Just a Mile Away

Ah! Finally the morning sun that I have been waiting for has comes! Today I'm going to meditate and clear my whole mind to a brand new day. I walked up the hill to the maple tree and flame suddenly blow out through my nose, when I see the man—who trick me yesterday—standing in front of the maple tree! My maple tree!

I speed walked over to Luhan and I guessed my heavy stomping made him turned toward my direction. But before I let him say a single word, I pushed him. Hard.

"Yah!" I yelled my lung out.

"Whoa." That's the only sound that came out from him.

"Didn't I told you already that this is my place! My tree! Only! You're a grown man, why didn't you understand that? Hah!" I pushed him again. "You better get off my property or I'll call the cops on you!" I huffed and puffed.

"Then prove it to me?" He said calmly after what I just did to him.

"Prove what to you?" I might sound dumb but I don't understand him at all.
"Show me legal documents that proves you actually brought this place with your name written on it."

Huk! What a smart a**! He is smarter than he looks.

"But before you show me that this is your property, I'll go with the sign at the entrance that say *Public Park*." He continued to lesson me. "You're a teacher so I'll doubt that you'll know what the word 'Public' means. But just in case you don't know, public means 'Open for everyone'."

I bit my bottom lips furiously. How can he look down at me like this? Do I really look that dumb!?

"Or in more details, 'This place is being in the service of a community or nation that is open to the view of all.' So in other words, you—" He pointed his finger at me and I slapped it away.

"Don't you point your finger at me!" I interrupted him.

"—You have no right to push me away or claim that this is your place, your tree, only." He finished his sentences.

I stepped back slightly when he leaned forward toward me. I gazed at his beautiful face that was not so far from mine. Boy, he has nice skin.

"Am I clear?" His question made me snapped back into myself again.

"YES! SIR!" I jumped at him and now he's the one who flinches back. "You just wait! I'll show you documents with my name carved onto it! That this is my place, my tree, only!"

I glared at him deadly. "And I do know what public means. Thanks for the information anyways. Hump!" I flung my hair at him as I turned around and I could feel the end of my hair slapping his face.

I took a stepped but my foot froze in mid air. I came here for a reason so I can't go without completing it. I turned back, closed my eyes and quickly made my wish. *Sorry it's a secret.* I opened my eyes again and notice his blank stares that he is giving me. I glared at him one more time and speed walked down the hill.

* Ema Elementary School*

"SOS." Nicole sat down across from me with her bento box.

We always eat outside while the students are eating inside the classroom. Only when it's raining or the weather is bad, then we'll eat inside.

"Spill it out girl. What do you need help with so early in the morning?" She opened her bento box and starts munching through her food.

"How do I create some fake legal documents?" I asked, half daydreaming.

She choke on her food. "Legal what?"

"Legal documents. I need fake document to show that nerdy nerd that the place of the maple tree is my property."

"Ah.. so.." She grinned teasingly. "You met him again this morning…"

I glared at her. I wanted to hate her so badly but to me, she is like a sister from another mother that I just can't hate her at all.

"Yes. I did met him this morning. But I want this morning to be the last of it." I angrily throw a sushi into my mouth.

"Hey, there's an old saying that the more you hate the more it comes to you. So stop hating him. I don't see anything wrong with him having the same taste of place as yours." She continued eating her food luxury.

I pouted at her for not taking my side, but what she's saying is the truth though. I also don't understand why I have to be so frustrated over such small things. Is it because it's "him"? Because it's "him", that's why I'm so frustrated?

"I don't hate him. He just… just…" I couldn't find the words to say.

"He completed you." Nicole helps connect it for me.

"What?" I gawked. "But I just met him yesterday. He's no important to me."

"That is just what you wanted to think. Of course you just met him yesterday, but that is why they say love at first sight."

I narrowed my eyes, "I don't love him, I just don't hate him either."

She sighs and places both her arms on the table. "What I'm trying to say is, he is the reason why you are being yourself."

I looked at her intently. Her words pierced into my heart, creating this weird pain that I have never felt it before.

"Out of all the blind dates that I have been setting you up, you have always been calm and uninterested all the times." She continued. "But since yesterday that you met Luhan, your anger—that I have never seen in a long time—came back out. And you gets frustrated at things that you have never ever care in the past. From the way I'm seeing, I think he does mean something to you. You just haven't search deeply into it yet."

I looked away from her honestly eyes and made a small sigh. I suddenly doesn't feel like eating anymore. The more I think about what she says, the more everything seems to connect. I never thought something like this will ever cross my life, but I can't blame anyone because everything must have it's own reason to happen.
