You With The False Image

Chapter 3

Jungkook's POV

The next time I went to school was the Friday of that week. I dreaded last period as I knew that the teacher would give open class time to work on our project. With a long and regretful sigh, I stood up from my seat as soon as the bell rang and left for class. Before heading in, I peeked my head in and scavenged for Woori.

Dealing with her last time, took too much energy.
My eyes fell on her empty seat and my heart almost leapt out of my chest. She's, not here!

Suddenly feeling as light as a feather, I thrust my fist in the air in celebration.

"Hey! Jungkook!" Joonah, the class president came up behind me. "Woori said to go home."

"What?"

He shrugged. "It's what she told me to tell you."

She wants me to go home?
I scoffed and gripped my bag tighter. Does she think that she can do a better job than me?

"Where is she?" I asked.

"Band room." He pointed down the hall. "Are you al-"

"Band room?" I squinted in confusion. "With who?"

"By herself." He grinned. "She's actually working really hard for once."

My brows furrowed and a sudden surge of guilt rushed through my mind. She's working hard, without me?

"Oh, and, I just got these project summaries, could you give one to her when you have the chance?" Joonah held me back before I could run off. "I only had time to tell her what the project was about."

I nodded and grabbed the papers from him without a word. He then gave me a quick thumbs up and pulled me close to whisper in my ear.

"Sorry you had to work with her," he was just barely audible. "But she's really not as bad as you might think she is."

I gave a slow nod. "Okay, thanks."

Joonah let me go and I found myself almost running to the band room. As much as I wanted to not do this project, I did not want whatever image I still had to be ruined by her so called 'work'.

The door to the band room was locked. I twisted the knob forcefully and banged my hand on the window pane. "Woori! Open up!"

A loud laugh perturbed from the room and moments later the door clicked open to reveal Woori's smug expression.

"You came, but see, I have some visitors already."

Woori stepped aside to reveal about twenty or so girls standing in the middle of the room.

One of which was Shina.

-----
Woori's POV

I wanted to laugh. The look on Jungkook's face as he saw the whole room filled with girls, was just priceless. Not wanting to have anything to do with their upcoming argument, I moved around them to the recording room where nothing but the silence could be heard.

With a smirk, I leaned on the table and watched as Jungkook tried to get them to leave the room. His hand pointed desperately for the door, but none of the girls seemed eager to move. With a shrug, I pulled myself closer to the keyboard and played some minor chords, letting the sound blast through the walls and towards their conversation.

Shina turned her head and glared at me with her big brown eyes. All the way from the recording room, I could make out the length of her mascara. Long and black, they hung over and around her eyes, making them look more menacing than need be. Irritated at the way she was looking at me, I played yet another sequence of minor keys and tossed her a smile.

To my surprise, Shina and her gang of girls left quickly after a few minutes. The second the door closed, Jungkook threw his bag to a nearby chair and stomped into the cramped space of the studio room.

"So you're actually working?" He teased and picked up the sheet music that I had started to work on. "Huh, who knew."

"Who knew what." I frowned and snatched it from his hands.

He looked at me in surprise and raised an eyebrow. "You write music?"

I took a step back and slumped back down before the keyboard. "Why wouldn't I? The project says so."

Jungkook chuckled and took out a crumpled piece of paper from behind his back. "The project gave us a choice, to re-write a song, or to write a new one."

He paused and walked behind me. "Why did you pick the harder one?"

I could've re-written a song instead?

"No," I sneered. "The project gave me a choice."

He looked at me funny. "You're really going to do this project alone?"

I ignored him and stared at my music, debating if I should just throw it out.

"Fine, I'll just sit back here and watch."

From the corners of my eyes, I saw him sit on a nearby chair and crossed his legs.

"Here?" I frowned. "This is the recording room, can you sit outside?"

Jungkook scoffed and held up his hands in defense. "I'll leave, I'll leave."

I clenched my hands into a fist as I hear his mocking laughter surround me until eventually, it left with the click of the door. I shook my head and stared at him through the glass of the recording studio. He stared at me back with a brilliant smile and waved his hands for me to continue.

I made a punching movement towards him. God, he's annoying!

I returned to my music, feeling the inspiration leave my body. I played through the first few bars I wrote and slammed my hands on the keyboard.

I can't think! I can't do this!
I glared up at Jungkook who had begun to read with earbuds in his ear. Not when he's here.

With a small groan, I crumpled up my written music and retreated behind the drum set. I banged on the instrument loudly, without much consideration for what I was playing, and tried desperately for that motivation to write again. Jungkook looked up from his book and his eyes lingered on the keyboard.

He leaned forward towards the mic to the studio room and switched on the audio. "You play the drums too?"

There was laughter in his voice. Is he, making fun of me?

I glared and flipped a finger at him. Jungkook looked a little taken aback but didn't say anything else. With my mood now ruined, I stood up from my spot and dropped the sticks on the ground. I brushed my hair back and pushed open the door only to see Jungkook suddenly in front of me.

"Finished for the day?" He beamed, his eyes narrowed, taunting me.

"Get, out, of my face."I growled and pushed past him.

He was a distraction and t
he more I see him, the more unbearable he becomes.

Him, and his brilliant smile.

"Woori!" Jungkook's clear bright voice called for me down the hall as soon as I left the band room.

I spun around on my heels and lock eyes with him, waiting for his next words with my hands clutched at my sides.

"The project," He rubbed the nape of his neck and let his eyes fall to the ground. "Let's do it, together."
