Chapter 16: Begin
Breaking News: A New CEO?
A letter has been found in the desk of SME’s former CEO, his will claims that the heir to the next CEO will be EXO’s co-manager, Kim Joon Gook.
I smiled.
Finally, our plan is set into place.
I walked towards my closet grabbing my black backpack.
I’m sorry for doing this, but this is your fault oppas.
I yanked off my wig revealing bright red hair.
“Who are you?”
I turned around and narrowed my eyes on my supposed “parents”.
“The less you know, the better.” I brushed past by them, before being stopped by his grip on my arm.
“Where were you on August 15?” He paused, his grip loosening. “You can’t be….”
“I told you to mind your business old man.”
Lay’s POV
“Lay, are you ok?” Chanyeol gripped onto my arm, his eyebrows furrowed in concern.
“Yeah, so just let go of me.” swinging my arm free.
Chanyeol looked startled for a second before he awkwardly scratched his head.
“I-I’m not trying to,” he began before looking down on the floor. “It's just that lately, everybody seems to be distant. I only want to know what's going on. I want to help.”
I bit my lips together, looking away from his honest face.
“Hyung, what is happening? Why is everyone acting this way? Do you know what's going on?” I could hear the pleading in his voice.
My heart tightened.
I turned around without looking back at him once.
“I don't know what you're saying, So stop bothering me.”
I walk up the stairs feeling his eyes on my back.
A sudden image of Chanyeol entered my mind.
The look of betrayal.
I ran up the remaining steps feeling the daily pain that struck my ankle. I slammed the door just as my legs collapsed underneath me.
Blood dripped from my nose splattering onto the wooden floor and staining my white shirt. I reached my hands out towards my phone checking the time.
I closed my eyes briefly realizing the tears I once shed dried up. I stared blankly at the space.
I took a deep breath and clicked on my phone.
Static ringed through my ears as a very familiar voice spoke.
“Ah, Yixing sunbe. So good to hear your voice. Seems like you're fine.” I could hear the smirk playing on his lips as he spoke.
I scowled.
“If it wasn’t for you,” I replied weakly. “You did it intentionally, didn’t you.”
A low chuckle vibrated through the phone.
“Now why would I want to hurt our little star.” He mocked.
“Cut the crap and get to the point. Why did you do it?”
“I don’t have a reason sunbe, it was just an accident.. But if it wasn’t,” He lowered his voice. “Exo would be the same without you. Ever noticed how many parts you get?” He laughed. “Remember when you finally got to dance more on stage, it was only because Kai was injured. In fact Exo would be better without you.”
He snickered. “ Exo will fal-”
I threw my phone across the room, hearing the crack of the screen.
My breath became heavy, from the sudden movement, making my head feel lightweight.
The world spins around me until I suffocated in the darkness.
My time is running out.
Kyungsoo’s POV
I was captivated to the black box. It was as if it was calling for me to look in it.
Entranced I grabbed the box out of its hiding spot in the closet and opened it.
Just as I remembered, the white sand started turning a dark color until it became pitch black.
Realization dawns on me once the first flickers of images began to appear. I slammed the box shut and threw it back in the closet.
With a shaky breath I got up from my spot on the bed and started walking towards the door.
“Oppa.”
My breath caught in my throat as I looked around in bewilderment.
Where-Where is she?
Flashes of colors swirled around me, blinding my eyes.
I saw myself..
“I gave you a choice,” a woman’s voice said. “Now it’s what you choose that will affect Exo. ”
“I” sucked in a deep breath.
“Fine, I’ll do it. But first answer my question. Who are you?”
“Me?” She stepped out of the shadow, smirking. “You know me as Cheon Jae Hee.”
