My 24 Year Old Husband

Chapter 15: Lunch Invitation, Memory Lane

'Aish! I should've learned Mandarin faster.' Miyoung said in her mind as she was frustrated with trying to communicate with the store clerk. She was trying to buy a new watch for Luhan but she was struggling to get the watch for the price she wanted as she and the store clerk kept putting different prices into the calculator. Finally the store clerk put in a price and Miyoung was satisfied with it and nodded at the person. The store clerk sighed and started to wrap the watch for Miyoung as she fished out the money for it. After paying for it, Miyoung apologized for being frustrating and left the store. She looked at the watch with a pleased grin on her face.

"Luhan will most likely like this." She told herself. Miyoung looked around the shopping mall and didn't know what to do next. She decided to walk around to find something that might interest her. All the stores were mainly branded ones since it was a popular mall she was in. Luhan gave her his black card and told her to spend it on whatever she wanted. But she knew he meant "get what you think is reasonable to get". Miyoung passed by a music store and saw a large poster for the upcoming festival and EXO was on the picture. She decided to get a selca with it and sent it to Luhan. After that, she went to the food court to rest a bit. She found an empty table and sat down, placing her bags on the table.
"What should I do now? Luhan oppa is busy right now so I can't call him." Miyoung sighed and pushed her glasses up her nose.
"您好 (Hello)" Miyoung looked up and saw it was Sunday Cheng. The girls who Luhan made a big promise to. Miyoung was a bit surprised to see her and said hi back. Without asking, Sunday sat down across from Miyoung and leaned in a bit. Miyoung felt uncomfortable being stared at. Sunday propped her elbows on the table and rested her head on her hands.
"So, how are things going with you and Luhan?" She said in clear Korean. Miyoung was surprised that she was able to pronounce the words without a single mistake.
"Things are going well." Sunday nodded at the response.
"So how did you and Luhan meet?" Miyoung froze a bit at the question.
'How the hell should I know? I just met Luhan on our wedding day.' Miyoung thought. But then she remembered the day they went to Ryewook's radio station.
"Well it all started with an accident that some of his members caused which lead him to meeting me. It's a long story to explain." Miyoung said as she wanted to leave already. Sunday leaned back in her chair and smiled. A bit too creepily if I should say.
"Hm, well maybe we should have lunch together so you can share it." Miyoung was shocked at her suggestion.
"But I--"
"Great, I'll send a car to Luhan's house tomorrow at 11:30. See you tomorrow." Sunday grabbed her purse and left without letting Miyoung say a word. Miyoung just sat there, dumbfounded by what just happened. Then she snapped out of it.
"Aish. What the hell is Luhan going to say?"
~At the mall's parking lot~
"Miss, when should I start the car." The driver looked at the young girl in the backseat through his review mirror. The girl was sitting there with a dark expression on her face.
"What the hell did Luhan see in her that is better than me? How dare that little four-eyed tramp get to my Luhan. I'll show what happens when something of mine gets stolen. She'll be begging for a divorce once I'm through with her." The girl muttered to herself. The driver looked a bit confused as he did not understand what she said.
"Miss?" The girl looked at her driver with an annoyed expression.
"What are you waiting for? Christmas? Hurry and drive me home." The driver nodded and drove away from the mall.
~Later at night~
Miyoung was busy helping her mother in law make a traditional Chinese dish that seemed to be Luhan's favorite. It was almost 7 and Luhan was running late from practice.
"How does it taste?" Miyoung out some on a spoon and Luhan's mom tasted it. Her eyes widened and she looked at Miyoung with a surprised expression. Miyoung got worried.
"Is it bad?" Mrs. Lu shook her head and swallowed the food.
"It's delicious! You do it better than how I did it the first time. Han sure did pick the perfect bride." Mrs. Lu winked at Miyoung, whose face flushed after hearing the comment. They put the dish on the table and sat down as they waited for Luhan's arrival. Mrs. Lu looked at Miyoung who was cleaning her glasses.
"So, how is the baby preparation coming along?" Miyoung froze when she heard the question. She slowly put back on her glasses and cleared her throat.
"Um well, we really haven't gotten to that part in the marriage yet. He's so busy with his singing and then I-I just been doing.................stuff." Miyoung answered nervously. Mrs. Lu pouted and leaned forward resting her arms on the table.
"Really? I was hoping you were already in process. Don't forget what I said at the wedding. I want one by Chinese New Year. Is that clear?" Mrs. Lu gave Miyoung a stern look and the young girl rapidly nodded. Mrs. Lu smiled.
"Good. Now tell me, how was your day today?" Miyoung put her glasses back on and looked down at the table.
"Well, I got a present for Luhan and then I rested in the food court. Oh and then Luhan's old friend greeted me as well." Miyoung was hesitant to say the name. Mrs. Lu looked at her.
"I didn't know that Luhan introduced you to his friends. Who did he introduce to you? Was it Alex? He's a little stiff isn't he? His mother always thought he would be a big hit in the business world but now he's just an accountant for some small company. I wonder if he's married to that girl whose mother works at that fish market I always go to?" Mrs. Lu was getting way off task as Miyoung wasn't paying attention to her rambling.
'Should I tell Luhan about tomorrow? No, I shouldn't. He will probably kill me. Maybe I should just say that I'm going to explore the city tomorrow. Maybe he'll buy that.' Miyoung thought. Mrs. Lu looked at Miyoung and saw that something was distracting her. She put her hand on the young girl's shoulder.
"Are you okay sweetie?" Miyoung looked up startled and frowned.
"No, not really."
"What wrong?"
"Well, the friend that I'm going to see tomorrow is Sunday Cheng." Mrs. Lu's mouth gaped open a little.
"Oh my. Does Luhan know?" Miyoung shook her head and looked down. Mrs. Lu sighed and looked at the door hoping Luhan won't come in for the next minute. She looked at Miyoung and had her look back.
"Listen, Luhan may never know about that. I never liked that Sunday girl's family from the start. The first time met them, they kept trying to get the two kids together and tried to win me over with expensive presents which made me know that they were sly people. But I couldn't hurt Luhan by tearing up their friendship. He was so little then. Thankfully she moved away years ago and Luhan's foreign exchange student program happened. Then he joined Exo and now he's met you and you guys are happily married. I won't have to worry anymore. Unless that girl has something up her sleeve. I don't think I'll be able to sleep tonight." Miyoung sighed and looked down.

"Don't worry. She probably won't do anything. Let's make sure to keep this a secret from Luhan."

"Keep what a secret from me?" Mrs.Lu and Miyoung whipped their heads around to see Luhan walking in. He smiled and walked over and to Miyoung, placing a kiss on her head. Miyoung smiled back, trying not to show her nervousness.
"What were you guys talking about?" Luhan asked. He looked back and forth between the two girls. Miyoung and his mom looked at each other trying to converse with their eyes.
"Uuhh...we have something special planned for you and the boys since it's been a while since you've been in China. Right Miyoung?" Miyoung caught on quick and nodded.
"Yeah. We can't tell you what it is yet but you'll find out soon." Luhan smiled and hugged Miyoung.
"I can't wait to see what it is. I'll go take a shower, you guys go ahead and start eating without me." Luhan gave Miyoung another kiss on the forehead and walked away. Once they heard the bathroom door close, the two ladies exhaled.
"That was close. But now we have to think of making something for the boys." Miyoung said.

"Don't worry. I'll take care of that. You just go to that luncheon tomorrow and hopefully everything will be okay." Miyoung looked at her hands again and sighed. Mrs. Lu noticed her sad expression and felt bad for the poor girl.

"Come on, we don't want Luhan to see you frowning or else he'll start blaming me. Let's eat." Miyoung looked up with a small smile and nodded. Mrs. Lu served the both of them and they ate quietly. Mrs. Lu looked at Miyoung from the side of her eye.

'If anything happens to her, you'll be dealing with me next Sunday Cheng.' She thought and continued eating.

~Later that night~

Miyoung was drying her hair as she stepped out of Luhan's bedroom and looked around. His room was a little bigger than normal but was very modern as well. He had action figures, comic books and other trinkets that were lined up on his three shelves on the wall. Miyoung smiled and looked at his desk. She noticed a family picture with a baby Luhan in it.

'How cute.' She thought. She looked next to it and saw a scrapbook with large letters printed on it.

LUHAN AND MIYOUNG'S WONDERFUL MEMORIES

She picked up the thick book and looked around. She sat down on the bed and opened the book. Miyoung's mouth gaped open as she flipped through the the first few pages. They were pictures of her and Luhan when she was a couple years younger. One of them was a picture of the two of them at Lotte World with the two of them looking at each other with love in their eyes. She flipped through a few more and saw a photo of herself next a snowman with Luhan on the other side, both smiling at the camera.

'Must have been taken last Christmas.' She flipped a few more pages and stopped at the very end of the photos.

"Oh my..." The last two made Miyoung's heart jump. It was the day Luhan proposed to her. A picture showed him in a classic black and white tux and she was wearing a beautiful white gown. He was on one knee and holding the ring in one hand and hers in the other. The picture made her eyes swell up. Miyoung blinked her tears away and closed the book. She hugged it and looked out the window towards the starry sky.

'Please let me know what our memories were like. It would mean so much to me.' She said in her head. Miyoung sighed and put the book back on the desk. She looked at the clock and saw that it was 10:30 already.

"Where's Luhan? He has practice tomorrow." She said to herself. She opened the door ad jumped. Luhan was standing there in nothing but sweats with a tray that held milk and cookies, his favorite snack. Miyoung smiled and moved out of the way to let him in.

"Your mom's going to kill you if she sees this." Luhan set the food down and looked at her with a confident.

"So what? I'm a man now. Nothing can scare or hurt me now." He put his hands on his hips and posed n a heroic way. Miyoung shook her head and pinched his arm. Luhan jumped.

"Ow! Bao!" Luhan pouted. Miyoung giggled and ate a cookie. Luhan looked at her and smirked.

"You know, instead of this we could have something else for desert." Miyoung looked at him with a blank expression.

"What?" Luhan strode over to her and whispered something in her ear. Miyoung blushed furiously and slapped him hard on the shoulder.

"Pervert!" Luhan looked at her with a mischievous look and started to walking slowly towards her.

"You know you want to~." Miyoung started running around the room with Luhan chasing her.

Notes

So you guys probably hate the fact that it took me soooo long just to update. Well, at the beginning at I was struggling to come up with something good. But I was also struggling with my grades so I had to put the story on hold. Then I began losing interest so I stopped but then I just started thinking of what to write and so I was able to write a new chapter. But I'm kinda busy right now with summer school and volleyball so I'll try my best to keep going with this story. I am so sorry for those who waited.
