“Uh, Michael,” Hope said patiently, “what can you tell me about the Seven Deadly Sins again?” She stared at him from across the table.

“We are here in a library to study,” Michael looked up from his novel and whispered back, then tapped her open book, “so keep reading and be quiet.”

“I don’t like reading,” she muttered, crossing her arms.

“Trust me. You’ll enjoy it when you’re older."

“Can you tell me the story? Please? Please? Please?”

“Alright! Be quiet! But next time you try to reduce ‘reading time’, I’ll extend it to your free block. Be thankful I’m going easy on you.” He closed his book and set it aside. Folding his tired hands, Michael began to tell his story.

“When I was younger, I was enlisted into the army as a soldier. It’s amazing how I managed to make it to the top of the pyramid. I would never have imagined I could become a mere soldier to-“

“A head archangel. Now talk about the Deadly Sins! I want to know what happened.”

“Interesting topic for a teenager like you. I’m wondering right now if I raised you right. Well then, while I was in the army, there was the Realms War, the battle between Heaven and Hell. Before that, many started hunting these seven queens God made for Lucifer. These ‘queens’ were basically Lucifer’s minions in charge of more minions in order to bring chaos onto Earth, where they were scattered. So when the war came, God- he loves all of his creations- found all seven queens and made a secret haven for them on Earth to be safe. There, with the help of magic, they had a son each.”

“Why not girls?”

“Because stereotypes say men are stronger and more independent than women. Honestly, I’m not sure. Well, safe, they spent a few years raising their offspring, loving and caring for them. Yes, demons have passion too. Once they all successfully transferred their powers to their child, they headed off to fight their own wars where they eventually died. I really do pity their sons. Well, you’ll be meeting them in a few years time-"

“Wait a minute, if you were there for the Realms War,” Hope scrunched her eyebrows, “how old does that make you?”

“Age is not important!” Michael quickly responded, "It’s how mature you are that really counts! And, besides, we don’t age quickly here in Heaven."



THIRD PERSON POINT OF VIEW
Hope made her way from the kitchen to the main hallway. She admired the art she passed by the day before- I think I’ll look at these beauties before heading to my room- and soon found herself locking eyes with Jin. He was leaning against the wall; it seemed that he was one of the many beautiful sculptures in the room.

“Good morning!” she tried to strike up a conversation, “You’re Jin, right? How are you?”

“Fine,” he spoke, “I’ll be going now. I have things to do. I’m really busy you know.”

“Alright then. I’ll see you later, Jin,” Hope continued to gaze at the other crafted artworks.

“Are you not going to ask me what I’m doing?” Jin blurted out, shocked at how she lost interest in him so easily.

“You said you were busy so I thought you were, well, going somewhere, just like you said.” Flustered, Jin walked toward the kitchen. Hope, slightly speechless, mumbled, “I-I guess I’ll see you later.”

“Don’t worry,” said Taehyung’s calm voice, “Jin’s like that.” He casually walked down the staircase, hand gliding over the handrail.

“You’re Taehyung, right?”

“I should be,” he smiled. Why is it, Hope thought, that I feel a bit uneasy around him? “Let me tell you something, Hope.” He walked toward her and leaned into her ear, whispering. “If you lose someone’s trust, things will get chaotic.”

“O-Okay then.”

“Follow me,” he took her hand, “let me show you something. Remember, don't tell the others about it.”
