Ever More

I woke up the next morning expecting Sehun to still be there. I was surprised to wake up alone. I sat up in bed calling for him thinking he may just be in the other room. When I didn’t hear anything I got up getting dressed. I then see a piece of paper on the other pillow I reach over opening it to read it.

“Maranda,
I’m sorry I have to do this. But I want you to understand it is for you. I am not safe to be around. My pack is still hunting me. Anything that gets in their way they destroy. It is only a matter of time until they get here. If I stay I am putting all of you in danger. And I am worried I have been here long enough that they will still hurt all of you. That is why I am turning myself in to them. Maranda I love you so much and don’t want to put you in anymore danger. Please forgive me. And if you can. Forget that I was here. Please continue your life happily and lovingly.
I love you,
Oh Sehun.”

I had started crying as I read it. I couldn’t believe he was doing this. He was taking himself to be killed. I ran out the door with the note still in my hand to Kat’s house.

“Kris!” I yelled as I through the door open. “Kris! Where are you?” I yelled again through tears.

He came running into the room being followed by Kat. “What’s wrong?” He asked rushing over to me.

“He is going to get himself killed.” I say crying harder and handing him the note.

“What are you talking about?” Kat asked while trying to calm me down.

“He is going to turn himself in.” Kris said putting the note down.

“Kris we can’t let him do this. They are going to kill him.” I say to him.

The rest of the boys were in the room by now and knew what was going on. They all looked at Kris for instructions. “Luhan stay here. Rest of you with me.” Kris said walking out of the house. He then turns to Kat kissing her. “For once, please stay out of trouble.” He says before leading the guys into the forest.

Luhan came up behind me hugging me. “It’s going to be ok. They’ll find him.”

“Yeah Kris knows what he is doing.” Kat says reassuringly.

I wipe more tears off my face then turn to Luhan. “I want to go too.” I say sternly.

He looks at me shocked. “Maranda. Now you know I’m usually all for adventures but we need to let Kris handle this. Those other wolves are dangerous enough that Sehun did this. We need to trust his judgment on that.”

Rage was starting to take over in me at this point. I grabbed Luhan’s shoulders slamming him into the wall. “Take me to him!” I yelled. “Or I will go myself!”

He continued looking at me shocked. He hadn’t ever been at the receiving end of my rage before. Kat then chimed in. “Maranda. Calm down.” She said taking my hands. “Luhan we’re going.” She says to him.

“I can’t carry both of you.” He says trying to object.

“You don’t have to.” She says walking away. I then hear an engine turn on. Kat came back around on one of the four wheelers. “Now let’s go.” She says tossing me a bag.

I open it to see knives, bullets, and a gun. All of which were silver. “Good to know where you hide this shit.” I say getting on Luhan’s back after he changed.

“Lead the way.” Kat yelled revving the engine.

Luhan took off into the woods in a different direction than Kris had lead the rest of them. After about thirty minutes Luhan stopped sniffing the ground then growling. We then see a huge silver wolf walk out of the trees in front of us. His growls almost sounded like laughter. He had a Y shaped scar over his left eye. You could see scars all over him where fur no longer appeared.
He then changed to human form. The scars covering him became visible. You could tell he was blind in the left eye from how white it was under the scar. “Well looks like we know why little brother stayed here so long. Don’t we boys?” He said causing two more wolves to appear around us then changing.

“Yeah.” One said coming closer circling. “Say Jongmin, how about we take her. Maybe then the child will come to us.”

“Or we could just get rid of her.” The other one said circling us. “Besides. We can get rid of this wolf easy.”

Luhan started growling deeper at them ready to attack causing the three of them to laugh. Jongmin then spoke up. “Now Kiyoung, Posung. We don’t need to go anywhere. As long as they’re here, baby brother will show up.”

The other two started laughing again as they circled. “How long do we give him?”

“Hopefully not long.” One said snapping his jaw at us.

“Ok. I’m done playing this game.” Kat said getting off the four wheeler. She walked right over to Jongmin pushing him. “This is not your territory. You can’t come here making threats.”

“Wow. Look here boys. We have a little human playing alpha.” He said mockingly making the other two laugh. “Listen Sweetie. We only want one thing. Now why don’t you and your little puppy here run on off home. Call your mate home and we’ll stay out of your way.”

“Sweetie?” Kat asked him glairing.

“Oh shit.” I mumbled under my breath. Luhan crouched down for me to get off knowing what was about to happen.

The next thing we all knew Kat punched Jongmin square in the jaw. His face slowly turned back to her with his one good eye blood red. The other two were growling in her direction waiting for him to give the order. “Alright we’ll play it your way Sweetie.” He said winking at her with his bad eye. “Let’s go boys!” He said turning around. We watched as they walked into the trees changing before running off.

“They haven’t found him yet.” I said getting onto Luhan. “We have to keep looking.” We then hear howling in the distance. Luhan perked up looking in the direction then returning an answer. Kat got back onto the four wheeler following Luhan.

Kris’s POV

“Chen. Anything?” I asked after searching for close to an hour.

“Nothing. Do you think he already got out of our area?”

“No. He has to be here somewhere. He wouldn’t leave without knowing exactly where to go. And from that letter he is expecting them to come here.” I start sniffing the air again trying to get the scent of him.

“He had to have went farther from the houses.” Xiumin says to me. “He wouldn’t risk them getting too close.”

“Lay, Tao. Go to the outskirts. Circle around twice.” I tell them. “Chen, Xiumin do the inside circle. We may have missed him at the river. I’m going to the caves.” We all go into our separate directions to continue our search.

I had just finished my second cave when I caught a whiff of another wolf pack. They’re here.

“Everyone back!” I howled out to them. I then here rustling in the bushes near me. I hear the answers from everyone saying they were on their way. I crouched ready to attack anything that came from the bushes.

I then notice a familiar smell. “Sehun!”

He then comes out of the bushes facing me. “Kris. I know what I am doing. You need to go back.”

“What you’re doing is suicide. And you think I can go back home without you? Have you even met my mate?”

“I’m not letting you all get killed because of me.” He says stomping his paw.

“They are here. You know that. They are going to follow your smell back to the house.”

“Not if I find them first.” He says before running off.

“Sehun!” I call after him. I hear more rustling in the bushes turning around to see everyone. Including a very scared Luhan and the girls. “Goddamn it!” I yell changing. “Kat! What the hell are you doing out here?”

“Technically I’m along for the ride on this one. Maranda wanted to come. I just didn’t say no.”

“Did you find him?” Maranda asked getting off Luhan.

“Maranda.” I say feeling my face soften. “I don’t know what we can do. I tried to talk to him. His mind is made up.”

“What the hell is that supposed to mean?” Kat yelled at me. “We aren’t going to let those three freaks kill him.” I then notice a strange smell coming from the three of them. I walk over to Kat smelling her.

“You ran into them?” I ask furiously.

“They were going to use us as bait before Kat punched him.” Maranda said before walking off.

“Where are you going?” Luhan asked her changing.

“To find Sehun or his pack. Which ever happens first works for me.”

I then step in front of her. “No you’re coming with us.” I say grabbing her arm.

“Like hell I am!” She says ripping her arm away. “You aren’t my alpha Kris. Now Sehun is out there about to turn himself in and be killed because of me. I’m not going to sit at home while it happens.”

“Kris.” Kat says walking up to me. “He is part of our family now. We can’t let him do this.”
I let out a long sigh. “You two aren’t going home then are you? No matter what I say?”

“No.” Maranda says. “I’m finding him and bringing him home. Alive.”

I give both of them disapproving looks then change. Kat gets onto my back while Maranda got back onto Luhan. We took off in the direction Sehun ran in.
