the plane for the states, to go get her things. He didn't know what made him want to do that. Super Junior was working on a new single and there was so much to do in between that time, but he was adamant about it, took a week off as personal time and went. Maybe it had been all the stories she had shared with them about her family and their antics that made him want to go see, what caused such drastic change. He knew that her relationship with two other guys is what got her family upset, but part of him believed that they missed her as much as she missed them. Not only had he been wrong, but he saw how much damage one lie could cause.
Now Siwon was at the same bridge and he didn't know what the outcome would be after crossing it. She would know once she saw her belongings in her new room. She would piece all the pieces together and know that he'd read her journal. He knew it wasn't a good idea when he first opened it, but he was curious. How was it said in English, "Curiosity is what killed the cat," he smiled to himself. Siwon knew that his curiosity is what was going to kill him.
Hours Later
He had been able to pull another two hours from meeting her. Okay, he didn't have to go with Donghae, but he hadn't seen her and he wanted to see her. Donghae had been coming every five minutes to see if he was done, Siwon deliberately took longer than necessary,
"How much longer are you going to take, she's been waiting for almost two and a half hours. I told her I'd been there on time, hurry up will you," Donghae yelled through the door. Siwon looked into the mirror and told himself, "she'll forgive me and everything will be alright," he said more to convince himself. He couldn't hold off any longer. He grabbed his jacket and walked out.
"Come on, let's go," Donghae said grabbing his car keys and walking out the door. Siwon felt a strong sense of dreed in the pit of his stomach. They both got into the car and headed to pick Nita up.
"Is something bothering you, Siwon," Donghae asked a little while after they had left.
"It's nothing you need to worry about," Siwon said, looking out the windshield of the car.
"Does it have to do something with getting Nita's things," Donghae asked, he wasn't going to let this go, Siwon thought.
"I don't think I should have done it," Siwon answered, kind of regretting what he had done.
"Why," Donghae asked, again.
"I meet her family there. I was curious if they'd miss her as much as she missed them, but no one even asked about her. I asked someone if they knew where she was and this person, just looked at me with a cold stare and said, that he didn't care if she was lying in a ditch somewhere dying, as long as anything that reminded them of her was gone, it didn't matter. Could you imagine your own family saying something like that," Siwon said, not sure if he still believed what he had heard. Apart from telling Nita about reading her journal, he was afraid that she would ask him about her family. What was he going to say? Anything he had heard would hurt her, there wasn't one person in that house that cared about her.
Siwon looked over at Donghae, his face looked worried now too, "you're worried she's going to ask about her family," he merely stated what he was thinking.
"Neh, she doesn't need to know what they said," Siwon was contemplating on how to avoid any of those kinds of questions, but maybe she wouldn't bother thinking about it when he told her about reading her journal.
"We'll figure something out if she asks," Donghae said reassuringly. Siwon felt a small amount of relief on hearing those words, "now we have to suffer the wrath of Nita," he said, as he parked outside of the YG building. They got out and walked through the door. Nita was talking to someone, "I heard something about spicy food, you hungry, Nita," asked Donghae.
Siwon hadn't even thought about that, he knew she hadn't eaten much the night before and she hadn't had any breakfast this morning either. He felt guilty, the feeling doubled when an empty can of coffee hit Donghae on the head and Nita yelled, "YA!! It took you long enough, you know how long I've been waiting. I still have so much to do. What took you so long?"
Donghae was rubbing the spot where the can landed on his head and pointed at Siwon, "Mr. Diva here wanted to come with, but was still in sweats and a t-shirt, he had to shower and get dressed properly before walking out the door," adding over exaggeration to the statement.
She quickly walked towards them and turned them around, pushing them back out the door, "Kaja, I still have to pick up my things from the apartment," she paused a moment, turned her head back to the others, "we can talk some more later, I'll be by once I've grabbed my things from his place," nodding her head towards him.
Figures, no one had told her that her things were already at the new house, along with her two surprises, "we've already moved all your things to the house," he stopped, and she ran into his back. From the corner of his eye he noticed G-Dragon smiling and watching Nita. Siwon didn't like the look in his eyes, it was the same look Siwon noticed himself giving Nita. Some of the members even gave him crap for it, when they'd see him doing it in a group picture, or when they are all hanging out. Siwon knew he was glaring at G-Dragon, but he didn't care.
"That's great, then why don't we all just meet at the house and have dinner together," one of the others said.
Siwon didn't care where they had dinner, but he was going to have to keep an eye on this Dragon, because there was just something about the way he looked at her that he didn't like.
"I don't see why we can't do that, plus her surprise is already at the house too," Donghae practically sang that, off key too. They all headed towards the doors to go home.

G-Dragon's POV

The day had gone by faster than he expected, they had taken care of most of the recording and were on their way to leave to have dinner somewhere. Jiyong was happy with everyone's progress in their work, expect for his. He was still having trouble with his song, it was frustrating.
"Any ideas on what we're going to eat," asked Daesung. Jiyong shrugged his shoulders, he really didn't have an appetite.
"Whatever sounds good to you, food's food," Youngbae added, Jiyong smiled at that, it was a "Youngbae" thing to say.
"Okay!! This'll be fun," Seungri shouted, sometimes he really did act like a kid, Jiyong just shook his head.
"Hey, isn't that Nita," T.O.P asked, nodding towards the entrance doors, sure enough their she was, pacing back and forth.
*GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR*
They all looked at each other, Jiyong was about to ask her if she wanted to join them when Youngbae said, "Sounds like you haven't eaten yet," Jiyong looked at her, one hand was on her stomach and she kept pacing back and forth. Wouldn't pacing back and forth make you more hungry, he thought.
"I swear, I've seen her somewhere before, I swear," Seungri whispered moving closer to him.
Jiyong looked at her and Daesung asked, "Why didn't you eat?"
"I was too nervous this morning, part of me was afraid I'd end up vomiting or something, from all the nervousness," she said, looking out the window again and pacing. That spiked his curiosity, "What was there to be so nervous about," he asked, wanting to know what was going through her mind.
"Honestly, it's YG Entertainment, if just the name doesn't get you shaking, then looking at the people that represent the company should. 2NE1, Big Bang," she pointed to the pictures on the walls, " to work with such extraordinary talents, generally means one has to try their best to help those people out. The same can be said for someone who wants to become an idol, they would be just as nervous, if not more, because they would feel like they have to level up to everyone. Plus, Big Bang and 2NE1 are known as international stars, they have fan bases all over the world," she finished, Jiyong was surprised by how quickly and honestly she gave her reply, he had excepted something that she had spent hours practicing in front of a mirror to say to them. The look of surprise must have been on his face, "what? Was something I said wrong," she asked and once again turned to look out the window again.
"You're not shy, are you?" Seungri said, he didn't ask, it was more of a statement. A statement taken right out of Jiyong's mouth, again no rehearsed answer.
"I'm just honest, I don't believe in beating around the bush," she replied, shrugging her shoulders, it was such an American thing to do, he thought. He might as well have called himself a hypocrite.
Jiyong looked towards T.O.P, who was looking at Nita with a smirk on his face, from the looks of it, Seunghyun was planning something, "So, who's your favorite member," he asked her. Jiyong couldn't help but smile, that question was always tricky for any fan girl to answer. Generally they didn't want to make any one member feel bad, so they'd change the subject. Jiyong was curious, he wanted to know if he was her favorite, he looked at her, and then at the others. They all had similar looks on their faces, did they want to know too? That surprised him.
Then laughter was heard in the entry way, she was laughing, "What's so funny," he asked, her laughter made him smile, it looked like she didn't have a worry in the world. He figured that was the case, she really didn't have any worries in the world, unlike him.
"I'll tell you guys what, I'll let you guys figure out who my favorite member is or are. When you've figured it out let me know and I'll tell you if you're right or wrong," she said, with a mischievous smile on her face and then promptly turned around to look out the window.
What was she waiting for?! Jiyong was getting frustrated with her constant pacing and looking out the window.
*GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR*
That's right, she was waiting on someone to come and get her and she hadn't eaten yet. This time it was a loud and clear sound. Jiyong was once again surprised at how calm and collected she looked, if it had been him, he would have been a bit annoyed and angry. But even with everything they were talking about, her stomach made its demands known, he laughed, "that's the second time, don't you think you should just go get something to eat," he said, he was about to ask her if she wanted to join them, "I'm waiting for Donghae, he's supposed to come and get me, then I still have to organize my things and make dinner," she said.
Donghae? Right, she was friends with members of Super Junior, he didn't think they'd really come to get her.
"You cook?" Daesung asked he sounded surprised, but the look on his face said anything but that. Nita just nodded, looked like she'd seen that look before on someone else.
Without a pause, T.O.P asked another question, "Korean dishes?"
"I know how to cook most things, just not Korean, yet," she said with a smile, for some reason that smile made is heart do funny things. It was a new feeling, he didn't even know the woman that well.
"So what do you know how to cook?" asked Seungri giving her a can of coffee. Why hadn't he thought of that? He hadn't even noticed Seungri leave.
She took the can, "I'm good at some American, Italian, and Mexican. I'm best with Indian food, I like spicy foods, so that works out well," she said, looking at Seungri and finishing the coffee.
From the corner of his eye he saw two people walking in, "I heard something about spicy food, you hungry, Nita?" It was Donghae who asked the question. To Jiyong it sounded a bit stupid, you'd think he'd know she'd been waiting for him long enough.
Nita immediately threw the empty can of coffee at him, Jiyong smiled, it was really hard not to laugh out loud, the can had hit him right in the middle of his forehead.
"YA!! It took you long enough, you know how long I've been waiting. I still have so much to do. What took you so long?" she said heatedly, she didn't yell or shout, which once again surprised Jiyong. Most girls would have thrown a fit.
"Mr. Diva here," Donghae said pointing to Siwon, "wanted to come with, but was still in sweats and a t-shirt, he had to shower and get dressed properly before walking out the door," he finished, so Choi Siwon was a diva behind closed doors, who'd have thought? Again Jiyong had to resist the urge to laugh out loud.
Without saying good bye to him or the others she started walking in their direction, and turned them around to head back outside. "Kaja, I still have to pick up my things from the apartment," she turned around and looked at him and the others, "We can talk some more later, I'll be by once I've grabbed my things from his place," she said head pointing towards Siwon. She lived with him? So what were they dating?
"We've already moved all your things to the house," said Siwon, stopping so quickly that Nita ran into him, nearly knocking herself over. Was the guy not paying attention?
"That's great, then why don't we all just meet at the house and have dinner together," Seungri said, leave it to him to change everyone's plans. Jiyong mentally shrugged his shoulders, he looked at Siwon and noticed him glaring. What the hell was his problem?
"I don't see why we can't do that, plus her surprise is already at the house too," Donghae said headed towards the door.
As everyone started walking towards the door to leave, he couldn't help looking in Nita's direction. Donghae had on arm over her shoulders, while Siwon kept looking at her, sneaking peeks like if she were to notice something could go wrong. They must be close if she can relax like that even with others behind them.
"What's wrong," Youngbae asked, giving him a worried look, the others looked at him too.
"Just thinking," Jiyong replied, he eyes still on the three people walking towards a different car.
"About," T.O.P asked following his eyes.
"What do you guys think of her," he asked. Not really sure what to think.
"She's cute," Seungri said with a smile on his face similar to the Cheshire cat.
"Yea, she is cute, but she's honest too, doesn't try to hide what she really thinks," Daesung added.
"Why are you asking, what we think, you worried about something," Youngbae asked getting into the van.
"You saw how close she is with those guys, you don't think she's up to something, do you," Jiyong didn't want to sound suspicious about her, but he knew he did.
"I'm sure Yang Sangnim hired her for a reason," Youngbae said, "you heard him talk about Choi in front of us, it's not like he didn't know about them."
It was true, Yang Sangnim knew about it, but he couldn't get that look that Siwon was giving out of his mind.
"Don't worry, she seems like a good person, I don't think she has an ulterior motive," Daesung added, "to be honest, when I look at her, I see someone who's really been hurt. Something tells me she's escaping something right now."
At that comment, they were all looking at Daesung like he was crazy.
"You got all of that, from a small conversation," asked T.O.P, with both eyebrows raised.
"No, every time we've seen her, she seemed to be deep in thought, and her expression was always somber, but when someone broke her out, she immediately had a smile on her face," Daesung finished.
Talk about analytical, they] guy just dissected her from a couple of meetings. Jiyong thought about the day's events, they had first seen her outside of Yang Sangnim's office, she had been sitting in a chair and stood when she saw them. Jiyong couldn't remember what her expression was like before she saw them, but Daesung noticed. The second time they saw her again, was in the hallway, she was staring out into space. Jiyong could remember then, because he had thought she was about to start crying. But when Seungri got her attention, she was all smiles, she showed nothing. Maybe he was analyzing too much, reading too much into things. She was friends with those guys, maybe she was sad because she had to leave them, he tried not to think about it too much.
"I still think I know her from somewhere, she looks familiar," Seungri said, scratching his head, "I'm sure I have," the expression on his face was priceless, a cross between "Where the hell have I seen her" and "Am I going crazy".
"Maybe in your day dreams after meeting her the first time, don't go having perverted thoughts about our new assistant manager," Youngbae said shaking his head.
"Don't freak her out either," T.O.P added.
"Neh, she's doesn't look like the type to be interested in perverts," Daesung interjected, pushing Seungri's forehand.
"I'm sure, she'll know to keep her distance from you. Women have instincts too," Jiyong added smiling mischievously. They gave Seungri shit for his porn watching tendencies. They all did it, but Seungri got most of the shit for it, he was the youngest.
"We're home," Seungri said, stretching out this arms, while yawning, "I wonder what Nita wants to eat," he added.
Great. He was already thinking about making her dinner, was he her boyfriend or something.
"Didn't she say, that she still had to make dinner," T.O.P asked.
"It doesn't look like anyone's in the house," Daesung looking at the house out the window.
Jiyong wondered how he had made that assumption, one couldn't tell what was going on inside the house while standing outside of it. He also remembered Donghae saying that everyone was at the house, or that they'd already brought her things over, he couldn't remember. There was only one way to find out, he opened the van door, got out and walked towards the house, turned his head back around, "you guys coming, we live here too," he turned his head back to the house and continued walking.
As he made his way to the door, he started hearing noises and voices. He pushed in the passcode for the door and walked in. He was immediately bombarded with what felt like a million stares, and he should've been used to that, but this was different.
"It's just G-Dragon, no worries, let's go and finish putting the rest of this up," Ryeowook said holding a box in his hand.
Well, that was great, their house had become a stop-n-go for the members of Super Junior. He ignored the comment and made his way to the kitchen, hoping that no one was there, but that was a lost cause, they seemed to be everywhere.
"Annyeonghaseyo, I'm Shindong, sorry about the others, they forget they're at someone else's house. Anywhere Nita is, is a carefree zone to them," Shindong said.
"How long have you known her," Jiyong asked, maybe he could figure out what kind of person she was.
"For several months, I've lost track. She's like our sister, but sometimes I question Siwon's interest in her," he whispered the last part, thinking that Jiyong wasn't supposed to hear it, he went on inquiring about Nita.
"You guys trust her," Jiyong asked, sneaking a peek at Shindong.
"You don't," Shindong questioned him back, "she's a good person, if you're going to doubt her, even after she's come clean with Yang Sangnim then you might as well let her go. She doesn't need trouble," Shindong said defensively.
"She has your loyalty," Jiyong said, saying it more for himself than Shindong.
"Siwon meet her first, he trusted her, and she hasn't done anything to make us think otherwise," Shindong said while washing vegetables, "from the way Siwon talks about her, she's been through a lot, at least give her the benefit of the doubt. You don't even know her," he finished washing all the vegetables.
"What are you doing," Jiyong asked, it was obvious he was washing vegetables, but for what?
"I'm sure she's tired and hungry, last night she didn't eat much. And today she was up earlier than usual, she looks after everyone around her, but herself. She likes fried rice with lots of veggies, no eggs. I figured while the others are helping with her things, I'll make dinner for her and everyone else," Shindong began chopping, it was a big pile of veggies. He was cooking for seventeen people or so, it made sense.
"Get to know her, before you make a judgement call, Jiyong. She's different from what we're used to," Shindong said as Jiyong made his way to the stairs to see if his things were set up correctly.
