Sun is up Emma is still up she could not sleep or think about anything except that nobody knows how she feels. She heard Sam making breakfast and get ready for school, he did not call her or tell her to be ready for school. “Even if he tells me to go to school, I will refuse”
Sam left for school, he did not bother to call Emma, or even check if she was okay
“he just left?”
Emma spend half of the day watching videos, listening to music and eating.
*knock knock*
“huh who would it be, its afternoon, is it Sam” Emma opened the door it was an old lady with two men wearing black suits and black glasses, Emma was afraid thinking that someone came to kidnap her while Sam wasn’t there
“Hello, you must be Emma”
“huh! Oh yes, but who are you”
“oh Sorry I didn’t introduce myself, I am Sam’s mother”
“oh sorry I didn’t know you, come in please”
“thank you”
Emma and Sam’s mother went to the living room, while the two men stayed outside.
“I will go make some tea, please excuse me for some minutes”
“yes for sure”
Emma went to the kitchen, “he never told me that he got a mother, maybe I didn’t ask him. How she knew me, hmm maybe Sam told her about me! Ahh I really don’t know”
Emma finished making the tea, she went back to the living room
“sorry for being late”
“Its okay” they both started drinking tea, and then Sam’s mother started talking “I am worried about him”
“worried, why?”
“Well, every night we talk on the phone, but yesterday he didn’t answer any of my calls”
Emma knew why, he was angry because of her. Emma looked down the only answer she gave was “oh”
“are you okay Emma?”
“yeah I am”
“I came here just to check if he is fine, meet the girl named Emma and discuss something with him”
“well Mrs., I guess I am the reason why Sam didn’t answer your calls” Emma decide to tell her what happened between her and him, since she is his mother and she was worried about him she got the right to know what’s going on.
“Why you’re the reason?”
“Ah! Mm! actually yesterday we argued, he was angry and I guess he hates me now”
“oh my dear! What happened?”
“I am sorry, you can kick me out from here but yesterday I was sad and upset that I made him angry” then Emma told her the whole story of her being late, what Sam did to her in class and told her later at night.

“hahaha, that kid he is over protective again”
“huh what” Emma was shocked that she wasn’t upset, or did to her anything
“that’s how my little kid is, he doesn’t want anybody he love to get hurt. He hates seeing people he loves ruin their life by their hands. Please don’t be sad, that’s how he is”
“b-b-but aren’t you angry”
“haha why would I he sometimes do that to me, so don’t worry. And I know everything about you, so I know why you felt that way. He was just like you”
“huh what”
“well don’t tell him I told you this, he will kill me haha. He hates to talk about the past but since he knows a lot about your life, I guess it is okay to know something about him”
“what do you mean?”
“Well Sam suffered just as you are suffering now, actually both of us did. When he was your age, his father always beat him up, he sent him to work to get him money to buy for him alcohol. And I” the mother started crying “well and I was just there watching him suffering, whenever I try to save him or talk to his father to send him to school, I got beaten up. He always tells me to mind my business; he just did not want me to get hurt. I see him every night crying, suffering I could not take it anymore. Then I get divorce hardly and we both run away, I started working and studying. I sent him to school, still he works at night so we will not die from hunger, when I got my diploma I got a better job he stopped working and he start to focus on his school. When he graduated he decide to become a teacher by then I become the president of many companies because of my hard work, I keep on telling him that he doesn’t have to suffer I can give him one of the companies, he just refused. Haha that kid, you know what he told me. He said you earn that by your hard work, and business isn’t my thing.” The mother wipe away her tears and looked at Emma who was at shock and disappointed
“he suffered that much?”
“well I didn’t say a lot, but whenever I try to talk about it, he tells me that’s in the past so we shouldn’t bring it to the future” she reached to Emma’s face and rubbed her cheek “please don’t let your suffering bring you down, what Sam told you yesterday is to make you stronger, it is not because he doesn’t understand you. he just love you and he doesn’t want nothing to bring you down” then she looked at her watch “oh time flies with you, I have to go now and please if he comes back tell him to call me so we would talk”
“yes Mrs.”
“ohh call me Mum ^^ I always want to have a daughter”
she hugged her and goodbye her. When Emma closed the door, she fall on the ground crying, “What have I done? Why am I so stupid?”
