When You Let Your Heart Win...

Chapter Two [Part One] - I'm Trying To Tell You... Dying To Know You...

September 6, 2013.

[Min’s POV]

“No, No, I’m quite good, but thank you,” I looked up from my magazine seeing Belle was walking into the room, waving her hands out. “Really, thank you,” She laughed nervously, letting the door shut. Once I heard the click, her smile dropped and she rolled her eyes. “Fucking wank,” I bet you she was talking about Ben. He seemed to drive her nuts. She tossed her planner on her desk, and let out an exasperated sigh.

“Morning Belle,” I threw out, wondering if she had actually seen me. I was proven wrong, when she spun and stared at me in complete shock. I let my legs go down from the cross legged position they were in. “How’s your morning been?” I was wondering if anything had happened, because she was usually here way before me, and I got here actually 5 minutes later than I should have and she wasn’t here. I stood outside the room, and a girl going by let me in. I think they are starting to recognize me.

“You don’t want to know,” She threw her leg up onto the desk, and tied up her laces. “Have you been waiting?”

“Only a few minutes, not a big deal,” Actually 20, but she looked like she was having a hard time. “You okay? You look kind of frazzled,” I’ve only known her a very short time, but she was so sweet, and had such a big heart, that I felt something deep inside me, a force telling me to keep her safe. I have never felt that for anyone outside my immediate family, or who was part of my group.

“Yeah I’m good, stupid traffic kept me,” She had this distant look in her eyes, and I knew she was being pestered by that Ben guy again. “Yoga today?” I sighed, knowing she was never going to tell me the truth, but I should be happy she was atleast trying to smile, right?

“Oh before I forget,” I lightly smiled, digging in my duffel for my other shoes. I hated being a dick and fucking with her schedule. Her planner was meticulously planned out with little stickers. She’s the only one I know who writes in a planner with a sharpie.

I spun from my duffel, looking directly at the back of Belle, stretched down; resting her elbows on the ground. “I need to…” I trailed off, watching her. She was so beautiful.

“Yeah?” She glanced at me between her legs. “Sorry, I didn’t get a chance to stretch this morning,” She stood, lifting her right leg up past her head. “Keep going, I’m listening,”

“I…um…” I couldn’t take my eyes off of her. She switched legs, and bent at the waist, resting on the tip of her other foot. “I need to… um…” I coughed nervously. Jesus, why can’t I talk? I’ve never had this problem before, even infront of girls. I wasn’t the one who made a fool of his-self infront of girls.

“Spit it out, Min,” Not taking her eyes off the wall, I could see she rolled them. “Your session is only an hour, and if you keep mumbling whatnots to yourself, this could take twice as long,”

“Oh?” I was confused. “I’m only an hour today?” I had every intention of asking her if I could cut out early today, because I was meeting Luhan off the plane today, it was his first time back in two weeks.

“Yeah, you told me last week and I quote,” She cleared her throat, standing back in her normal stance. “… ‘Belle, can I move my extra hour to Friday, and cut out early on Wednesday, I have a Dr’s Appt’, and it’s Wednesday…” Oh yeah…

“Oh haha, I totally forgot,” I laughed it off. Thank god she pays attention, apparently I don’t. “Thank god, you pay attention,”

“It’s what women do, Minseok…” She huffed. She sounded like she was kind of tense. Like she was irritated, and wanted to not be here today, this distant look kept presenting itself in her eyes.

I spun my coffee mug in my hands, waiting for Luhan to get here. He was getting back in town, from being in China to see his parents, and he was supposed to be back about an hour ago, so we agreed to meet for coffee to catch up before we both go back to the dorms.

“There you are,” Luhan sat down across from me, sliding another coffee for me across the table. “So how have the last two weeks been? You look different,” I felt different. I heard the bell over the door ding, when a girl came in, with a Nike brand duffel over her shoulder, and long red hair down past her shoulders, a minimal kink in the centre of it. Must’ve been up in a bun earlier.

“Well, I got the trainer, like I was telling you, and…” I trailed off, watching her accept a mug from the barista, and turned, making slight eye contact with me, before sitting at the table three down from where Luhan and I were sitting. Is that Belle? She sat the duffel on the only other chair at the table. That usually meant, one of two things… either she was sitting there alone, or she wanted to be alone. Neither mattered to me, but I felt transfixed watching her open her own little home brought sweetener packet into her tea, and lightly stir it with the stick given to her, while she scrolled mindlessly on her phone, knocking her bangs out of her eyes every few seconds. She removed the bag out of the mug and sat it on a napkin.

Luhan and I met at the Rubix, a coffeehouse just down by the gym I chose to workout at, and it was also the closest one to the dorms as well. That had to be Belle; maybe this was her lunchtime. I wondered what the daily schedule for a trainer was like?

“And?” Luhan waved his hand in my face. “And what?” He looked so tired. Jet lag was a legit thing. I recalled, when we did a show in Japan, and we were due back the next morning. Our show ended at 9pm, and our flight didn’t leave until 1130, we didn’t get back into Seoul, through the security until atleast 2AM. We had a rehearsal at the SM building at 5:30AM. Half of us just stayed awake, I think Luhan was the only one who actually slept.

“And what… what?” I looked back at him, blinking my eyes letting them reset like an iphone going vertical. “Sorry I missed what you said,” I turned back to the girl. That is Belle. She threw her hair off her shoulder. She looked so different in jeans and a t-shirt, but still had Nikes on her feet. She licked her bottom lip, nibbled on it lightly and let the bright smile flow across her face, lifting her phone up to her eyes.

I wish my eyesight were a bit better, so I could see why she covered her mouth every time she smiled. I tried to figure it out many times. I bet it was braces. She can’t be missing teeth. She doesn’t look like she has bad teeth… It was something about her that was driving me insane, with wonder.

“I didn’t say anything, you kind of trailed off on me mid sentence,” He looked over his shoulder and turned back, with a half grin on his face. “Are you serious? Jesus Christ, Minseok, it’s a girl, go over there and talk to her,” He was always seeing girls in public and telling me to go for it. He sipped his coffee while I felt the heat meet my face. I should’ve been a bit more discreet.

“No Luhan, that’s her,” I discreetly pointed her out, nudging my head in her direction; even though Luhan had already seen her. “That’s my trainer,”

“Seriously?” He sighed. “Maybe she’s meeting a boyfriend, or she’s got a date,” Not with her bag taking up the occupied spot, Luhan. I felt my eyes narrow slightly. If only he read people as well as I did sometimes.

“This guy at the gym, he’s the other trainer, he chases her around, and asks her out like constantly,” She shoots him down every time, she just acts like she has zero patience for his shit. I didn’t blame her; he would drive me nuts too.

“Maybe she finally realized she’s in love with him,” He laughed, sipping on his Americano. “Seriously? If it’s your trainer, go say hey, and introduce me, because she’s fine,”

“Shut up Luhan, I’m not going over to say hey, she’s my trainer, not my friend, or someone I’d talk to in public,” I probably could just walk over and start up a conversation, but I was not with Luhan with me. He’d embarrass the crap out of me.

“Oh my god,” Luhan covered his face, to hide the laugh fighting its way out. “Kim Minseok, you have a crush!” He shouted at me, stretching his long arm out and pointing at me. “You have a crush!” He laughed insanely loud, one of those hysterical laughs that I only ever heard when he was insanely overtired. Judging by the red in his eyes, he barely slept at his parents house, and probably didn’t sleep on the flight either. His giant coffee practically confirmed my theory.

“I do not!” I reached across the table, and slapped his cheek, quite roughly. “Look at her, look at me… No fucking way,” I whispered, so as not to get Belles attention. I was 1000% positive that was her.

“But you agree she’s fine, and she’s your trainer, you know her on a personal level, you’ve got a crush on your trainer,” He giggled, pulling his phone out. “Oh my god, Chanyeol is going to love hearing this,” I was finally admitting it out loud that I do in fact, have a crush on Belle. I didn’t think it meant anything, or that it would amount to anything, and I wasn’t about to test those waters and have it all blow up in my face.

“Don’t text anyone!” I swiped his phone. “Luhan, this can’t go anywhere.. You can’t tell anyone, it’s embarrassing, okay…”

“YOURE ADMITTING IT!” He yelled, in a sing-song voice, getting Belle’s attention for a fraction of a second before she turned back to her phone and tea. “You are admitting to having a crush on someone, this is unbelievable, this is the greatest discovery, since… television,”

“Oh whatever, Luhan, it’s not going to go anywhere, so stop,” I put my hands out, lifting out of my chair to push Luhan back into his. “Let’s change the subject, how was your flight?” I laced my fingers together on the table infront of me.

“Fantastic, so are you two going to go behind the dumpster and make out?” He wiggled his brows suggestively.

“I’m done,” I shook my head. I loved Luhan like a brother, and as a brother, he pesters the fuck out of me 24/7. “You are immature as hell, let’s go,” I had to get him out of there, before he embarrassed me, or he got Belle’s attention. I knew she had heard him, but what she heard, I hoped wasn’t too much.

“You two would be so cute, like Hollywood couple, peoples magazine, front cover cute,” Why was he like this?

“Are you done?” I crossed my arms over my chest. I glanced at Belle, who was now making full on eye contact with me. Fuck, I knew she would recognize me. I didn’t wave, or smile or anything. She slowly looked back down, lifting her phone, and lightly scrolling. Maybe she thinks I’m someone else?

He huffed, running his fingers through his hair. “Okay fine, but when we get back to the dorms, I’m so telling the guys all about this,” As I knew he would.

Notes

Hello everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful Easter. I do apologize for the lack of updates. My computer crashed, so I had to get a new one. Thank god, for external drives :) I should be back to posting regularly. Im thinking maybe one chap a week... let me know what you guys think? And also... do you think Belle heard what they said? I modelled Luhan totally after my brothers best friends little brother. He drove me nuts, like that, he didn't care he was in public, nothing. So I hope you guys don't mind him being like that. I felt it matched him perfectly :D

Anyway, enjoy and let me know what you think :)
