Dream(Joshua x Reader)

As my breathing started to get calm again, I could feel that my eyes were tired of all those tears.
The truth about my parents came as a shock, but that they believed in me just made my heart break.

I slowly distanced myself from Joshua as I sat with my head down in embarrassment.
"Are you feeling better now?" he asked.
My head nodded, like all words was stuck in my throat.
"So what are going to happened now?" I asked, feeling relieved that my voice didn't give in.
"Well, for now, our new manager have to get used how to do the new job, and you are going to continue the training?" Joshua asked.
"Yeah, but why don't you just say Chae's name?" I asked curios, finding it odd.
"Because it makes me mad" he confessed.
"What? Why?" I asked blunt, looking at Joshua's flustered face.
"Because, you look so friendly with him"
"Why does that make you mad?" I asked, feeling my heartbeat fasten.
"Because I care about you" Joshua ran his hand through his hair.
"Oh..." was all I managed to say before I got all shy.

"I know it was weird for just saying it out of the blue, but" Joshua stopped as he gave a big sight.
"But?" I wondered if he had given up on telling me.
"But, I really care about you. We all in Seventeen does."
"I could see that" I smiled, replaying the scene where everyone covered my back during our argument with the manager.
"Can I be honest with you (Y/N)?" Joshua asked, making me snap back to reality.
"S-sure" I nodded.
"When we met you at the island, I was surprised. To see that such a young girl could live there. Not only that, you surprised me again when you showed how stubborn you could be" he giggled, making me look down in embarrassment.
"You did not only do that, you surprised me at the music battle too."
"How?" I titled my head.
"As our previous manager said, you have a talent"

"Oh, that was just..." I tried to defended myself, but Joshua shaked his head.
"You do have a talent (Y/N), use it"
"mhm" I hummed in response.
"It was this one thing that surprised me most though" he mention, avoiding my gaze.

"What could that be?" I thought in my head.
"Charm" he said in a low voice, but still loud enough for me to hear.

"Mine?" My eyes widen in shock and my heartbeat could me heard in my ears.
Please don't be so loud heart, I whispered to myself, hoping that my prayer were heard.

"Yeah, your charm surprised me most." he smiled, locking gazes with me.
"H-how?" I asked, not breaking our eye contact.
"You are sweet, caring and passionate. And when I heard why you ignored me, I realized that it was to protect us."

"I-i didn't want to cut contact with you Joshua, but!"
"He forced you, I know. But the time you stopped contacting me, I felt lonely and the urge to see you grew." he gave me a shy smile as he slowly took my hand in his.

"All the time you weren't with me, I tried to get through everyday. But it was tough. Waking up every day, wondering if you are okay or if you have any troubles. I couldn't bear to see you struggle alone and just sit back and watch. I wanted to be by your side."
A smile were shown on my lips as I squeezed his hand in return. His look at me soften as his eyes started to relax. His force yet gentle gaze made my heart skip a beat as I prepared myself for telling him the truth.
"You know what Joshua" I started as I looked down at our connected hands.
"The time we spent at the island is one of the times I treasure the most. Not only because Seventeen was on our island, but because I was able to spend such wonderful time with you. When we had our random conversations or our vocal lessons" I looked up at his face. His smile had disappeared and been replaced by a sad face, looking down in guilt.

"But I betrayed you (Y/N)..." Joshua explained in a deep, yet hurt voice.

"Well, To be honest, I felt used when I found out the truth, but that don't change the time we spent together" I smiled as I gently started to caress his cheek with my other hand.
A faint smile was shown on Joshua's lips as he firmly held my hand that was caressing his cheek.
"Do you remember when we left the Island and you found me all wet?" I replayed the day in my head.
"Yeah" he giggled.
"You remember the reason why I was all wet?"
"It was something with the ocean right?"
I hummed a response as I let go of one of his hands.
"Because I didn't want to lose this" I smiled, showing him the red ribbon around my wrist.
"The ribbon I gave you at your birthday?" He smiled brighter as he looked at my wrist.
"I didn't want to lose it because I got it from you. You are an important person in my life"

Joshua's deep brown eyes looked at me as my heart skipped a beat again.
Before I could talk, he brought his hand towards my cheek, making me speechless.
"Would you let me talk first?" he asked in his gentle voice.
I nodded in response as he tucked a piece of hair behind my ear.

"I knew this in my heart, but didn't want to accept it. But I couldn't lie to myself anymore. And when you were gone, the answer became more clear than ever." he spoke confident as he looked into my eyes. His eyes were filled with passion, and took my breath away of how attractive he was.
"I want you by my side, I don't want another guy to touch you or have you. Even Chae.
I could say that I like you, but that would be wrong with my words.
My feeling for you are already deeper for the word Like.
I love you (Y/N), please stay by my side"
I brought one of my hands over my mouth, to cover my hanging jaw.
"R-really?" I asked unsure and shocked over his confession.
"I know I am selfish, but I want to prove to you that I am serious here."

"I would love to" I smiled, looking at Joshua's eyes. The gaze was the same, but yet different.
This gaze were filled with love.

He brought me to a tight embrace and started to stroke my hear.
"I won't let anyone have you" he whispered in my ear, making me shiver.
"Not even Chae?" I teased him.
"I know that he is your childhood friend, but not even Chae" he giggled.
"Joshua, Chae is just a good friend. He is more like a brother for me" I explained, leaning my head on his shoulder.

"I don't care, he is still a guy"

"You know what Joshua?" I smiled, returning his tight embrace.
"hm?" he hummed in response.
"You remember when we took the walk around on the island?" I smiled, looking at him.
"Yeah" he nodded his head.
"That night, I told you that I didn't have a dream. But now I do"
"Oh? Will you tell me?"
"You are my new dream Joshua. I want to be by your side because I love you."
He looked at me with widen eyes.
"Surprise" I smiled to him as I closed my eyes and leaned my head on his shoulder again.
"Unfair play" he giggled as he broke the hug and lifted my chin with his finger.
"Can I kiss my girlfriend?" He asked with rose pink cheeks.
I nodded in response as he gently slipped his hand from my chin to my neck.

I closed my eyes and felt a warm and gentle sensation on my lips.

The happiness from the heartwarming kiss filled my heart.

He slowly drew back and I opened my eyes to meet his eyes.

"Even if Seventeen is growing, I'll be sure to have time for you" He smiled shyly.
"Maybe I won't have time for you" I pouted.
"What?" he looked at me confused.
"According to someone, they want me to audition for a debut plan" I smiled.
"Oh really?" he looked surprised, raising one eyebrow.
"So watch out Seventeen, because this rookie group is about to explode the Top Lists" I declared.

"I love you" he whispered in my ear as he planted a kiss on my cheek, making me blush.

"I love you too" I smiled to him.
