Ever More

Kris’s POV

Once Chen and Kat had Kiyoung and Posung out of the way Xiumin crashed into Jongmin knocking him off Sehun. I came running up on his other side while Sehun moved to his front.

“You really think this is going to work don’t you pup?” Jongmin asked Sehun.

“I do!” Sehun says jumping at him.

Jongmin launches himself at him. Sehun was right. He doesn’t care if he gets hurt. Both of them wrapped their front legs around each other hanging on as they bit at the others face. I wasn’t sure how it was going to go fighting with Sehun but clearly he knew exactly what he was doing. Even though he didn’t seem to like fighting, these wolves beat it into him.

Jongmin barely lifted his head to get a better angle and Sehun grabbed his throat ripping at it then throwing him. He crashed into a tree then instantly stood back up running for him. Sehun started charging him when I came running jumping onto his back.

I had a good grip on the back of his neck when he started rolling on the ground to get me off. I pushed off with my back paws sending him into a rock. Before I could get up he was on me going for my throat. I hit him hard with my paw leaving pretty big scratches across his face. He stumbled back for a split second then was taken down by Xiumin. Both of them were rolling on the ground attached to each other biting. Jongmin got the upper hand again throwing Xiumin into the rock wall.

Sehun went running in grabbing him by his back leg pulling him away before he could get to Xiumin again. Jongmin quickly turned around getting his ear. He then quickly let go looking in a different direction. One of them must be done. Sehun took the opportunity and grabbed his throat. Jongmin almost roared from how much that one hurt. All three of us had gotten ahold of him by the neck at this point.

With his huge claws he slashed into Sehun at the ribs. He cried out letting go of his grip. I then rammed into Jongmin causing both of us to hit the rock wall. It shook from our impact causing rocks to start falling onto us. One got me in the head stunning me for a second.

Once the rocks stopped falling onto us he growled at me starting to charge when he stopped again looking somewhere else.

He then slowly turned his head facing me with a snarl as he growled. He then turned directions running at Sehun. Before either of them could reach the other I jumped at Jongmin. We both fell to the ground. He grabbed ahold of my neck and shoulder violently shaking me before throwing me into the rock wall.

Sehun’s POV

Kris didn’t stand up. Jongmin turned to face me charging again. I grabbed ahold of him biting at him. Xiumin went to see if Kris was alright from how bad that got.

As we were fighting we were moving backwards. I didn’t notice the ledge was that close as we fell down the small cliff we were on. We rolled down the side before landing on the ground with him on his back. The impact flung me off him having me land on my side.

“Sehun!” He yelled as we both stood. “Stop fighting me and come back!”

I could hear the desperation in his voice telling me that I was right in my assumptions, the other two were dead.

We then start to circle. “You proved your point. I’ll take you seriously. There isn’t a reason to die for them. We can both get out of here. You can go home. See mom again.” He offers.

I then charge at him. “I’ll see mom when you’re dead!” I growled grabbing his throat. I dug my teeth all the way into him violently shaking him as hard as I was capable of. I then felt the rest of his body fall leaving the chunk of his neck in my mouth. I spit him out as his body shifted back to human.

I then felt a rush go through me. I shifted back to human falling backwards. I felt everything he had. And I then realized everyone he had. There was someone else in the pack. I didn’t know who it was. I then remembered Kris and stood up to go back to them. I turned around seeing Maranda standing at the top of the cliff.

Maranda’s POV

I only saw Xiumin and Kris when we got there. Both of them in their human forms. Kat jumped off of Lay running over to Kris grabbing his hand trying to talk to him. I looked around not seeing Sehun or Jongmin anywhere.

“Xiumin, where are they?” I asked him worried. I hadn’t felt anything but I still didn’t trust it.

“They fell off the cliff.” He tells me.

I run over to the edge looking down right in time to see Sehun rip out Jongmin’s throat. I froze in my spot from the sight of it. I knew we were going to kill them but it didn’t make this scene any easier.

I then felt a strange surge go through me. I started feeling someone else other than Sehun. I started breathing heavily from what was happening. I then see Sehun look up seeing me. He was worried. He must know I saw how he killed him.

He paused for a moment before climbing back up. He slowly approached me to make sure I wasn’t going to start running. “Are you ok?” He asked.

“Yeah.” I said shaking my head trying to clear it. “Yeah I’m fine.”

“You’re sure?”

“We’ll talk at home.” I say trying to smile. “We need to check on Kris.” I say taking his hand.

Lay had done everything he could do but was still worried to move him. “Maranda, go get one of the four wheelers.” He tells me.

“They’re toast.” I told him. “Both of them got taken out in the fight.” I started trying to think of how to get Kris back safely. “The gator! It still has the flatbed attached to it.”

“Go get it.” He instructs.

I turn to Sehun grabbing him them running towards the house. He changes scooping me onto him. Kris was semiconscious when we got back which, was a good sign considering how he looked. Lay and Chen carefully got him onto the flatbed. Kat sat with him as I drove back to the house.

Once Kris was in bed Lay came out telling us he should be ok. He hadn’t lost too much blood before he got there to bandage him up and Xiumin had stopped a lot of it too. After hearing that Sehun and I went to our house.

I set my keys down in the bowl. Neither of us had said anything to each other since we went to Kris. I went to sit on the couch when I feel him lightly grab my waist stopping me.

“Maranda I’m sorry you saw that.” He said not turning me around. “Are you sure you’re alright?”

“I’m fine.” I say looking up at him. “We all did what we had to today.” I say slightly smiling at him. I then remember the rush I got after Jongmin was dead. “What happened after though?” I asked confused.

“You felt it too!” He says surprised.

The front door then opens. We then see Xiumin walk in. “How far down the line where you when you left?” He asked coming in sitting down at the table.

“Omega.” Sehun responded as we joined him.

“Then you have no idea what you just did do you?” He says with a smile. He sees we both have very confused expressions. “You killed an alpha.” He states bluntly. “Which means you’re alpha now.”

I turn looking at Sehun seeing the shocked look on his face. “I thought it was Jongmin because he was beta.” He says mostly to himself.

“What are you talking about?” I asked him.

He turns looking at me pausing before elaborating. “50 years ago, I left because Jongmin was taking us to a battle. He had just taken over as alpha because he killed our dad along with Kiyoung and Posung. I thought because he was our beta that’s why he took the place. I didn’t know it was because he was the one to kill him.”

“That’s more treason then what you did.” Xiumin said sitting back in the chair. “Who is left in your pack?”

“I thought it was just me.” He says turning back to him. “But I can sense someone else.”

“Only one other wolf?” Xiumin asks confused.

“Yeah but I don’t know who it is.” Sehun says shaking his head. “When I left it was just the four of us and our mom. But she is human.” He says trying to explain. “She was in her twenties when her and my father met. She would be in her seventies now since he died.”

“It can’t be her if she is human.” Xiumin says to him. “You have no idea who it would be?”

“No. They must have picked someone up in the time I have been gone.”

Xiumin then stands up from the table. “I’ll go start the preparations then. As soon as Kris is back up and moving we’ll go find out who your beta is.” He walks over to the door turning back to us before he leaves. “Congratulations Sehun. You’re going home.” He says before shutting the door.

Sehun was still looking at the door after he left. I took his hand gaining his attention. He turns back to me with a pained expression on his face. I moved to sitting in his lap hugging him.

“I get to go home.” I hear him say as I feel tears fall from his face onto my shoulder.

I turn my head kissing the side of his. “Lay was thinking it would be about a week to two weeks for Kris to be healed. How far is it? We can start getting ready.”

He looks up thinking. “About five days on foot through the forest. It may be faster if we cut through territories.”

I wipe the remaining tears from his face. “Let’s get ready then.” I say smiling. I get up going to my room getting out a couple bags to start packing up some clothes. I pick up the ones from the floor of my closet that were dirty to wash them. I then notice one of my sweaters is stuck to the floor. I start to pull it when I realize it was in the floor. I lift up the board seeing it was an entire section. To which lead to a secret tunnel.

“Good news.” I call out to Sehun. He walks in the room seeing me kneeling on the floor. “I found out how Kat and Luhan get in here.”
