Being Neighborly
Thanksgiving Dinner.
Miya went back to cooking dinner. Max took a shower and got ready for the dinner. Dyanna came back from the market with Lia. Dani helped her bring up the groceries into the kitchen. Dani told Dyanna about Miya while putting the groceries in the fridge.
Dani : so Miya came by to borrow some parsley.
Dyanna (*questions) : who’s Miya ?
Dani : Max’s older sister, Miya, is in with her husband and kids for the holidays.
Dyanna : i didn't know he had siblings.
Dani : yeah, he does.
Dyanna : that's good of them. They're here for thanksgiving and Christmas.
Dani : Miya invited us over to Thanksgiving tonight at Max’s apartment.
Dyanna : Dani. we always have Thanksgiving dinner together tonight.
Dyanna (*asks) : why did you take that offer ?
Dani : hey. I had already said no but she told me to go anyways. So i couldn't say no anymore.
Dyanna : that just means i have to make something quick to bring over there.
Dyanna (*asks) : people like pie right ??
Dani (*laughs & says) : everybody likes pie.
Dyanna : go get Lia ready and you too.
Dani : got it.
Dyanna made a pie while Dani showered and dressed Lia in the room. After Dyanna was done putting the pie into the oven, she went to get ready. She wore a nice white lace arm sleeve shirt tucked into a high waisted light pink long skirt, white style sandals, tan clutch purse, hair curled down prettily. After getting dressed, she pulled out the pie to let it cool down. Lia came running out to sit on the couch watching TV while Dani was getting dressed. A while later, Dani came out of the room dressed in a long navy blue dress, a staple necklace, gold watch, gold high heels, hair curled down, blue clutch bag. Dyanna and Lia looked up to see Dani all pretty for the dinner.
Dyanna : wow sis. You look great.
Dani (*smiles & says) : thanks sis.
Lia : Auntie Dani, you’re pretty.
Dani : thank you Lia. right back at you.
Dyanna (*asks) : so are we ready to go yet ?
Lia (*tells Dyanna) : i'm hungry mommy.
Dyanna : we are going to eat now. Let's go.
Dani : let's go.
Dyanna took the pie, Dani, and Lia walked out of their apartment to next door to Max. Miya opened the door to see the three standing there happily. Miya was wearing a long white maxi dress with a tan thin belt in the middle holding her waistline. Miya welcomed them inside and got comfortable meeting everyone. Lia went to play with Sophie (Miya’s youngest daughter). Dani introduced Dyanna to Miya and then Dani went over to talk to Jayden (Miya’s husband).
Dani (*asks) : so your Miya’s husband ?
Jayden : yes, indeed.
Dani : it must been tough with three kids.
Jayden : at first they can be a handful but we already got used to it.
Jayden (*asks) : i'm assuming you don't have any kids besides Lia ?
Dani : i don't have any but one day it’ll be nice to have kids. Lia is my niece.
Jayden : i see.
Dani : you must be happy to be here in New York City celebrating the holidays with Max.
Jayden : yeah. It's been awhile since we all seen Max.
Jayden : the kids really love spending time with their uncle especially during this time of year.
Dani : that's good.
Jayden : yeah.
After talking to Jayden, Dani walked over to the living room to look at the pictures on the top of the shelves. The kids were still playing around the apartment while the adults be hanging out and talking before eating dinner together. Miya came over to Dani to see if she was alright.
Miya (*asks as standing behind Dani) : are you alright ?
Dani (*turns around & says) : yeah, i'm fine.
Dani : i was just looking at the photos on the shelves.
Miya (*asks) : you like ?
Dani : you have a happy family. it should stay this way forever.
Miya (*asks Dani cause she seemed worried) : are you sure your alright ?
Dani : there's just some things on my mind right now.
Miya (*asks) : you want to talk about it ?
Dani : i plan on taking a job elsewhere and i dont know how to tell Max.
Dani : i really care about him and i dont want him to get hurt, you know.
Miya : i know exactly what you mean Dani.
Miya : but you have to tell him in whichever way you can.
Miya : let him know before you leave at least.
Dani (*nods her head & says) : thanks.
Miya : i hope everything will be okay for you and Max.
Dani : thank you Miya.
Miya : time to eat, lets go.
Miya gathered everyone into the dining table to eat dinner together. Once everyone was done eating dinner, they gathered in the living room to hang out before leaving.
