My Peter Pan

Chapter 3

He smiled back. "Hey you," he said, poking her nose gently. "Wanna ride home?" He held up his skateboard, his smile widening.
Yuna's eyes lit up. "Really?" A squeal left her lips when he set it down, but didn't stand on it, and without hesitating, she got up and grabbed Baekhyun's hand eagerly. "Idong! Idong!" she said, not bothering to correct her Korean for 'go! go!'

The next day, when Yuna left her house for school, she found Baekhyun waiting for her, skateboard under his arm. A large smile formed on her face, and she briskly walked over to him.
"Baekhyunnie!" she called when she was just steps away from him.
Baekhyun turned, a small smile playing on his lips from his nickname. "Hey, you. Lay was with me, but he needed to go talk to a teacher."
Yuna felt slightly disappointed. Lay had wanted to see her, but she'd taken too long in the house. "It's okay. Come on, let's get to school before we're late again," she said, gesturing to him to come.
Baekhyun sat his board down. "Don't you want to ride it again?" he asked, slightly confused.
Yuna smiled slightly. "If it's not bothersome," she said, blushing lightly.
Baekhyun chuckled. "It's fun, actually," he admitted, giving her a smile.
Yuna smiled brightly and got on the board, letting him pull her to school for the second time. "Next time though, we should probably walk," she said, giggling. "Lots of kids look at us weird, Baekhyunnie."
Baekhyun chuckled. He'd noticed that, too. They rounded the corner to school and Yuna hopped off the board, once again earning the strange looks from fellow students.

While they walked to their first class, homeroom, Yuna thought about dance class with Lay and Chen. "Hey, Baek," she said, catching the boy's attention.
Baekhyun glanced at her, grabbing books out of his locker and closing it. "Yeah?"
"Me, Chen, and Lay are partners for dance class, and we decided we were gonna do a dance cover," she said, fidgeting with her backpack. "But yesterday, Chen and Lay couldn't agree on a song."
Baekhyun chuckled. "They're always arguing about something. What songs did you have in mind?"
Yuna shrugged. "History, Mama, Wolf, and Overdose by EXO. I suggested Mr Mr, from Girls' Generation, but neither seemed interested," she said, smirking slightly.
Baekhyun laughed. "I think History would be interesting, and fairly easy for three people," he replied as they walked into the classroom.
Yuna nodded. "That's what I thought, too." Waving slightly, she left him to find her seat - which was in the front - while he went two rows behind her.

While students filed in, Yuna frowned when she noticed Taeyeon wasn't there. Glancing back at Baekhyun, she glanced towards the empty seat next to him, earning a shrug of confusion.
Turning back to the front, she watched the door, disappointment washing over her when Mr. Johnson, the teacher, walked in, Chen following.
"-we think she's got food poisoning, so she won't be coming back in for a few days," Chen was saying, crossing his arms.
Mr. Johnson set papers down on his desk, narrowing his eyes. "Why didn't your parents call the school board?"
Chen pursed his lips. "They don't speak good English, Mr. Johnson. Nobody would be able to understand them."
Mr. Johnson sighed. "Fine. Go to your scheduled class, Mr. Kim, and we will mark Ms. Kim absent."
Chen nodded, turning to walk out, sending Yuna a smile. She blushed and looked down, focusing on her notebook as Mr. Johnson began teaching the class.
Absentmindedly, she began doodling cartoon characters, writing words in Korean above them. She was listening, but doodling was a habit she'd had since the first grade.
Someone tapped her shoulder, and she glanced behind her slightly. A white note was held up, and she grabbed it quickly before Mr. Johnson could turn back around.
당신은 지루 하다? Are you bored?
Yuna smiled, knowing exactly who write it. Considering she couldn't write an answer and send it back to Baekhyun without getting caught, she looked to the side and nodded, hearing his quiet chuckle. She resumed her doodling, listening acutely to Mr. Johnson's monotone voice.

"Do you miss Korea?"
Yuna looked up from her doodles. It was break time, and she was alone, due to Baekhyun being held up in Social Studies.
A girl she recognized from one of her classes stood in front of her, with two others behind her. "Um...yes," Yuna mumbled, cocking her head slightly. "Why?"
The girl laughed, rolling her eyes. "Look at her, can't even speak proper English," she said to the girls behind her. "I'm Kristy, and these two are Luna and Penny. Can you even pronounce our names right?" she sneered, bending down to look Yuna in her eyes.
The latter furrowed her eyebrows. "Why does it matter to you?" she asked, pursing her lips.
Kristy's lips turned into what seemed to be a smile, but was more of a grimace than anything. "Let me see that." She snagged Yuna's notepad from her, snickering with Luna and Penny. "Oh, look, she thinks she can draw," she cooed, her voice bitter. Making sure Yuna was watching, Kristy put her notepad in a nearby water fountain, pushing the button in before Yuna comprehended what she was doing. Taking the sodden pad out of the water, Kristy tossed it at Yuna, snickering as she and her two friends stalked off.
Shock at what had just happened stalled Yuna from doing something. Tears spilled over her eyelashes onto her cheeks and onto the notepad she'd had since she was little, now completely ruined. What had she done to deserve that?
"Hey, what happened?"
Yuna looked up. Lay sat down next to her, taking the notepad from her fingers. "S-she just s-soaked it in w-water," she whispered, touching the material lightly. "It was one of the things I brought from Korea."
Lay frowned. "Who?" he asked, his eyebrows furrowing. "Who did?"
Yuna took a shaky breath. "A girl named Kristy." She looked at Lay, realizing he probably thought she was overreacting. And I probably am, she thought. But the notepad was a gift from her grandmother, who was still in Korea.
"How about we skip the last class? I'll call Chen and let him know we won't be there," Lay suggested quietly, nudging her gently. "And Baekhyun, so he knows."
Yuna nodded. She loved dancing, but she didn't want to chance bumping into Kristy again, even if she was with one of the boys. She just wanted to get out. "That'd be great," she mumbled, standing up. Lay wrapped a comforting arm around her shoulders and pulled the paper from her, holding it over the trash for a few moments before letting go.
Yuna felt as if something was lying on her chest as they walked out of school. Even though she had plenty of things she'd brought from Korea, she felt as if they'd all been ruined.

She hadn't realized how hard she was crying until Lay pulled her towards the side of the school and wrapped his arms around her, hugging her gently. "I'll talk to the school board about it, okay?" he murmured, resting his chin on her head.
Yuna nodded, pulling away before she could ruin his t-shirt. Of course, it was white, and of course, she wasn't wearing water-proof mascara. "Thanks, Lay," she mumbled, blushing at her state. "And..sorry."
He shrugged. "It's fine." After a few moments of silence, Lay sent Yuna a crooked smile. "So, where do ya wanna go?"
Yuna pushed her hands into her pockets. "Home, first, so I can fix my face, and then after that? Anywhere's fine," she said, smiling slightly.
Lay smiled widely. "I have a idea of where we should go - but first, to your home."
Nodding, Yuna lead the way, hoping her parents were working. It'd be kinda awkward to come home early, with a boy trailing behind her.
To her luck, neither car was home. She let out a small breath and opened the door, rushing to her room while Lay stood in the living area, examining pictures.

Should I..eh, too lazy to put more on. Yuna shrugged and made her way out of her room, her hair up in a messy bun, and no makeup on. She smiled at Lay, gesturing him to follow her out. "Come on, I wanna see where you're gonna take me."
Lay smiled. She's really pretty without makeup, he thought, shaking the idea out of his head as they walked on the pavement. Movies. "I'm thinking the cinema."
She cast a confused look at him. "See-na-ma?"
Lay chuckled. "Sin-a-ma. Geugjang."
Excitement lit up Yuna's eyes. "Seenama! Geugjang!"
Lay laughed, looking down at the concrete as a small blush made its way onto his cheeks.

Where are you? Dinner is done! - Mom
Yuna sighed. To be fair, it was late, and even though her mother's English seemed nice enough in texts, she wasn't really excited to be chewed out when she got home.
"What's wrong?"
Her head turned towards Lay. "Ma's worried," she said, pushing her phone back into her pocket.
Lay looked around guiltily. "It is late.." he mumbled, looking at the dark sky. "Come on, let's get you home."

They began walking, talking about the movie they'd just watched.
"It still doesn't make sense to me though! Why would the president want to kill so many people?" Yuna complained, furrowing her eyebrows.
Lay smiled lightly. "Yune, it's just a movie. Besides, the president is evil - he wants revenge over something that happened before his time."
She shivered, slightly regretting not putting a sweatshirt in her bag. "But still - what about Rue? She was only eight!"
Lay noticed her shiver. "Are you cold?"
Yuna blinked at his sudden question. Blushing, she looked down. "Kinda."
Instantly, he shrugged the hoodie he'd brought and held it out to her. "I'll be fine - take it," he said, smiling.
Yuna's blush deepened, and she gratefully took his hoodie. "Thanks, Lay. But you still didn't answer my question - why did Rue have to die?" she asked, slipping the hoodie over her head.
Lay shrugged. "It's part of the Games. Sick, but that's how the story line is."
Yuna grabbed Lay's hand, holding it for comfort. "It was a good movie, I guess...minus the mutts at the end."
Lay laughed at her statement. "Did you feel the entire row jump when they came out?"
Yuna let out a giggle. "Hey! I jumped with them!"
Lay smiled. "Kkaepsong."
A small laugh left her lips. "I thought that was Baekhyun's saying!"
The boy shrugged. "It grows on you after a while."

Comfortable silence developed around them as they continued walking, Yuna slowly becoming sober. No doubt, her mother knew about her skipping her last class.
As they turned the corner and her house came into view, Yuna turned towards Lay. "Thanks for..today, oppa," she said, smiling.
Lay smiled back and ruffled her hair slightly. "No problem, Yune. I'll see you in class tomorrow, ya?"
She smiled and waved, walking up the front porch steps. "I'll return this then, too!" she said, gesturing to the hoodie.
Lay lifted his hand in a wave and began walking home, thinking about her.
Yuna, on the other hand, opened the door, and was bombarded with questions from her parents.

"Who was that boy?"
"Are you secretly dating? We moved here just a few weeks ago!"
"Why are you wearing that hoodie? We didn't buy it for you."
"Where have you been all night? Your principal called and said you skipped dance class."
At the last question, Yuna's parents became quiet, waiting for an answer.
Sighing, she looked away. "I'll talk to you in the morning," she mumbled, making her way to her room. Really, she wasn't in the mood - it was late, and after spending a day with Lay, she was tired. "Good night Ma, good night Dad."

Hey guys!
idk if you're still waiting for more chapters (bless your souls if you are), but I'm moving My Peter Pan to my new account, as Google is no longer a valid option as a way to sign in, I have (as a result) lost this account :3 this story will be revised a bit, but I will try my best to continue it ^_^

@Bambii
You can always change something. It may take time to think. As an author of the story, you can control anything. :)

@My_Lover_Lay
omg you're too nice :3 the plot is literally all over the place though, and it's making writing it really difficult (hence the informal hiatus) :3

@Angiet0903
uhhhhh...she's her own character though? :3 unless you meant who she was supposed to be with?
In the middle of writing this story, my bias changed from Chen to Yixing, which wasn't very helpful :3 but um yeah..by the last chapter I've written (Twelve) she's with Lay, though she was with Chen for a while~

I'm confused I read all of it but
who is she supposed to be Chen or Lay
