Have We Met? [Sequel to A Deer and A Baozi]

Chapter 14

Ling's POV

The day I was discharged from the hospital, a surprise was waiting for me at the front desk. I had barely recognized her due to her extra plain clothing and her baseball cap. However, when she spoke, it was evident that she had been hurt. Alot.

"Ling," Her big brown eyes widened at me.

"E-Eunjae!" I blinked at her, wondering if it was just my mind playing tricks on me. "What are you doing here?"

There were tears at the corners of her eyes and her lips were quivering, on the verge of bawling. "I had nowhere else to go!"

And then she lost it. In the middle of the hospital lobby, Eunjae cried her eyes out, her arm, latched on to mine for dear life. I looked around nervously as clients had started to stare in concern.

"Eunjae, what's wrong?" I patted her, leading her out of the hospital slowly and carefully. "Let's find somewhere to talk alright?"

She nodded and the two of us headed towards a small cafe in the corner of the street. I helped her order her drink and had to pose for a few pictures before going to sit with her in a private room, courtesy of the generous cafe. The room was small, lined with a tatami mat and a small coffee table at the center of the room. I helped her sit down and took my spot across from her before finally leaning in and asking what was wrong.

"Ling," She hiccuped, more tears streaming down her cheeks. "Ling, Sehun broke up with me!"

My eyes widened, unprepared for that sudden burst of information. "What? Why!?"

She wailed loudly and wiped her nose with a spare tissue. "He broke up with me Ling! I thought we were doing good as a couple too and-"

"Calm down," I passed her another tissue. "Slow down, and tell me so I can understand!"

She blew hard into the tissue. "Sehun said that he hadn't gotten over you."

"Me?" I blinked. "What do you mean?"

Her breathing slowed down and her eyes darted to her drink on the coffee table. "He told me that he had always been in love with you, ever since he gave you that ring of his."

The ring?

My mind jumped to the rings hanging by the chain around my neck. I put down the coffee and pulled out the chain, lifting it over my head and handed it to her. "I'm sorry, I don't remember which one of these-"

"This one." She pointed at the largest of the two rings. It's silver engravings gleamed in the dim lighting of the room. "He gave it to you during one of his fan signings."

I bit my lip and tried to remember, but nothing came to mind. Was it possible that Sehun gave me something during a fan signing? To me, a mere fan?

My thoughts were once again interrupted by her loud wailing and I jolted my head up to look at her. She sneezed loudly into the tissue again and placed her hands on mine urgently. "Please Ling, what do I do?"

I stared at my own brown eyes, reflected in her wet ones. Was I ruining their relationship?

"Sehun is about the best thing that's ever happened to me, I don't know what I'll do if I-"

"Eunjae." I said firmly. "I'll talk to hi-"

"NO!" She screeched. "He'll think I did it, he'll think I made you!"

"Eunj-"

"He's biased for you, he'll blame me for everything!" She continued. "He'll hate me more, Ling! Dont make him hate me!"

I shook my head, guilt rushing up my spine and making me shake with frustration. "I won't! I won't!"

There was a moment of silence between us where we avoided each other's eyes. The silence that hung between us was only broken by the short hiccups of Eunjae's cries which, to be honest, made me want to cry as well. My mind was a flurry of thoughts, both frustrated and confused. Why was Eunjae here to talk to me about this? It wasn't my business, even if Sehun still had feelings for me.

I frowned, remembering Sehun's behaviour just a few days ago. I must've felt it then, yes. Eunjae was probably right.

So I was ruining their relationship.

With a sigh, I broke the chain on the table and passed her the silver ring, forcing it into her hands.

"Take this, take it and return it to him." I insisted, my voice shaking with guilt.

"Tell him, that I have no thoughts of ever returning his feelings for me."

-----
Luhan's POV

The dorm was empty when I returned to it after my short schedule today. After changing my shoes, I slumped into the living room, dropping my bags beside me with a sigh.

Ling is being discharged today. I wonder if she's okay.

I looked around the silent room and heaved myself upstairs to my room. Before I entered, I paused and turned to look at Ling's door. The light seemed to be on inside. Was she home?

With a little bit of a pause, I turned and knocked quietly on her door, only to see that it was already left ajar. "Ling?"

The door creaked open as I set my hands on it and I distinctively took a step back. Ling's room was empty, but the small lamp by her bedside was on. I smiled and walked inside after a short pause. It's so like her to forget to turn off the light.

To my surprise, the light was surprisingly cool, signifying that it hasn't been lit for very long. I raised an eyebrow and looked around the room. It's neat atmosphere showed no signs of Ling ever being here. In fact, it didn't even look like Ling had come home at all.

So who turned on the lights?

I spun around and searched frantically for a sign. Someone's been here.

I hadn't noticed it before, but there was a small mess in the corner of her desk. I hurried over and sifted through the papers that have been evidently messed up. Pages after pages of scripts for the show and-

Out of the corner of my eyes, a black envelope caught my attention. On its cover was a name written in a bloody red. Ling.

I paused before putting the papers back on her desk and bent down to pick up the envelope. "A letter?"

"What are you doing here?"

I jumped and swung around, hiding the letter behind my back. "N-nothing!"

Sehun stood at the entrance of Ling's room, his hand placed on the handle of the door and his eyes, fierce on mine. "Why are you in Ling's room?"

"I was just leaving." I managed to stuff the letter into my back pocket. "I wanted to turn off her light."

His eyes looked at the unlit lamp light then back at me. "It's off."

I swallowed hard, sweat dripping down my neck. Sehun didn't seem to let me budge from my spot as his eyes traced around the desk. "Were you looking for something?"

I shook my head and moved forward, walking past him and out of the room. He stopped me at the door just as I was about to go into my own room, pulling me hard enough to make me face him again.

"Just so you know," A smile played on his lips, his brows narrowing in taunt. "I broke up with Eunjae. I have just as much right to be with Ling as you and Minseok."

I lifted an eyebrow at his lack of formality. "Excuse me?"

He smiled and patted me on the shoulder before bumping hard against my shoulder while he walked downstairs. "Keep up Luhan, don't get left behind, again."

I frowned, anger suddenly blooming within my chest. Was that, an insult?

I grit my teeth and resisted the urge to turn around and throw something at him. With a click of my tongue, I stormed back into my room and took out the envelope. I tore open the letter and unfolded the brown parchment paper, my hands clutching still at the black envelope.

Who does he think he is, acting all high and mighty.

The message was short and evidently written in a haste. My hand shook as I read the message over and over again. It sent a chill down my spine and yet, I didn't really understand it. Whoever wrote the letter, was certain that I was going to pick it up.

The letter was addressed to me.

From twelve to three, to zero.

WHAT IS GOING ON

I feel really suspicious... A sryinge? Maybe he is trying to make her forget all her exo memories for real ... The syringe had something in it? Or was it empty? And he acted like he was in Ling's life before, and that talk about "I wont let you ansnd (cant really remember xD)" almost sounds like what Luhan would say. Strange ...

And nooo Tao baby don't be like that *sobs*

How can you write those scenes, I'll never be abe to write them ... I'll probably end up sobbing and throwing my keyboard on the floor and my computer at the wall. Hehe ^^

Good luck with your updates! Fighting! :)
