Hard Work

Label-less

Sitting on her bed, Kokyung looked down at her phone again. No missed messages, no texts or calls. She let out a sigh, she wasn't sure what had come over her.
It wasn't like her to be so glued to her phone, waiting for someone to text her first. She couldn't believe what she had become. She had returned home from her classes and rehearsals; she knew it was hopeless to just stare at her phone and hope.

They had been on almost a dozen dates, kissed at the end of almost half of them. She wasn't usually the type to want a title or any form of serious commitment. She wasn't even sure if she was in love, it was just attraction and interest at that point in time.

The memories of their last date ran though her mind; he leaned against the back of the sofa in the small book cafe they were sat in. He was reading a book over music theory, Kokyung smiled slightly. The book was so him, his glasses slipping down his nose ever so slightly. A steaming cup of coffee sat beside him on the small table, his redish brown hair falling over his eyebrows ever so slightly. The books in the cafe they sat in were stacked practically to the ceiling, it was like a small library.

It took her a second to realize she was staring at him. She blushed slightly and looked away from his face. She focused on the book in her hands, she was re-reading poems and short stories by Edgar Allen Poe.

"Kokyung?" His raspy and lazy voice called out to her.

"Ne?" She looked up from her book again to meet his dark brown eyes.

"Would you like to go for a walk around Hongdae?"

She felt a smile forming on her lips at his question, she knew that he didn't like walking around that much but he was making the effort for her.

"We don't have to, not if you don't want to." She said softly looking up at him.

"The lights for Christmas are up around the area, I think it will be pretty."

"Thank you." She said quietly again, she could feel the blush on her cheeks darkening.

"Of course."

He rose off the couch he was sitting on and held his hand out to help her up. She grasped his hand and noted how cold it was. She stood and followed him from the cafe, wrapping her scarf tighter around her neck.

The sun had long since set, she smiled slightly at the glittering of the fairy lights above her head. She felt his cold hand grab onto hers, within a few seconds he had tucked their hands into his pocket. She glanced out of the corner of her eye to gauge his facial expression, a light red dusted his pale cheeks. He seemed nonchalant enough about what was happening.

People passed them by on the streets without a second glance, she knew it was only going to be a small amount of time before he would be seen in public and it would become some form of a scandal. She knew to enjoy the moments while she could.

The lights around Hongdae, the smells of street foods and sweets, the warm feeling of holding someones hand. It was a wonderful evening, the biting cold was hardly as chilly anymore. Kokyung looked up at the lights above her head, they blinked from green to blue to red and then to white. She saw Suga move out of the corner of her eye, she turned to see him looking at her.

"W-what?" She stuttered out.

"Hm? Nothing." He said casually looking away from her and back to their surroundings.

Yoongi stood outside her door, a rather lazy smile on his face. He leaned down and pressed his lips to hers softly. Just as quickly as they were there, they were gone. She smiled slightly at him and bid him goodnight before turning to walk into her apartment and close the door. His kiss was so simple and sweet, it was soft.

A soft groan left her lips as she tried to stop thinking about him, he filled her mind. She was lucky she could even concentrate in classes with how much she thought of him. Her phone sounded beside her mound of pillows. She glanced over at it, hoping his name would pop up.
On the screen read;

Jin-Oppa

- Kokyung-sii, I was hoping you would come over. Suga hasn't been feeling well, so we sent him to the hospital. I'm sure seeing you when he gets home would make him a lot happier.

Her eyes widened, he was in the hospital? What on earth was wrong? She quickly hopped off her bed and realized she was in a pair of sweat pants and a snorlax hoodie. She sighed and pulled on a pair of jeans. She stumbled through her apartment and finally was ready to go, she sent a text back to Seokjin and told him she'd be there in a few minutes. She pulled on a pair of converse and quickly made her way outside after wrapping her scarf a few times around her neck.

The snow in the city was coming down faster than it had been all day, the cheery Christmas feeling was gone. The skies were grey, the streets were emptier than was typical for Seoul.

The station, on the other hand, was crammed with people who didn't want to walk around in the elements. The feeling of another persons breath on her neck was enough to make Kokyung wish she had walked to the dorm.

Finally the doors on the train opened and Kokyung quickly made her way out of the metal tube. She let out the breath she didn't realize she was holding and made her way up the street towards the dorm.

After a few knocks on the wooden door, it swung open to reveal Jungkook. He grinned at her and waved her inside.

"Noona's here!" The youngest member called though the house, after a few moments the five other boys were standing in the living room.

"H-how is he?" She asked, she took in their appearances and realized they were ready to go somewhere.

"Well, he's in surgery at the moment. He'd been having side pains for several weeks, but it finally got to be too much. I had him go to the hospital, apparently his appendix needed to be removed. Manager-nim will be bringing him home when he's allowed to be released, we let our manager know that you'll be here with him." Jin said.

His eyes expressing how thankful he was.

"Thank you for coming." Namjoon's voice called.

Kokyung turned to look at the tall young man, he bowed to her slightly.

"Hyung will be happy to see you when he gets home. I mean, with you two dating an all."

"We aren't dating." Kokyung said quickly, before realizing what she had said.

"What do you mean you aren't dating? You guys go on dates all the time." Hoseok commented, a worried expression crossing his face.

"W-well, we don't use labels or anything - I guess. I don't even know if it's like that." Her voice growing quieter as she spoke.

"Oh. Sorry, we just assumed."

"It's okay. I don't mind watching him, where are you going?" She asked motioning with her eyes to all the bags sitting on the ground near the door where she was standing.

"We're suppose to leave for a string of shows in Thailand and around Korea. Suga told us we weren't allowed to cancel." Seokjin said quietly.

"Ah. Be safe, when should I expect him?"

"We aren't sure yet, sometime either late tonight or early tomorrow morning. We're sorry to burden you with this."

"No burden at all, thank you for trusting me."
