Love Cycle
Ch. 1
“Shoot, I’m late!” Ailee panicked as she quickly stopped by at her locker to get her materials for her next class. Ailee quickly walked to room 207, where VSA meeting was being held.
“Hi Hannah!” Ailee greeted as she sat down in a random seat.
Hannah nodded as a greeting before returning to her discussion with the other board members.
Ailee looked around and smiled to herself. It was February, and seeing the environment she is in makes her happy.
“ASDFSAD!” her tummy rumbled.
Ailee blushed as she hugged her tummy.
Suddenly, a delicious smell filled up her nose. She turned to the left and saw a boy eating noodles with a huge eggroll that was cut in half.
The boy felt a stare while he was eating and turned to his right. He saw Ailee staring at his lunch while hugging her stomach tightly. “Are you hungry?” he asked.
Ailee came back to reality and looked up with her eyes widened.
“Woah, she has beautiful eyes,” he thought.
Ailee shook her head as she let out an awkward chuckle. “No, I’m not,” she lied. At that moment, her tummy rumbled again. Ailee flushed as she tightly hugged her tummy.
The boy raised one of his eyebrows at her before shaking his head. “If you’re hungry and you want food, just ask me,” he said as he gave her half of his eggroll.
Ailee’s eyes widened even more as she shook her head. “I can’t. It’s your lunch, not mine,” she refused.
“Sharing is caring,” he said.
Ailee rolled her eyes as she flashed him a timid smile. “Fine…,” she gave in.
The boy smiled as he handed her an eggroll. “For you,” he said.
“Thank you,” Ailee said.
“Okay guys! Time to start the meeting!” Hannah said. “As you can see, Chinese New Year is coming up which means Tết festival is coming up! We are going to need a lot of volunteers this year so please sign up! The signup sheets are on the Facebook page. If you have any questions, just hit me or Anne up.”
“Bless my life,” Ailee thought as she took a huge bite of her eggroll.

School was over so Ailee went on. She logged onto her Facebook and saw Inyoung, Kai, PhuongAnh, and Jenny on. She immediately went onto the groupchat called Swagless 4 that contains her, PhuongAnh, Jenny, and Inyoung. They were all talking about school and more K-Pop. Seeing nothing interesting, she went onto the chat between her and Kai. Kai left her a derp picture she send to him on snapchat. Ailee cringed before replying.
Ailee Nguyen:
I hate you. -.-
Kai Kim:
I know you love me. ;)
Ailee Nguyen:
Ew. Go away. I got to go do homework.
After saying that, she went onto the VSA page and saw the signup sheet. She immediately signed up and smiled in satisfaction.
She saw a friend request and opened it. It was a guy that has no mutual friends with her. She wrinkled her nose in disgust. Sometimes she wonders how people she doesn’t know or people that don’t live in the same state as her know she exists. Before leaving, she saw a glimpse of a picture of a familiar boy. She clicked on the name and opened up a profile picture.
“Jung Jungkook,” it read. The profile picture was a black and white picture of him leaning against a locker that was vandalized with him looking to his right. She recognized the place. It was at Cal Poly Pomona during that one VSA trip back then in November. She returned to his wall and sends him a friend request before logging off. “Time to do homework,” she thought as she pulled out her AP Human Geography textbook and some paper.
