One Thing After Another

BANG!
The sudden noise turning my head towards it, I stopped dancing in my tracks. Seeing Dohyun sunbae standing in the doorway with his arms crossed made my heart drop in my chest. Shit. He already doesn’t think i’m fit for this job, now this was just making it worse. Though somehow, I didn’t feel like I did anything wrong.
“Am I interrupting something?” Dohyun said with a serious look on his face, making me gulp. Squeezing my hands in slight worry, I realised I was still hand in hand with Dino. I looked at him, and then out hands, immediately separating them before Dohyun got the wrong idea. “Is this really how you think you can act?” He said raising his voice slightly and furrowing his eyebrows further. Even though I was worried about keeping my job, I wasn't about to give into him like this. He’d been bossing me around all day.
“You’re the one who asked me to get drinks for every who were going to leave anyway.” I said in my best strong voice as possible. Dohyun sighed at me.
“Act professional Haeun, you too Dino,” he gave each of us a sour warning look. Dino took a few steps towards Dohyun and almost opened his mouth, possibly to explain why we were dancing. I stepped next to Dino quickly, before he could say or do anything that would hurt his image.
I’m the one who started this sunbae… i’m sorry,” I bowed politely to him.
“I’m leaving, and you should be too,” he said before turning around and slamming the door shut again. As the room filled with the sounds of the stereo playing again, I sighed.
“You shouldn’t have apologized, that was my bad for making you dance,” Dino said looking at me, with guilt filling his voice.
“It’s okay Dino. I’m used to Dohyun sunbae being like this…” I smiled a little to reassure him I was fine. I mean i’d taken worse comments and treatment than that. “We should get going though. You have the photoshoot tomorrow.” I walked over to my bag and picked it up, Dino following me to turn of the stereo.
“Yeah, I didn’t realise how long i’d been practising,” Dino said checking his phone for the time. “How are you getting home?” He questioned me as he packed his things.
Shouldn’t I be the one asking that?” I asked laughing a little as I switched off the lights and we stepped out the door. Hearing Dino laugh a little made me calmer. We continued to walk side by side to the building’s doors. “I’m taking the bus, how about you?” I answered his question, giving the same one back.
“Walking. It’s really close to the building,” Dino said and we pushed through the doors and walked onto the sidewalk towards my bus stop. It wasn’t winter but the air at night was sharply cold a shivered a little all the way to the bus stop.

When I came to sit down on the bus stop bench, Dino sat next to me. I looked at him for a second, to see his looking at me in return. “Aren’t you… going to walk to the dorm now?” I said bringing my hands out of my pockets to rub them together.
“I’ll wait here for a bit,” he said hunching over slightly breathing into his hands it was clear he was very cold. “Dino you can go! I’ll be fine out here, the bus is only five minutes away,” I said looking at his cold hands rubbing together. I looked at his face to see his nose red slightly. I can’t believe I was keeping a kpop idol in the freezing cold. I grabbed my necklace and played with it in my hands.
“Chan.” He said breathing out a cloud of mist at me.
“What?”
“Call me Chan or Lee Chan. It’s more comfortable for me. Plus aren’t you the same age as me?” He said looking into my eyes with wide eyes. His eyes making my heart skip a beat, and continue at a fast pace.
“Yeah we’re both 18,” I said finding a smile appear on my face as I rubbed my hands together. He nodded back and looked away across the road, breathing into his hands again. While I kept staring at him wondering what was keeping him out in the cold next to me. He could have easily walked home by now and been in the warm dorm with his hyungs… but he was with me. I smiled a little at how nice it was of him, feeling heart beat rise, heating my cheeks up as well. “Channie…” I decided to test the name out. He turned to look at me and a wide smile grew on his face slowly before he let out a cute little laugh, looking into his lap. “What~?” I asked whining a little at the end. Did I pronounce it wrong again? Why did he have to laugh at that of all things...
“Nothing, it’s just my name seems a lot nicer now that you’re saying it.” He said smiling at me, blinking slowly. Keeping eye contact, I gulped inside my mouth, almost taken aback at how hypnotising the white of his eyes were. And the creases on his cheeks when he smiled…
The rushing sound of a vehicle brought me out of the trance of his eyes. I turned my head towards the road to see my bus had arrived, opening it’s doors for me to climb aboard. I quickly stood up walking with my back towards the bus so I could say to Dino, “thank you for waiting with me, it wouldn’t have been as fun without you here. I’m also sorry for keeping you out in the cold. I’ll be a better manager next time!” I waved before he could reply, and boarded the bus quickly both regretting not being around him longer, and being glad to leave the heartbeat raising situation. I tapped my bus card, and walked along the aisle finding a seat quickly since it was a late night bus. Sitting down I sighed and looked out the window to see Dino waving enthusiastically. I immediately grinned and waved just as enthusiastically back. The bus leaving the station, and out of the view of Dino, I was left to my own thoughts for the rest of the journey. Still smiling I opened up Dino’s contact and texted him, “let me know when you get to the dorm please!” Pressing send all too quickly I worried how unprofessional I was sounding. I mean, a manager can worry about these sort of things as well… BUZZ!
I flicked my head to my phone as it lit up with a notification. “Yes Eunnie manager~! I’m five minutes away. Let me know when you get home safely too okay? :)”
It was only a text, but I smiled at it.
Re-reading it again and again. It sounds stupid but I did. Why? Because it was a small thing I could feel happy about amongst all the other many things I was worried about and stressed about.
The bus reached my stop and stepping off it, I remembered the work that was waiting for me. I created a little cloud with a big sigh I released into the air.

I really think this story has potential and there are a lot of ways I could go about plot and I think that's what's holding my progress a little >.<<br> Hope you enjoy this chapter anyway! Dino and Haeun are becoming closer~~~ WAHH i'm not sure if they suit but we'll find out i guess!
