Friendship Connections || EXO

Chae Seol’s POV

As we reached the SM Entertainment Building, my heart skipped a beat because of nervous. I got down the van and face the building. I felt my cheeks grew hot and red when the Exo members rest their arms on my shoulder except for Kai with his hands on his pockets silent and just looking at us. They look at me in the eyes and chuckled.

“Don’t worry Cheollie, we’re all here for you and whatever happens inside, we didn’t regret every single thing that we spent time with you.” Kyungsoo said with a bright smile.


It eases my mind and my heart when I heard what he said. But it also gave me nervousness. We walked inside when the receptionist led us to the practice room. The door opened when Exo’s manager came with a tall women and another man.


“Oh! Ms. Jung? Why are you here?” Xiumin asked with surprise.

“I’m here to take care of another business with another person.” She replied as she sighed deeply.

Exo’s manager stayed in the practice room as Ms. Jung looked at me and gave me signals to follow her. I followed her and the other man until we enter a makeup room.

“I’m Jung Eun Hye. Exo’s second stylist and Girls Generations’ main stylist. And your name is…..”


“I’m Park Chae Seol.” I finished her sentence.


“Could you turn around for me please?” She asked while looking at me from head to toe.
I turned around as my eyes lingered on the man standing with us behind the door.

“I’m Kang Mi Neul. I’m in charge of the choreography here in SM.” He said. Every word that he said has a sarcastic feel on it that makes me more scared.


“You’re figure is impeccable!” Ms. Jung said with almost a yelling voice. She held my chin slightly and inspect my face. “I’m impressed Ms. Park.”

After, we went to another practice room different from where the Exo members are.

“Do you have any dancing or any stage experience?” Mr. Kang asked.

“Yes, I do. In my high school days, they have this University clubs and I joined both singing and dancing.”

He connected his phone to the speaker and he played some random song. It doesn’t have any lyrics to it so you just really have to go with the flow of the beat and rhythm.
I just focused on my reflection through the mirror. My mind was like blank so I let my body do the rest of the dancing. I saw Mr. Kang’s expression and I wish and hope really hard that he’s pretty satisfied with my choreography.


We left the room without saying a word. Then, we entered a big room that looked like meeting room. I stood near the door when Ms. Jung gave me a folder.

“I just want you to sign and fill this paper up.”

When I opened the folder, the capitalized bold letters caught my attention.

SM ENTERTAINMENT TRAINING CONTRACT.


I widened my eyes as Mr. Kang handed me a pen.

“But, I’m only here for 2 weeks just to visit Korea and my friend….”

“And the Exo members?” Ms. Jung cut.

My mind was filled with confusion as she looked at me in the eyes seriously. Meeting with the rest of the EXO members is totally out of my plans. Plus, I wasn’t expecting JYP Entertainment asking me to audition. And especially being a trainee at SM Entertainment is gonna be hard for me.

“Look, we know some JYP Entertainment staff gave you a business card yesterday right? Now, you don’t have to go though auditions to pass and be an official trainee. On this contract, only 2 months Chae Seol! 2 months that’s what we all need from you to become an Idol. We have an upcoming girl group debuting in 2 months and we want you to become one of the members.” Ms. Jung explained.

I was total speechless. I can feel my mouth wide open in disbelief ‘Is this really happening?'

“We’re gonna write a letter to the JYP staff that you declined their request under the name of SM Entertainment.” She said as she held my shoulders. There’s no need for her to explain more, because her eyes says it all.

I sat down as I signed the paper with doubts at the back of my head.

‘I just, I just hope that I’m on the right track on signing this contract. I will ready myself physically and mentally whatever what’s in front of me. I hope I’m on the right path.’
