While i was sitting at the dining table, Chanyeol went to get the contract from his desk. He came back to sit in front of me opening the contract folder to start. When he was doing that, he says to me…
Chanyeol : i'm going to be asking you a few questions while you sign the contract.
Chanyeol : i want to know who I'm going to live with.
Jooeun : yes.
Chanyeol : okay, let's start.
Chanyeol places a ballpoint pen next to the contract and faces it in front of me. I followed his instructions and picked up the pen ready to sign. I filled in the basics of the first page while listening to Chanyeol ask me a few things about myself.
Chanyeol : you already know the first page.
Jooeun (*smiles & says) : yes, i do.
Chanyeol began to ask me...
Chanyeol (*asks) : how old are you ?
Jooeun : im 23 years old.
Chanyeol : we’re the same age.
Jooeun : so we’re basically friends.
Chanyeol (*asks) : what do you do ?
Jooeun : i'm an English teacher and the club director at a middle school.
Chanyeol (*asks) : is it near here ?
Jooeun : yes. It's about a 15 minute walk from here.
Chanyeol (*asks) : where are you from ?
Jooeun : i was born and raised in Los Angeles, California.
Chanyeol (*asks) : why did you decide to move here ?
Jooeun : it's been awhile since i've been back so i came back to start a new life here.
Chanyeol (*asks) : what did you do to runaway from living in LA?
Jooeun (*asks) : are all your questions this personal?
Chanyeol : just answer the question.
Jooeun : I wanted to find answers to my life and maybe a career I really want to work towards.
Chanyeol (*asks) : you can speak fluent English and Korean?
Jooeun : yes, very.
Chanyeol : alright.
I finished the first page and Chanyeol turned the next page over for me. The next few pages just required my signature and initials. It was for my understanding of what was coming next if i lived there. Chanyeol quickly says…
Chanyeol : the next few pages are just signatures.
Chanyeol : You just need to read it carefully and sign, that's all.
Jooeun : i understand.
While i was signing my signature on next 5 pages of the contract and reading every single one of them carefully, i started to ask Chanyeol questions back about him. I was surprised to see that he answered them well and calmly.
Jooeun (*asks) : will you be here during the week ?
Chanyeol (*asks) : what makes you ask that?
Jooeun : you said that your a kpop star so i'm assuming that you won't be around for that long in the week.
Chanyeol : i will only be here 4 days a week.
Jooeun (*asks) : is it all for work?
Chanyeol : yes, mostly on tours.
Jooeun (*asks) : what about the other 3 days? What do you do?
Chanyeol : i stay here, go to practice, make music.
Jooeun (*asks) : why don't you live with the members?
Chanyeol (*asks) : are all YOUR questions this personal too?
Jooeun : Yes.
Chanyeol : the dorm were getting crowded with 9 guys.
Jooeun (*asks) : it's not because of privacy?
Chanyeol : that too.
Jooeun : oh.
I was done with signing the papers and reached the end. Chanyeol turned to the last page where it reads :
I, ___________ (name), will be sincere of the living space i am renting at. My things are the owners things and we both share the property together.
By signing this document, I will entile my trust in living at the apartment and true to myself.

I read the document sheet and signed it. Then I faced the entire contract in front of Chanyeol and asked….
Jooeun (*asks) : how do you want me to pay you?
Chanyeol : cash, check, or you can transfer the money onto my account.
Jooeun : okay.
Chanyeol : I said on the phone that the deposit is $100.
Jooeun : i have it right now so you don't need to worry.
Chanyeol : Rent is due at the beginning of the month until you move out.
Chanyeol : it's $350 a month, the cheapest price i'm going to ask from you.
Jooeun : i have no problem with that.
