Lets Not Fall in love.

My knees were pulled into my chest as he drove.
‘’So who was the man?’’

Asked Choi at a red light. I thought about lying. Maybe he saw Hyungwon when I was with him. But then he asked, ‘’The man Taeyang and Daesang saw you with down town.’’ He explained. I internally sighed in relief. ‘’That was my Mom’s boyfriend.’’ I said turning my face away. The feeling of unease still within me as he drove. I didn’t bother asking where he was taking me. Whether I would get an answer was totally different. So I didn’t bother.

‘’Don’t worry, I’m not taking you to some field to murder you, you can relax.’’ Choi said, but that didn’t help, especially when he reached over to touch my thigh, I slapped it away.
‘’Why are you harassing me?’’ I asked cringing back from him when he looked over at me. He pursed his lips like I was thinking about it. ‘’I can’t give you a proper answer like that right now.’’ He said with his eyebrow raised. Causing my confusion to worsen. I relaxed into the seat and pouted a little bit.

Choi chuckled. I didn’t understand why he did. ‘’You’re one lucky girl. I don’t usually take in little stray cats. But you got something I like. And I’m trying to figure out what that is.’’ He explained to me.

‘’Hold on, because there might not be any getting off this ride.’’ I think I set a new record for how many times I had blushed in my life maybe. I didn’t know how to respond to that.
I frowned slightly when I realized that I was in an area I didn’t particularly recognize.

Choi walked around the other side of the car after parking and opened the door for me. ‘’What are we doing?’’ I asked him as I got out. He put a hand on my shoulder as we walked. ‘’You’re gonna run a few errands with me, K?’’ I hesitated and tensed in his hold.

‘’What kind of errands?’’ I asked curiously. To which Choi rolled his eyes.

‘’You ask a lot of questions, little lady. How about just enjoy the moment and wait for answers to come to you?’’ I opened my mouth to respond, but then closed it. That was an odd thing to say. But maybe that’s what I ought to do. After all, I still didn’t know if he would hurt me or not.
Choi started steering me to a small café. The words ‘Sip happy’ were pink and in the bubble style. The catchy, cute Korean pop music could be heard every time the door opened. It was pretty empty aside from a few people in the back corner sitting and talking with their drinks and little cakes.

Behind the counter was medium height girl with long red hair tied a ponytail. He lips were stained red and her face was focused. At first I thought she looked rather nice. That is until she looked up and saw us. A crinkle of annoyance came across her nose and she huffed and turned in a flurry. I was confused when I heard Choi chuckle behind me. A few minutes later. A tall woman with long silver hair appeared. Her full lips were in a pout and her aura was pulsing with attitude. Choi leaned over to counter to her, the small woman with red hair behind the silver haired woman.

‘’How’s my number one?’’ He asked her. And she quickly hissed back.; ‘’Kiss my ass, you latte hustler.’’ I froze. But Choi didn’t react. He reached over to tickle her under her chin, but she snapped at his finger with her teeth. They stared each other down for a while before she huffed out a sigh and let her eyes roam over to me.

She stared at me for a long time. Looking me up and down. I didn’t know if she was internally insulting me or just staring at me. But then she turned to Choi, still speaking Korean she asked him, ‘’is this your new victim.’’ The way I stared at her must have given her the illusion that I didn’t know what she was saying. Because she kept going when Choi didn’t say anything. ‘’She’s a child. cradle snatching pedo.-‘’

‘’I don’t see that being any of your business, Chae.’’ He interrupted her. ‘’Get me the mocha, would you.’’ A bitter smirk spread across Chae’s face when he said this. But she addressed me. ‘’and for you, Sweet pea? Cotton candy frappe?’’ I looked away from her intense stare. ‘’Uh, sure. Thank you.’’ She giggled. ‘’Poor little lamb.’’ She said in Korean. But then went on to glare at Choi. ‘’Gotta love her, Chaelin.’’ He muttered. I looked up at him and frowned. Already I was being treated like a side chick! It wasn’t like I had agreed to be ‘His girl.’ But I wanted to go home. Chaelin and her friends were all pretty, flawless. But I wouldn’t show my jealously. I simply asked; ‘’So… you and her?’’ I tried not to look at him, but the way I cast down my face and looked at the floor probably made me look really pitiful.

Choi chuckled. Always a chuckle. Never a full on laugh. ‘’That’s so cute!’’ he exclaimed taking me over to a booth. It was white leather stitched with pink. ‘’Jealous already are you?’’ he asked me. And I rolled my eyes and crossed my arms like a child. ‘’No, I was just wondering. She’s really pretty, Miss Chae.’’ I said while casually playing with the hot pink napkins in the sparkly napkin holder. Choi reached over to make me look at him. ‘’That’s kind of cute, to be jealous. But no. It was nothing like that. Not for me anyways. Don’t get me wrong. I like my girls… But so does CL.’’ My face was probably s pink as the napkins I was paying with. ‘’Oh…Oh!’’ I said and sat erect in my seat. Learning something new everyday.

A baby pink drink slid in front of me and Choi was pushed over by Chae sliding in next to him. She began speaking to him. ‘’She’s too cute to be with you.’’ She told him. ‘’How do you know she’ not one of us?’’ Choi smiled dangerously at her, but changed the subject. ‘’Did you get the information?’’ he casually asked her. He didn’t look at me.

Something changed in CL’s eyes and she looked taken aback. ‘’Of course! When have I ever failed you?’’ she said flipping her silvery locks over her shoulder. ‘’I always got what you need. Don’t ask me dumbass questions.’’ Choi laughed and motioned for me to take a drink. Which I did so it didn’t seem like I was hearing something I wasn’t supposed to.

‘’You always push it, Chaelin.’’ Said Choi, and he rubbed his chin as he looked over at me. ‘’How so?’’ asked Cl. She looked big and tough next to him. Like she wasn’t intimidated. But that quickly changed with Choi’s tone of voice. ‘’That fast ass mouth of yours is going to get you into trouble. I will never hit a woman but I’ll smack a bitch.’’ This caused CL to rear back up. In English, she turned to me and pat my hand. ‘’I feel so sorry for you.’’ She said. But just then, The woman from earlier, the one with the long red hair came over and rested Choi’s cup in front of him. She turned to look at me. She, too was speaking Korean. ‘’Look at her.’’ She said reaching over to gently feel my hair. ‘’If we had girls like her back in the day, we’d make bank.’’ She said. It wasn’t rocket science figuring out what she was referring to. But she smiled as I looked up at her in wonder; She was kind of hot.

CL followed up with a smile. ‘’She’d be far off better out there than with him. This fucker is going to tear her apart.’’ There was silence then. I awkwardly sat and looked at the three faces. But matters were made worse when Choi said in a casual, yet obviously bemused tone: ‘’She's half Korean, she can understand everything you're saying.’’

I’d never seen a face turn pale so fast.
