Chae Seol’s POV
After our first stage performance the rest of us got down on stage for a rest while our sunbaenim’s are performing on stage. I drank some water when my eyes lingered on the guy pulling some girl forcefully on the way out of the backstage. A girl who’s back was really familiar. I put my water bottle down and listened to their footstep as I follow them nervously and as I follow them, I bravely walked through the dark way.


As I was l following their steps, they stopped walking and the image of the girl hit my mind.
I stopped on my tracks.


‘Yeo-Yeon Ra?’


Before I could think of anything else, someone covered my mouth with their hand forcefully. I tried to fight but I failed.


I closed my eyes and forcefully tried to shout with my mouth forcefully being closed. In a split second guy slammed my back on the wall and I felt the pain rushed through my whole body.


With his mask on, I stared at his eyes and studied it.

‘Who in the world are you?’ I asked in my mind.


He looked at me from head to toe and I saw an evil smile forming behind his mask.

He step forward to me and I thought of running. But it was too late as I moved an inch, he held my wrist and pinned it on the wall.


I tried to escape but he held me really tight that I could feel my wrist getting colder because of the lack of blood circulation.


“Aah!” I whimpered in pain. “Let me go!” I yelled at his face.


“You think you can escape? In this place?” He chuckled teasingly.


“Let her go or you’re the one who will never return to where you came from alive.” A cold, serious voice interrupted. ‘No matter who it is, thank you. You saved my life.’


“Mwo? (what?)” The man in the mask loosened his grip as the other man stepped closer on us with his hands on his pocket. His identity revealed as he stepped out of the dark shadow.


‘JUNGKOOK?’


He scratched the side of his forehead and smiled teasingly with his left hand still in his pocket.


“Are you deaf? Yah. Let her go and run. If you still want to live, run. You messed with the wrong person.. This girl that you’re holding right now, has A LOOOTTT of knights. Just saying.” He said confidently and pointed on his hand on my wrist.


“And I’m one of them you bastard.”


The guy in the black mask finally let me go and immediately attempted to throw a punch at Jungkook but Jungkook was too quick that he was able to duck.


Jungkook quickly gave the man a comeback and kicked him in the stomach.


The man stood up, scared and ran as fast as he can while his hands on his stomach in pain.

“aish!” Jungkook fixed his jacket and sleeves.


I looked at him in shock and his confident eyes earlier were now filled with worry.


“Are you okay? Aren’t you hurt anywhe-” He looked at me and stopped when he saw me holding my wrist that was tightly pinned on the wall earlier.


“Give it to me.” He demanded.


“What?”


“Your hand.” He said in a serious tone that was trying to hide his worry behind.

I stared at his face and studied every angle of it. His eyes focused on my hand while my eyes were locked into his side view.

'Why is he being this nice to me?'


“He didn’t hurt you anywhere else right?” he said as he inspected my wrist to my fingertips. I quickly looked away when he caught me staring at him and I felt the hotness burning on my cheeks.

I shook my head silently.


“You have a bruise. I need to take you to the infirmary. Follow me.” He locked my hand with mine and slightly pulled me to follow him.


“But I-”


“Where do you think you’re taking her?” Someone said from behind that made us stop.


‘I know this voice...’


Jungkook held my hand tighter and we turned around to see who it is.


“I said where are you taking her?” His voice got louder.


JONGIN-AH!


“To the infirmary. She has a bruise I need to take her there.” Jungkook replied.


“But you’re not taking her anywhere.” He shook his head


Jungkook intertwined his fingers with mine and dragged me when Kai grabbed my other wrist.
I looked at the both of them as they locked their eyes on each other and the dead silence occurred between us.


“We’re not going anywhere when the both of you are like this. Jungkook-ah thank you for saving me earlier but I’m fine and I still have a performance to go. Both of you stop it please.”


I left them in the dark and rushed near the stage and that’s where Akkane catched my shoulder to cry on. Still thinking about what happened earlier, that I’m not safe with that guy and that he can comeback anytime I don’t expect. My heart was filled with worry and doubt but I shook it off and continued working hard for this big day.

//AUTHOR'S NOTES: Is it true that Yeon Ra just appeared out of nowhere after atleast 2 months of just disappearing and not visiting Chae Seol? What other revelations can this cause to Chae Seol? Will she be able to believe other voices and opinions coming to her mind against her best friend? But is she really what she calls 'Best Friend?'
