Have We Met? [Sequel to A Deer and A Baozi]

Chapter 4

Sehun's POV

I met her coincidentally on one of my photoshoots, not long after Ling had left for America. She was an understudy for one of the big name models that we were working with. When I first met her, she was shy and didn't talk much. On the rare occasion I had the chance to see her smile, but apart from that, she never really caught my eye, not with Ling still in my mind.

"You're heartbroken, aren't you?" She had said to me after one tiring session of posing at the camera.

I was surprised as to how she knew and the two of us started to converse more on the subject. Naturally, the two of us talked for hours until, eventually, meeting regularly was the norm. She called herself my love consultant, and at the time, it was definitely a plus to have someone to talk to. Feelings must've developed on her end faster than on mine because about two months after, she proposed the experiment.

"I'll help you, if you fall in love with someone else, it'll help you forget her."

She suggested herself. It took a while for me to agree, but eventually, desperation got to me and I went along with it.

It's been almost two years now, and I thought I was doing well.

Or so I thought.

As Eun Jae introduced herself, my eyes stared unblinkingly at Ling's reaction, looking desperately for that flicker of annoyance.

Show me something Ling, and I'll stop dating her.

There was nothing, just a flat stare. The members showed far more emotion. Chen almost ran me over as he tackled me.

"Aish, of course, the maknae gets a girlfriend." He said between gritted teeth.

"Alright, alright, settle down now." The director tossed me a dirty look and motioned for me to sit down.

Eun Jae insisted that she sits next to Ling. She squeezed herself next to her and grinned from ear to ear. As the director spoke, I watched her eyes dart back and forth from me to Ling.

Could she have been jealous? But she knows the feelings I have for Ling, doesn't she?

Eun Jae's eyes locked with mine and a small smile spread across her lips. It was a subtle smile, almost like a smirk.

"Sehun," The director slammed his hand on the table, making me jump. "Pay attention."

I nodded my head apologetically and took one last look at Eun Jae. Beside her, Ling raised an eyebrow at me in question. I tossed her a smile and looked back at my notes, letting the words of the director wash over me. My mind was set on Ling and Eun Jae.

The meeting went without a hitch but the director insisted that we come back in the afternoon. Our manager contacted our next schedule while we conversed in the lobby of the office.

The two girls were planning on tagging along with us to the schedule. While our manager and Ling's manager sorted things out, Kai and D.O told me about something that happened this morning at the dorm. I couldn't listen, my eyes kept looking to Eun Jae and Ling. Something was off about the way they were talking to each other.

Eun Jae was friendly, too friendly.

-----
Ling's POV

Eun Jae made sure we exchanged phone numbers as soon as we had the chance to talk privately.

She grinned excitedly as she looked through her contacts. "We'll be the best of friends!"

I nodded slowly, feeling slightly hesitant about the new friendship. I looked over at Sehun curiously, wondering how the two of them met.

"Sehun's great you know?" Eun Jae leaned closer to me. "He's an absolute darling when it comes to being a boyfriend."

She looked me up and down and when I didn't have anything to say, she continued.

"He's dreamy, and patient, and everything you can ever ask for in a boyfriend."

"I-" I was getting quite uncomfortable with the topic. "I'm sure he's great."

Her expression dropped with a slight disappointment, but she recovered quickly. "So, Ling, how about you? Any boys you're into?"

My eyes widened and I stepped back from her. "N-no, I'm just-"

She giggled and pushed me on the shoulder. "Aw, don't be shy, I'm here to talk if you need it."

"R-right."

For the rest of EXO's schedules, Eun Jae stayed attached by my side. She talked endlessly about Sehun and their countless dates while I could only nod in understanding.

Around the end of their schedule, Eun Jae decided to find Sehun. I watched her run off excitedly, feeling relief spread through my body.

"Are you having fun?"

I turn to see Luhan holding out a bottle of water to me. I bowed my head and accepted it.

"It's alright, I guess." I muttered, feeling his arm brush against mine.

I felt his stare on me, but didn't know what to say. We stood in an awkward silence for what seemed like ages, before he broke it.

"Your memories," he paused, choosing his word carefully. "How much of it do you remember?"

I could hear the pain in his voice as he forced the last few words out. I turned to him and our eyes locked.

"I don't ever remember meeting you, if that helps." I said quietly, feeling the guilt creep up my spine again.

He nodded. "You shot season one of Life with EXO with me. We were MCs together."

I raised an eyebrow in interest. Really?

"Or for the first half anyways, some-" he paused and glanced at Xiumin nervously. "Some things happened that made you leave."

I followed his gaze to Xiumin and watched as he posed for his photo shoot. When he caught my eye, he gave a light smile. Some things? Involving Xiumin?

"But anyways, I don't want to overwhelm you." Luhan muttered and ruffled my hair with a smile. "Take your time, don't hurt yourself."

I watched as he walked away without even glancing at me again. There was something about the way he spoke to me that hid an immense amount of pain. Things of the past. Things I don't remember.

My ignorance of my history with EXO was really starting to eat me out. Every member talked to me as if they knew me, and each of them looked at me with so much sadness that I can't even begin to comprehend.

Just what happened in my past?

-----
Luhan's POV

We went back to the office late afternoon. The members were exhausted from their schedules and so was I. On the way back, I couldn't help but glance over at Ling. She had a frustrated look on her face that even Baekhyun's jokes could not scare away.

Had I said too much? Maybe I shouldn't have-

"Luhan, get out of the car." Our manager's voice interrupted my thoughts. I snapped out of it and realised that all eyes were on me. I made a brief eye contact with Ling before heading out into the office. It was hard to make eye contact.

Kris and I were the first to enter the office, the minute I stepped in, I knew what was in store for us. I cursed under my breath as the familiar blonde locks of the girl I hate the most in my life, swung around.

The other members stopped dead in their tracks as well at the door step. All of us had the same thought. What was she doing here?

"What's going on? Go inside!" Ling's annoyed voice rang out from behind us and the members backed out of the room, shielding her from the threat that now sat in the office.

It didn't take long for Ling to push through us and stumble into the office. Her eyes locked with the girl's, and for a split second, there was an intense and heavy silence.

"Borin!" Ling's voice was shocked but not angered.

"Lingling!"

I watched in disbelief as the two of them ran into each other and held together in a warm embrace. Memories of all the cruel things Borin had done to Ling flash before my eyes in an instant and I stumbled slightly backwards.

No, she can't have-

She can't have forgotten this too.

Can she?

WHAT IS GOING ON

I feel really suspicious... A sryinge? Maybe he is trying to make her forget all her exo memories for real ... The syringe had something in it? Or was it empty? And he acted like he was in Ling's life before, and that talk about "I wont let you ansnd (cant really remember xD)" almost sounds like what Luhan would say. Strange ...

And nooo Tao baby don't be like that *sobs*

How can you write those scenes, I'll never be abe to write them ... I'll probably end up sobbing and throwing my keyboard on the floor and my computer at the wall. Hehe ^^

Good luck with your updates! Fighting! :)
