When You Let Your Heart Win...

Chapter Two [Part Two] - You Go And Drop Me...

Belle’s POV
September 12th2013

Downtown, in Seoul, at 8AM, was busy to say the least. I was in the middle of my run, Nikes on my feet, pounding against the sidewalk. I probably should’ve run in a park or along the trail by the river, but I just thought a quick 5K jog around the block would suffice. I had thrown a load of laundry in before heading out, so hopefully by the time I get back, it’ll be done and I can fold and put it away. Naturally, it would probably stay in a basket in the corner of my room, but atleast it was clean.

I was getting the weirdest looks, being the daredevil and running across the road, infront of cars and the like, a few old ladies mumbling obscenities to me, but thanks to my wireless headphones playing my titled ‘Energized’ playlist, I didn’t even hear what they said. Neither did I care, I was focused on pace and time and getting it done. My only planned workout for the day. Fridays have been my chosen day off for almost 6 months, and I looked forward to it. I can do a light workout, pay my bills, and clean my place and just relax.

Being a trainer, my schedule was all over the place, like tomorrow; I have an hour block tomorrow between my hot yoga class, and Minseok’s strength training, so I have to have my lunch at that time, but knowing I have hot yoga beforehand means it’ll have to be something light or I’ll end up getting sick. Yoga in over 100 degrees, is great for the mind and body, but the heat plays such havoc on my stomach.

My stomach was very sensitive, so I take digestive enzymes daily, to help with upsets, nothing is more embarrassing than walking out of a yoga class because you have the runs.

I do a lot of preparation for my meals and when I can kind of eat what depending on my activity level of the day. Last ting I want; is to throw up in the middle of my class. I drank a lot of smoothies and ate light salads, at work to avoid overloading my stomach.

Jogging up the stairs to my condo, and unlocking my door, I felt the cool breeze from the air-con in my place. Using my hip to shut the door, and grabbed a water bottle, I unlinked my headphones and sat in the arm chair; chugging down the water and bringing up my Dads contact info. I had to know about plans for Christmas, so I could go and see my Mom and Richard.

I lifted my Macbook up on my lap, and brought up my calendar app to select dates, and I also brought up my banking app and paid my bills once I realized my pay had been direct deposited. I couldn’t for the life of me remember my Dads schedule, so I chose on a whim to call him once I had the ticket sites up and dates picked out.

Dad wasn’t big on Christmas, but Mom was. So I’d spend it with her, but I’d be back for New Years to see my Dad. But I thought I’d ask incase he decided to plan something for us. It was just Dad and I. He never had the time or energy to pursue a relationship, he said he was happy with Mom, and he was even happier when I was born, so he didn’t need anything else. I hoped one day he’d remarry or atleast get a girlfriend, but I was not about to push him. I was kinda happy he and I met every Thursday for dinner, to talk. Sometimes I’d end up crashing at his place. My Dad and I have a really great relationship, and I loved that I can talk to him about pretty much anything.

“Daddy…” I smiled; once he picked up the phone. “So when did you want to do like plans for like Christmas-New years, such and such,” I looked at the cheap ass tickets featured on the site in front of me. If I waited even another month, prices would go up twice-fold.

“Honey… you do realize it’s the middle of September right…” He sighed. “The leaves haven’t even changed colors. We haven’t even discussed winter releases for our groups, and you’re already on about Christmas,” I knew he was laughing, but I was very much a planner. I needed to plan every little thing, clients at work, workouts of my own, meals, appointments, dinner with Dad, like everything. I felt like I had to plan so I wouldn’t forget any little detail.

“Dad… “ I chuckled. “Tickets are cheap as fuck right now, and if I don’t get them like legit right now, they will be crazy expensive, so would you be okay if I spent Christmas with Mom, and I was back say 31st… and we could do a party or something…” I’d hopefully leave on the 18th, and be back New Years Eve. I clicked the dates in, and found Sprint Air offering, an offering I couldn’t refuse. I quickly ordered them and hopefully Dad will be okay with that. I also needed to notify work, it shouldn’t be that big of a deal. I was super excited to see Mom, it’s been ages since I was home.

“Thursday, you and I will discuss more, I’ll send the car, now I need to get back to my meeting, love you honey,” Suddenly the line went dead. Well I guess I’ll really have something to talk about, come next Thursday. Or Sunday if I could talk him into coming to my house; I always drive to his house; he barely comes here. He’s used to his maids and butlers and stuff.

He once sat in my house, with a wine glass and went to hand it to whoever was supposed to be standing there, and let the glass crash on the floor. He’s a very spoiled man, but I loved him dearly.

I was hoping to see Dom there, with Mom, and maybe even talk Dad into coming. I knew he’d probably go into a shpeel about having winter releases and plans for new year stuff, and so on, but I know Dom would love to see him, and Mom probably too. Katrina has never met him, or Richard. Both know about him, hence the family picture hanging in the foyer of Mom’s Manhattan townhouse. I would love to do an updated picture with Mom and Dad, and Dom. Even Richard and Katrina too. My blended family, that I love very dearly.

Min’s POV

I felt a light jab in my back, and turned to glare at Luhan holding a plastic straw. Fucking child. He was the kid who would shoot spit-balls at someone, and pull their hair. He was in his 20s but acted like he was 12. I went to speak, but Suho cut me off, putting his hand on Luhan’s arm. “Luhan, our big boss, you know the one who paid for that straw, will be here in mere minutes… calm yourself,” Suho, was almost like the Mom of our group, and he tried to keep everyone in line, especially on shows, during performances, any kind of outings.

Luhan and Baekhyun were the most aggravating in public, especially when they would stand together. You just knew something was going to happen. Baekhyun was the mood-setter of our group, and he always made it a fun experience, but he always knew how to just fucking irritate me.

“Don Park,” Manager-hyung introduced our CEO into the boardroom, followed by men in suits. With him, came a stack of papers and a whiteboard. This would turn out to be a very long meeting. I sat back in my chair, and looked at the collectively tired looks on all our guys faces.

A ringtone brought me back from being majorly zoned out, and watched Don dig through his coat, retrieving a newer gen of iPhone, placing it to his ear. “Hi, Honey…” He greeted, trying to explain he was in a meeting, but suddenly sitting in the spinny chair behind the desk. “You do realize it’s September right… the leaves haven’t even changed color, and you’re already planning Christmas,” He waved his hands, making odd eye contact with me. “We’ll talk more on Thursday okay, I’ll send the car, I love you,” He pushed a button and shoved it back in his coat. “My apologies, that was my daughter, shes been here for almost a year, and is kinda itching to go home to see her Mom and brother, anyway… as I was saying…”

When the two-hour long ass meeting was over, we all filed out and went our respective directions. I had planned a session with Belle, for tomorrow morning but now I needed to move it, hence we were starting rehearsals and choreo for our upcoming comeback. We were doing a Christmas Album, Miracles in December, a very vocal driven album, but we needed choreo nonetheless. So I was hoping I could just cancel and then explain my new schedule once I see her. Don pulled me aside once the meeting was over, and congratulated me on my recent weight loss.

I explained I had recently got a trainer to give me the kick start I needed, he simply laughed and said he could’ve hooked me up with his daughter, because she’s a trainer downtown. I was kind of wondering if Belle may have a connection, but I seriously doubted it. Don lived in the extremely rich part of Seoul, and Belle lived closer to the downtown area, in a cheaper condo.

But I still wondered…
