My Peter Pan

Chapter Four

"I'll talk to you in the morning," she mumbled, making her way to her room. Really, she wasn't in the mood - it was late, and after spending a day with Lay, she was tired. "Good night Ma, good night Dad."

Baekhyun sighed, the jealousy of Lay spending several hours on end with Yuna the night before still fresh in his brain. He's probably gonna bring her to school too, he thought bitterly, putting his skateboard down and standing on it, moving down the pavement. Yes, technically he spent a whole school day with her, but it wasn't really the same.
He went to watch a fucking movie with her.
Alone.
Baekhyun shook his head, pursing his lips. He knew Lay had had a small crush on the girl, but to make a move so soon? Wasn't it too early?
Lay wasn't that dumb. Something had to have had happened. Baekhyun didn't know what though, and it was starting to annoy him.
"Baekhyunnie!"
Baekhyun slowed down, glancing behind him. "Oh, Yuna." He couldn't keep a smile off his expression as his friend made her way over, a familiar hoodie draped over her shoulders. Lay's hoodie.
"Hi!" She smiled widely, dark circles showing slightly under her eyes.
He eyed her slightly, picking up his skateboard. "You look tired," he mumbled.
Yuna shrugged. "It was a little late when I got home last night. Lay took me to watch Hunger Games." Her smile told him she'd enjoyed it, and jealousy seized him again.
"That's why you're wearing his hoodie?" he asked, unable to keep his feelings out of his voice.
Yuna noticed the jealous tone. "Baekhyunnie, are you okay?" she asked, stealing a glance towards him.
His face was blank. "I'm fine," he mumbled. "How come you went with Lay last night?" His eyes became troubled, and he looked at Yuna.
Yuna blushed. "Kristy ruined the notepad that I draw in, and my grandmother gave to me when I was little. It was my favorite item from Korea," she whispered, frowning. "I was crying, so he tried cheering me up."
Baekhyun suddenly felt relieved. So Lay wasn't making a move on Yuna - he was trying to make her feel better. "That's horrible," he said, frowning. Even though Yuna didn't really describe Kristy much, he knew who she was - she loved making life hard for people who were new at the high school.
Yuna nodded. "Yeah." Awkward silence followed, and Yuna was glad, for once, that she didn't live far from the school.

Three weeks flew by in a blur. Yuna, Lay, and Chen had agreed on one song for their dance cover, and every morning, they met at six in the studio and practiced until school started. After school, they all met at Yuna's house, which had a huge, unused spare room.
So to say the least, Yuna was busy. She'd exchanged numbers with Baekhyun, so she could talk to him, but still, they didn't talk much.
I miss you :(
Yuna sighed at the text, taking a drink of water. She was at the dance studio with Lay and Chen, and this was the time she'd be walking to school with Baekhyun.
I'll walk to class with you - just wait outside the studio :) Yuna sent the text, hoping to cheer Baekhyun up a bit. Grabbing her things, she smiled and waved at Chen and Lay, then walked out the door to wait for Baekhyun.

"Boo!"
Jumping, Yuna turned around, a large smile on her face. "Baekhyunnie!" she squealed, throwing her arms around his neck. "I've missed you too."
He smiled, wrapping his arms around her tightly. "How's dance practice been going?"
Yuna pulled back and shrugged. "We're getting closer to figuring the dance out, and we only have just over a month left to get it together and get in sync."
Baekhyun poked her nose. "I bet you're just fine. What song are you doing?"
She smiled. "It's a secret."
He pouted. "But I'm your friend!" he complained.
Yuna laughed. "Five more weeks, Baek. Ms. Abbott told us last week the class would vote on who did the best dance, and they'd be performing at a dance competition at some mall."
Baekhyun rose his eyebrows. "Dance competition?"
Yuna waved her hand, as if it were no big deal. "Schools in this area set it up. It's for middle to high schoolers."
Baekhyun wrapped an arm around her shoulders as they started walking to homeroom. "That's good for you - don't you want to be a dancer?"
Yuna blushed. "Yes. What about you - what do you wanna do after high school?" she asked, looking up at the boy next to her.
Baekhyun shrugged. "I may go into K-pop. I'm not exactly sure yet."
Yuna smiled. "The whole dance and singing deal?"
Baekhyun shrugged. "Not sure," he replied as they walked into the classroom.
Yuna nodded, then made her way to her own desk. It'd be better if we didn't have assigned seats, she thought, setting her things on her desk. Then maybe we could pass notes.

"Yuna!"
The girl jumped and looked up sharply. The one teacher she didn't particularly like was staring at her, a frown fixed on her face. "Eh...Mrs. Folofe?"
"Detention. This is the third time this week you've spaced out."
Yuna's eyes narrowed. Detention?
"Be back here right after school ends, pronto."
Yuna's eyes widened. "Mrs. Folofe, I have dance practice -"
"Keep arguing, and I'll make it double detention."
Yuna fell back in her seat, feeling slightly defeated. This would be her first detention.

By the time the bell finally rang for lunch, Yuna didn't hesitate to pack her bag and make her way to Taeyeon and Baekhyun. Smiling brightly, she asked, "Ready for lunch?"
Baekhyun smiled slightly. "You and Taeyeon go ahead - I'll catch up in a bit."
Nodding, Yuna and Taeyeon began walking towards the cafeteria, making small talk along the way.

"Yuna?"
She turned at her name, slowing slightly. "Yeah?"
Taeyeon blushed. "Do you..like any of the boys?"
A blush crept up onto Yuna's cheeks. She knew which boys Taeyeon was talking about. "Yes."
Taeyeon giggled. "I like Baekhyun," she confessed quietly.
Yuna smiled. Almost everyone in school knew that.
"What about you? Who do you like?"
Yuna's smile slowly faded. "I don't know yet." Her voice dropped to a whisper. "I mean, Lay and Chen are so different, but in the same sense, kinda the same."
Taeyeon was relieved when she didn't hear Baekhyun's name, but slightly skeptical when she heard her brother's. Chen had been talking about Yuna quite a bit and staying in his room more than usual - what if he liked Yuna, but didn't want to admit it?
Taeyeon's selfish side took over. No, she's my best friend...Chen and Lay already spend more time with her than I do, she thought, huffing quietly. If Chen and Yuna got together, how much would Taeyeon see Yuna? "Oh."
Yuna's blush deepened. "Lay lent me his sweater once - mainly because it was cold...but still...he didn't have to. Do you think that's saying something?" she asked shyly.
Taeyeon smiled, remembering that day. Chen had been incredibly jealous when Yuna walked into school wearing Lay's sweatshirt. Rumors that they were dating were shot down quickly, though the students were still skeptical about the two spending so much time together. "Wasn't that the day Kiley made you cry, and you two skipped dance class, and he tried cheering you up?"
Yuna looked down shyly. "Yes," she murmured. They'd reached the cafeteria.
Taeyeon nodded. Personally, she preferred the idea of Yuna and Lay...she didn't quite like the idea of Yuna and her brother dating.

Surprisingly, Chanyeol and Luhan were the only ones at the table. Sitting down, Yuna eyed Chanyeol - usually he stayed with Chen and Lay. "Where's Chen and Lay?"
Chanyeol shrugged. "They're both getting chewed out by Mr. Oh, and they both probably have detention later."
Yuna choked on her water. "Detention?"
Taeyeon nodded while she patted Yuna's back. "Yeah - I'm surprised they lasted this long without getting it..usually, they get detention every other week."
Luhan snorted. "Nah, it's because Yuna's - hey!"
Chen had suddenly appeared, successfully distracting Luhan by stealing a french fry. "I can't make it to dance practice today," he said, sitting across from Yuna.
Yuna nodded. "I can't either - detention."
Chen raised his eyebrows. As far as he knew, Yuna was one who would prefer to be the goody-two-shoes than the student who got into trouble. "What got you in detention?"
A blush crept onto her cheeks as Lay arrived and sat next to her, just as intrigued as Chen. "I wasn't paying attention."
Chanyeol snorted. "I bet it was Folofe then. Chen and Lay got detention the minute they sat down, practically. They absolutely love playing pranks on the teachers."
Lay shrugged next to her. "It's not our fault the teachers are so gullible."
Yuna giggled quietly, getting a small smile from Lay. "Just because they're gu..gullible?" she paused, testing the word. "Just because they're gullible doesn't mean you should take advantage of it," she teased.
Luhan laughed. "Good luck trying to change that, Yuna. Chanyeol and I have been trying since we started high school."
Lay stuck his tongue out, then took a bite of his sandwich. "You just don't understand."
Taeyeon laughed. "Sure."

In Yuna's mind, detention wasn't half that bad. Yes, it was boring, but she had a whole hour to complete some homework.
Plus, Chen was there to keep her entertained. Since Lay had gotten detention too, but was put in a different room, Yuna was the only person Chen really knew in the classroom, therefore making funny faces every time the teacher turned her back. By the time the hour was up, Yuna's cheeks hurt from holding back her smile.

Walking home with Chen rather than Baekhyun or Lay was different. Usually, Chen went home right after dance practice, or Lay and Chen both came with her to her house.
For the first time, Yuna actually felt nervous around Chen. What if she embarrassed herself?
Chen, on the other hand, wasn't worried about that. Lay was already wrapped around her finger, and he was his friend.
"Chen?"
He looked up. Yuna was watching him nervously, fiddling with her bag. "Yeah?"
She shook her head. "You just looked troubled."
He smiled slightly. I like you. "It's nothing...hey, do you wanna go to the amusement park this weekend? It gets set up right after school every year, just once a year.." He trailed off, chewing his lip. "You don't have to, if you don't want to."
Yuna smiled. "I haven't been to an amusement park in years..of course I'll go."
Chen's returning smile was so big, he felt as if his face would break in half. "Great. Do you wanna go on Saturday or Sunday?"
Yuna thought for a second. "I think Saturday, because then we don't have to worry about homework."
Chen nodded. "I'll be here around noon then?"
Yuna looked up. They'd reached her house. "Okay. Thanks," she added shyly, smiling gently.
Chen ruffled her hair. "No problem, Yunes. See you Saturday." He sent her a wink, then sauntered off, leaving Yuna breathless.
Yunes?
Then it hit her. She was going on a date, technically, with Kim Jongdae. Chen.
Running into the house, Yuna let out a squeal and rushed to the kitchen, where her mother was. Too excited to think right, she began rapidly filling her mother in on her plans, not bothering to speak English, but instead, Korean.

Mrs. Han watched her daughter with wide eyes. This was the first time she'd really shown any interest in boys. "Yuna, Yuna. Speak slower," she urged, her voice strained. "I want to meet this boy."
Yuna's smile widened. "You have! Chen-ssi, remember him? He's one of the boys I practice with for the dance competition at school!"
Mrs. Han pursed her lips. "Is he the one who brought you home late that night?"
Yuna blushed. "No, that's Lay."
Mrs. Han nodded her approval. "Fine..he seems like a nice boy."
Yuna squealed and hugged her mother, then ran to her room. She was allowed to go with Chen to the amusement park.

Mr. Han walked in seconds after Yuna left. He gestured towards his daughter questioningly, not sure how to say what he wanted to in English. "Yuna e munjega issnayo?" (What's wrong with Yuna?)
Mrs. Han smiled slightly. "She likes a boy," she said.
Mr. Han frowned. "Boy? No, too young," he said, his English heavily accented.
Mrs. Han pursed her lips. "He's the one who dances with her and Lay. Chen's taking her to the amusement park Saturday."
Mr. Han squinted. "He's not the one who brought her home late, is he?"
She laughed. "No, he's the other one."
Mr. Han gave a satisfied smile. "Okay."

Hey guys!
idk if you're still waiting for more chapters (bless your souls if you are), but I'm moving My Peter Pan to my new account, as Google is no longer a valid option as a way to sign in, I have (as a result) lost this account :3 this story will be revised a bit, but I will try my best to continue it ^_^

@Bambii
You can always change something. It may take time to think. As an author of the story, you can control anything. :)

@My_Lover_Lay
omg you're too nice :3 the plot is literally all over the place though, and it's making writing it really difficult (hence the informal hiatus) :3

@Angiet0903
uhhhhh...she's her own character though? :3 unless you meant who she was supposed to be with?
In the middle of writing this story, my bias changed from Chen to Yixing, which wasn't very helpful :3 but um yeah..by the last chapter I've written (Twelve) she's with Lay, though she was with Chen for a while~

I'm confused I read all of it but
who is she supposed to be Chen or Lay
