My Peter Pan

Chapter Seven

Saturday morning at the Kim residence was absolute disruption.
First, Chen seemed to have been worse. Using the fact that his parents were going out to meet some friends to his advantage, he claimed that he needed Taeyeon there to take care of him.

Three hours later, and Taeyeon's glowering at Chen while their parents left.
"Wae dangsin i joh-a haneun?" Taeyeon grumbled, throwing her hands in the air.
Chen rolled his eyes. "You should really speak the language spoken by most people in the area, Taeyeon."
Taeyeon huffed and stalked into her room, not bothering to hide her annoyance with her brother as she slammed the door. Grabbing her phone, her finger hovered over the call button for Baekhyun. What would I say? Hi, it's me, my idiot of a brother won't let me out of the house? Taeyeon thought bitterly, glaring at the wall. Instead, she opted for a text. Byun Baekhyun.
Without knowing what else to say, she sent it, and flopped onto her back, staring at the ceiling. Why did her brother have to ruin this for her?

Byun Baekhyun.
Baekhyun frowned. Why would Taeyeon send such a non-descriptive text?
Feeling as if he were being incredibly obtuse about something, he waited, to see if she'd text something else.
Nothing.
Half an hour went by.
Nothing.
Sighing, he clicked on her name and stared out the window. Hello, this is Taeyeon. Sorry I didn't answer - please leave your name and number, and I'll try to get back to you as soon as I can.

Baekhyun frowned. Why didn't she pick up?
He tried calling more, but only to get the same result.
Frowning at his phone, he checked the signal. Full bars.
What if she's hurt? Baekhyun's attention perked up, and in an instant, he was outside, rushing to the next neighborhood, and to her house.

"Baek? What are you doing here?"
Baekhyun smiled. "Still sick?" he asked, patting Chen's shoulder lightly.
The latter grimaced. "Kinda."
A chuckle escaped Baekhyun's mouth before he remembered why he was there. "Where's Taeyeon?"
Chen frowned. "Upstairs - why?"
Baekhyun scratched the back of his neck. If she was upstairs, why would she send a text like that? "I uh...I wanted to talk to her."
Chen's frown deepened. "Fine." Moving aside, he let his friend in and followed him to his sister's room. "Tae?"
A groan followed Chen's voice, and seconds later, the door opened. "What?" Taeyeon whined, rubbing her eyes slightly.
Baekhyun quietly breathed a sigh of relief. So she's okay. She was just sleeping.
Chen glanced up at Baekhyun. "He wanted to see you," he said flatly.
Taeyeon stopped rubbing her eyes. Looking up, surprise lit her features. "Baekhyun?"
For the second time, Baekhyun's hand reached up to scratch his neck. "Hey...how come you texted just my name?"
A blush worked its way onto Taeyeon's pale cheeks. She shooed her brother away with a harsh look and pulled Baekhyun into her room.
"That door better stay open!"
Taeyeon rolled her eyes, but listened to her brother's wish. "Sorry...I was just upset," she admitted.
Baekhyun blinked. Taeyeon had always seemed bubbly and happy - hearing that she was upset was a little surprising.
"Chen wanted me to stay here, while our parents were out," she pouted. "So I couldn't go to the movies with you. I, um, hadn't planned on falling asleep though," she added sheepishly, blushing.
Baekhyun nodded. She really is cute though. He shook his thoughts out of his head. "We could watch a movie here though," he said, hoping to cheer Taeyeon up a bit.
Taeyeon smiled. "But all we have here are movies from Korea..." she trailed off, biting her lip.
Baekhyun smiled. "Even better."

With Chen in the room, watching his sister and friend closely, they settled for Miracle In Cell No. 7.
"You know this is a sad movie, right?"
Taeyeon stuck her tongue out at Chen, who had been against the idea of watching the movie. "Chenchen, if you don't want to watch it, go upstairs."
Chen narrowed his eyes at his sister. "No." Stubbornly, he made himself comfortable on the chair he was sitting on and waited for the movie to start.

Smiling slightly, Taeyeon glanced at Baekhyun. She wanted to mess with her brother.
Baekhyun smiled back, seeming to get the idea. Shifting slightly, he pulled a pillow from the corner of the couch onto his lap and put his arm behind Taeyeon's head, which settled on his shoulder, a movement that was not unnoticed by Chen. He pursed his lips and watched them from the corner of his eyes, hardly paying any attention to the first half of the movie.

Monday came quickly, and Yuna was beyond nervous. She'd spent more time with Lay this weekend than she felt she had spent with him since she'd met him, and she was eager to have Chen with her.
It wasn't that she didn't like Lay. That certainly wasn't the case.

Pushing the thoughts out of her head, she grabbed the homework she'd somehow managed to get done and her backpack, stepping out into the already warm air.
"Hey, you."
Happiness lit up on Yuna's expression at Chen's voice, and she almost dropped her homework. "Chen!"
Chen chuckled and gave Yuna a side-hug. "Hey. Ready for the competition after school?"
Yuna gnawed on her lip gently. "Kinda. Are you ready for the pile of homework you'll be receiving?"
Chen wrinkled his nose. "I'd rather not think of it."
Yuna laughed, grabbing his hand and swinging it between them. "I'll help you with it." She rested her head on his shoulder, trying to push away thoughts of Lay. "I missed you."
Chen smiled. "Was Lay mean?" he teased.
Yuna laughed. "No. Is it against the law or something to miss you?" she asked, smiling lightly.
Chen glanced down at her. "No."

"Okay, Mickey and Mae, your turn."
Yuna, Lay and Chen were backstage watching the dance performance, each with their own level of nervousness. For Yuna, this was the first time she'd be dancing in front of a group of people. Lay and Chen, on the other hand had been in dance classes for years - this wouldn't be their first. Both of them worked to cheer Yuna up, something Chen tried not to get jealous about.
She's looking at him longer...is she not happy with us? He shook the thoughts out of his head as he noticed the song end, and got Lay and Yuna's attention. "Hey...the song's just ended. Hwaiting!" Kissing Yuna's forehead, he turned towards the stage.

"Yuna, Chen, and Lay - you're up."

To be honest, Yuna was so nervous, for a second she forgot the choreography. Panic welled up in her, but she glanced at Chen, who gave her a reassuring smile as the music stated.

Confused murmurs echoed in the crowd of students that had come to watch from other classes at the unfamiliar tune. To her surprise, from what she could see, since she wasn't always behind the boys, they were in sync.
As soon as the song finished, anxiety filled Yuna. Yes, the crowd cheered, but would they really vote for them? Even if they didn't understand but a few words in the song?
"Okay, on your way out, please vote on the dance you liked most, and results will be revealed tomorrow. Anticipate!" Ms. Abbott smiled and shooed everyone away, turning back to the stage prepare it for the next day.

Notes

"Wae dangsin i joh-a haneun?" Taeyeon grumbled, throwing her hands in the air. Why are you like this?

Have you heard about Jessica's being forced out of SNSD? D: It broke my heart, and I couldn't get any news about it til the morning, even though SM seemed to have confirmed it just after I left the internet for the night >.< What are your thoughts about it?

Ugh...I feel like this chapter was incredibly short, but I honestly didn't know what else to add /:

Hey guys!
idk if you're still waiting for more chapters (bless your souls if you are), but I'm moving My Peter Pan to my new account, as Google is no longer a valid option as a way to sign in, I have (as a result) lost this account :3 this story will be revised a bit, but I will try my best to continue it ^_^

@Bambii
You can always change something. It may take time to think. As an author of the story, you can control anything. :)

@My_Lover_Lay
omg you're too nice :3 the plot is literally all over the place though, and it's making writing it really difficult (hence the informal hiatus) :3

@Angiet0903
uhhhhh...she's her own character though? :3 unless you meant who she was supposed to be with?
In the middle of writing this story, my bias changed from Chen to Yixing, which wasn't very helpful :3 but um yeah..by the last chapter I've written (Twelve) she's with Lay, though she was with Chen for a while~

I'm confused I read all of it but
who is she supposed to be Chen or Lay
