The Roller Coaster That Is Life

Chapter 3: Updating Friendship

Nita's POV

Several weeks later

Nita didn't know how she had obtained such luck, for herself. Almost two months ago, she was looking for a place to stay and now she not only had a place to stay, but familiar people around her. Part of her still couldn't get used to the fact that she was now friends with Super Junior's Choi Siwon and Lee Donghae. Both guys had been a huge help in getting her moved in, not that she had a lot of things to bring in. It was just her luggage and her trash bag purse, she wasn't too worried about those things. Now her main problem was looking for a job. She knew that she wanted to work for one of the music companies she admired, which meant she had a lot of research to do, but she was putting that on the back burner tonight. She wasn't going to think about what she needed to do, tonight she was cooking a thank you dinner for Siwon and Donghae. They were both such wonderful people, since they'd meet her, they'd done everything to help her. Since she didn't have a job yet, they brought all the groceries and necessities she needed.
Her sense of honor didn't let her go, she'd promised herself that once she had found a steady job, she would pay them back for everything. She appreciated them and thanked GOD that he'd brought them to her. She laughed at that thought, the only way she'd met them was because she assaulted Siwon. Tonight's dinner was going to make up for all the trouble she had brought on to him. She was making homemade pizza. They'd already brought everything she needed, she'd spent the morning chopping up the veggies she needed. The rest of the day went into making the dough, rolling it out and cooking and cleaning the apartment. She didn't like having a dirty place, even though she tries to keep everything neat on a daily bases, every once in a while she'd get lazy. After dinner they were going to have a movie night. Both Siwon and Donghae had been out of town due to their work, and they had called a couple days back, to let her know they had some time off and wanted a home cooked meal. She didn't know very many Korean dishes, so she decided to make something she knew how to make. Pizza. It was loved by everyone. She just hoped they liked it.
She wasn't worried about anyone knocking. Both of the guys had keys to the apartment, one reason being that the apartment she was staying at was Siwon's old apartment, before his company renewed the floor above for Super Junior, now he and Donghae live right above her, and the second reason was because he was the owner of said apartment. She had been suspicious of him, when he'd asked about her living arrangements, and they were confirmed when he'd told her that it was his place. She couldn't figure out if he was just being nice to her, or if he had other reasons for doing this.
She heard the front door open, "Give us about ten minutes, we'll clean up and be ready for dinner," Siwon said walking in lugging his duffel bag on his shoulder. Nita still had a hard time seeing him and not going completely fan girl, she was smokin' hot after all.
She smiled to herself, "No worries, I still have to put the pizza in the oven, by the time you two get done cleaning up, the food should be ready too," she had opened the oven to put the trays of pizza in.
Siwon set his bag down near the sofa and came into the kitchen, "You haven't eaten yet?" he asked, looking down at her with worry clearly etched on his face.
"Of course, not, I said on the phone that we'd all have dinner together, plus you know I don't like eating alone," Nita said, looking at him, "go and get cleaned up, you look like crap, I'm sure once you get some food in you, you'll look more alive," she finished, while setting the oven-mit on the counter.
Siwon smiled at her and turned around to go clean up.
Ten minutes later, both guys and Nita where lazing on the sofa. Pizza sitting on the table in front of the couch and each person in their favorite spot.
"You brought this and just warmed it in the oven, didn't you?" Donghae asked accusingly.
Nita looked at him like he was crazy, "Of course not, I made this myself. You guys said, you wanted something made at home, I don't know very many Korean dishes, so I decided to make what I did know how to make," she finished giving him and exasperated look. How dare he think that!
"You're saying you made this from scratch, like actually making the dough and stuff," Donghae asked, clearly surprised at the fact that she could cook.
"Yea, everything's fresh, I made the dough this afternoon, cut all the veggies this morning, and cleaned the apartment in between doing those things. I can cook, American, Mexican, Indian, and some Italian foods pretty well, I just have to have the ingredients," she said, while taking a slice of pizza into her plate, both of the others had already started eating the hot pizza, but Nita had to wait to for it to cool down a little, before she ate.
"So you're saying, that you can cook everything but Korean dishes?" Siwon asked in between a huge bite of pizza.
"Yea, but I want to learn some Korean cooking too. I think it'll help, if I ever meet someone who only likes Korean food," she took a drink of her soda.
"I wouldn't mind if you didn't cook Korean dishes, we get enough of that when were out working," Siwon said, looking at her, "I'm not saying you shouldn't learn if you want to, but if you ever make anything for us again, we'd prefer everything but Korean," he finished saying with a smile.
Nita smiled, "Okay, I'm sure I can manage that. So, how was it? Judging from the nearly empty second tray, you guys seemed to have like it, right?" she asked, she would always get nervous, when making food for other people. She didn't want anyone to eat anything they didn't like.
"It was great!" both exclaimed at the same time, Nita couldn't do anything but smile, she merely got up picked up the two trays and went to the kitchen.
Donghae was quickly behind, with the dishes they'd all used, " You know we're being serious, that pizza was better than any I've tried out. It was delicious. Thank you," he set the plates on the counter and gave her a back hug. Nita was used to back hugs, because her brother's used to do that a lot, the thought immediately brought a pang to her heart. She missed her brothers and the rest of her family.
"Seriously, Donghae, stop making her feel uncomfortable," Siwon said to Donghae, then turned to look at her, she was sure she had tears in her eyes that he could see, "and he's right, thank you. Here why don't Donghae and I clean up, you can chill, I'm sure it won't take us to long, then we can start the movie together," Siwon said taking the pizza trays from her hand. They really were sweethearts.
She made her way back to the living room area of her apartment, she put the Hindi movie into the player and sat down in a comfy position on the sectional. She preferred the corner with nice plush blanket, she didn't have a plush blanket, but she'd get hers as soon as she could get all her belongings here.
It didn't take long for Donghae and Siwon to finish cleaning up, she'd pretty much just had the dishes left to do, so that meant, that's all they had left to do too. Both sat down on either side of her, Donghae scooted close and set his head on her shoulder. That was another thing she was used, her younger brothers would also do that. One benefit of having lived in a house full of boys, you never got confused. Siwon laid down on the sectional and put his head in her lap, she reached for the remote and hit the play button.
Apparently the quite movie night wasn't meant be, it didn't take long for the crashers to arrive. She was surprised they'd waited this long, "Ahiego, you guys don't even lock the door, what if you got down to the dirty and someone walked in," Eunhyuk said playfully.
It also didn't take long for Siwon and Donghae to put a miles worth of distance between themselves and her.
"What are you guys doing her?" Siwon asked in a chilling voice, clearly they'd been told to keep their distance but couldn't resist. She smiled to herself, they reminded her so much of her brothers. She took that moment to take a look at who had walked in. Her fan-girl was awestruck, she was in the presence of Super Junior, or at least four other members. There was Eunhyuk who made a really cute and hard to get girlfriend, there was Ryeowook, who was tiny, but oh, so cute, you just wanted to hug and cuddle him. Then there was Shindong who just looked normal, which wasn't a bad thing, the guy was far more approachable then the other members, he didn't intimidate, and finally there was Kyuhyun, the guy that always dripped of sexy. No matter what kind of video, be it funny, intimate or cute, the guy just oozed sexy, nothing could change that. Her fan-girl was on the floor twitching with a puddle of blood next to her, with a trail leading straight to her nose. She was sure she looked funny too, because both Ryeowook and Siwon were staring at her. She immediately composed herself, she was just about to ask, when Kyuhyun said, "So where's the food, I'm hungry." Clearly the guy had no manners behind closed doors, she found that mildly amusing, she smiled, which got her a double take from Siwon. He hadn't been expecting that. She came from a family filled to the rim with boys, she had expected some if not all of the others to come by, regardless of what Siwon or Donghae had told them. It was only natural to be curious about the person your friend is helping out, especially if it's a girl.
"No problem," she said, she looked at Donghae and Siwon, and asked, "you guys left the leftover out, right?" they nodded their heads, they really looked surprised, they really hadn't thought that their friends wouldn't come, how silly. She looked at them again and asked, "There were four pieces left, right?" again both guys nodded, she smiled at them, and looked at the others, "Good, you guys can start with that, I'll pull the other three out of the fridge, it'll take about twenty minutes tops, for the oven to pre-heat and then another ten minutes for the pizza. I'm sure you all are okay for the waiting, right," she looked at Siwon then roamed her eyes at the other faces in the room, she smirked. They had honestly thought that she wouldn't have been prepared, they still had a lot to learn about her.
Her gaze went back to Siwon, "You really have no reason to be surprised, first of all you knew I spoke Korean from the get go, and second of all, you know I plan ahead. I wasn't sure if the others would be coming too, so I went ahead and made some extra ones in case they came too."
She decided to let him marinate with that thought and headed to the kitchen. With only the job ahead as her main focus, she never noticed that she had an audience in the kitchen.
With years of practice cooking dinner for her impatient brothers she quickly got to work, she turned on the oven and went straight to the fridge, she knew she could Rachel Ray everything to the counter, so she stacked two of the pre baked crust on one arm and grabbed the third tray with her second hand. She slide all three trays on the table at the same time. She went back to the fridge pulled out the bottle of pizza sauce, cheese, and the bowl of cut veggies all in one go, no one had the time to make three errands to the fridge. She quickly uncapped the bottle, poured in a circular motion with one hand while the other used a ladle to spread over the pizza. She just as quickly reached for the bag of cheese and sprinkled it lightly on three pizzas. She always sprinkled a little before she'd put the veggies on it, because it would help the veggies stick to the pizza. She grabbed the bowl of cut veggies and covered the reminder of the pizza, before she reached for the bag of cheese again to add the finishing touch to the pizzas, just as she got to the last one, Shindong said, "Could you add a little more on that last one?" He really was the normal one out of them, she smiled and winked at him, giving him the confirmation that she heard his request and went straight back to work. By the time she finished sprinkling the last bit of cheese, the oven had dinged earlier, she stacked the trays the same way she'd got them out of the fridge from, and one by one slide them into the oven. It was while she was putting the pizzas in the oven did she notice the wide eyed stares coming from the bar surrounding the kitchen, she'd been so caught up in her work she didn't notice they'd been watching her. She closed the oven door and took a bow, not sure if she performed well or not. All they did was stare, no applause, no cheering, no nothing, just a whole lot of staring. She was about to say something, when Donghae asked, "Is that how you did the other two pizzas?" his expression was priceless, he didn't believe she'd actually done all the work.
Nita leaned against the counter, "Neh, back home I was usually cooking for nine guys at a time, so I had to be quick," she looked at him, but her mind went back to her home in Texas, to the family that was there. Her seven brothers, Aiden, and Nathan, they had never been patient, especially when they were hungry.
"Wow, nine guys, you really got around, didn't you," remarked Kyuhyun, the guy really was a different personality behind closed doors. At least he was honest about it, many people try to sugar coat their thoughts, she was mildly pleased with his retorts.
"Well, six of those nine were my younger brothers, I have one older adopted brother, and the other two guys are close friends with my older brother, so it's not what you think," Nita decided to add a little something in there to see if there would be a reaction, "You seem nastier in person, Mr. Kyuhyun, though you seem to drip with sexiness on camera, in reality, you're quite a jerk." Nita's eyes causally roamed over the facial expressions of the others in the room, they were priceless, apparently she'd hit the nail smack dab on the head. Who'd of thought.
"Well don't we like to voice our opinion," Kyuhyun quickly remarked back, clearly she'd gotten under his skin. She smiled, "I'm sure everyone has thought it at some point or another, they just don't say it. I don't care. I'm fan of Super Junior, as long as you don't mess up the harmony on audio, you can have whatever kind of personality that you want," she finished while shrugging her shoulders.
"I think I'm in love," Eunhyuk shoots ecstatically, while fake falling in love.
She couldn't help but smile at him, she was just so cute, so she flirted back a little, "I'm sure you'll survive the heartbreak," a giggle escaped her mouth, she never giggled, but frankly Eunhyuk was so cute she couldn't help it. In her head, her fan-girl was having a fit of giggles and was a bright red in the face.
To stop a potential giggle fit in reality, Nita decided to redirect the conversation, "By the way, you make a really cute girlfriend you know."
They were all wearing a WTF look on their faces, when suddenly Donghae busted out laughing, and looks at her. She looks at him and smiles, he knew what she was talking about.
In between his laughing, he said, "She's talking about the one Chinese variety show we were on, where he played the role of a girlfriend." It didn't take long for the others to remember, when she looked at Eunhyuk he was as red as a tomato.
Soon after the laughter died down a bit, Shindong looked at her and asked, "So if you have a family in the states, why move to Korea?"
Nita didn't remember telling them that she moved from the states. It was obvious that she'd been discussed early on between the group. Shindong's question sounded honest, he was just curious, and since she'd be spending time with them, she figured honesty would be the best policy, but they didn't need to know every detail. Her gaze went to Donghae and Siwon "I'm surprised those two haven't asked me that question yet," which was the truth, she really didn't know why they hadn't, she was sure they'd been curious about her too, "I was disowned and asked to leave. My father gave me some severance pay as a housekeeper, telling me never to come back. After spending a night at a friend's house, I decided I needed to leave the country." That was the truth, her decision to come here wasn't so bad, she had gotten the honor of meeting her favorite idols. They were all sitting in one room having a conversation, like they were all good friends.
"Why leave the country and not just move to a different town or state?" Ryeowook asked, Nita couldn't help but find him so cute, she'd keep him there if she could, he was just adorable.
Setting her fan-girl on a leash, she answered, "Because my family is everywhere in the states, there wasn't a place that I could go, where I wouldn't meet someone who knew my parents or siblings." That was the truth too, she had a large family, and if anyone ever decided to start looking for her Korea really was the last place they'd look for her.
"Why Korea and not London or Paris?" asked Eunhyuk, she'd thought about that, but then she'd remembered that most of her father's side family lived in both of those cities, if she ever came across them, she'd always be watched and she didn't want that. "I have family in both London and Paris, it would have been tricky not to accidently run into them, that part of the family actually has very busy lives, they travel a lot not only around their respective country but around the world."
Nita was surprised that Mr. Dripping-with-sexiness hadn't asked anything yet, but then, "Why were you disowned, why did your parents kick you out?", he asked. Clearly being a jerk came naturally to this guy. She didn't have to tell the whole truth for this question. She didn't expect the others to understand the kind of relationship she'd been in, "They didn't approve of the relationship I was in," she answered, praying that she didn't give anything away. She had never been ashamed about her relationship with Aiden and Nate, but she was on a constant ledge worrying about the criticism of others.
"Then why not live with the boyfriend? Did he dump you after your family kicked you out?" Nita was ready to change his name to Mr. Jerk-off, the guy was clearly insensitive to just about anything. "My first judgement of you wasn't wrong, was it. My father has connections, he could have made my ex-boyfriends' life a living hell, if I had gone to him. It was safer for them if I wasn't close by," Nita could mildly smell the pizza, which meant that either it was done, or it was close to being done, she bent down to look through the window. It was done, she smiled, "it's done, that really didn't take long."
She quickly pulled the pizza out, cut the pieces and served it to the guys. It must have been a while since they'd had something home cooked to eat. As they took the first bit, their eyes became as wide as the plates the pizza was in. She instantly started worrying that the pizza sauce might have been too spicy, "What? Is something wrong?" panic over taking.
"Wow," exclaimed, Eunhyuk, as he winked at her.
"OMO!! It's delicious!!" yelled Shindong, grinning from tooth to tooth.
"Delicious." stated Ryeowook, looking seemingly elegant while eating a mere pizza. Nita wanted to laugh.
"It's okay," stated Kyuhyun, taking another bite. Nita smiled, she had expected something a bit more harsh from him, but alas Mr. Jerk surprised her.
Clearly her first thought had been right, it really had been a while since they'd had something home cooked, "I'm sure you guys are overreacting because it's been a while since you had something home cooked," she finished, going back to lean against the counter.
"Will you invite all of us the next time you make something, I'd love to come back," Ryeowook spoke up, Nita looked around to see the others nodding their agreement, including Kyuhyun, which made her raise one eyebrow. The guy acted completely indifferent, but couldn't say what he was really thinking. She was mildly annoyed at him.
"Sure, I wouldn't mind. Just so you know, I don't know how to cook Korean," she added, she didn't want them to expect something that she couldn't do.
"No problem, we get plenty of that," Ryeowook said with a full on all teeth smile, Nita was blushing, she couldn't help it, he just so cute.
She quickly turned around and started cleaning up what she could, while the others ate, hoping that no one noticed her blushing.
As she was cleaning up, she couldn't help but think about how her life had changed in a matter of two months. She still couldn't believe she was in an apartment and was friends with members of Super Junior. She smiled to herself and continued what she was doing.

Siwon's POV

Siwon had a pending excitement within him. He was glad from taking a break for all the rehearsals and promotions the group was doing, to be honest he needed the break. Throughout the weeks he had been working, he'd also been worried about Nita, when she moved in to his old apartment, she didn't have much but her broken purse and her luggage. He'd known that all her belongings were still at her home in the States. He wanted to do something for her, but he wasn't sure if this was it. He wasn't sure if she'd get offended or not, if he told her the truth, so he decided to wait.
It had been several weeks since he'd seen her, and both Donghae and he had been keeping updates with her. They had both mentioned missing home cooked food while working, when she'd offered to cook something when they'd be back home. He was excited, she was full of many surprises, he'd spent a good amount of his time coming back home wondering what she had made.
"Yah, do you know what she's going to make?" Donghae asked nudging his shoulder.
He'd been lost in his thoughts, "I'm sorry, what?" he asked looking at Donghae.
"I asked if you know what she's making, you know, Nita said she's making us something, right?" Donghae now had a questioning look on his face.
"I don't know, she said she'd make something," Siwon said causally, he wasn't sure if his excitement showed or not.
"Who's Nita?" Shindong asked, they'd all been in one van since the airport, Shindong, Donghae, Eunhyuk, Kyuhyun, Ryeowook, and himself. Since they all lived in the same building, it made since to go in one vehicle.
"She's renting out Siwon's old apartment downstairs, she's pretty cool. She offered to make something homemade, so Siwon and I are having dinner there tonight," Donghae finished.
Siwon was getting a little annoyed with him, why did he have to announce that right now, what if the others asked to come.
"Does she cook well?" Ryeowook asked, Siwon knew why, the guy looked small, but he could pack away the food. In his case, looks really were deceiving.
"Is she cute?" Eunhyuk asked, typical question coming from him. He was always after cute girls, Siwon was hoping that Donghae wouldn't answer that one, he wasn't going to.
"You guys trust a foreigners cooking?", Kyuhyun asked, always the blunt and mean questions with this one. Siwon wondered what Nita thought of his fellow group members.
Donghae answered them, quietly, "She says she cooks well. Cute? Maybe a little, and trust a foreigner's cooking?," he looked at Kyuhyun with one raised eye brow, "The last time you cooked something, it looked like it was part of the pavement, and if she hasn't died from her own cooking then I trust her cooking, it has to be better than yours," Donghae answered with a smile. Siwon had to give him credit, Donghae liked Nita, and was protective like a brother when someone talked about her. He'd set him straight too, a couple of days after she moved in.
It was the second or third day since she'd moved in and the two of them were bring in groceries. Nita hadn't wanted to do any extra shopping, because she was low on money. When she'd told them that, they offered to help her out. She refused flatly, she'd said they'd helped her out enough and she really didn't want to impose. Siwon had gotten pissed off at that, and just walked out. Donghae had caught up with him, and explained to him that she wasn't being rude. She was independent and didn't know how to accept help. Since then, Donghae and Nita have had a brother-sister relationship, or he hoped that was case.
"Could we come?", Shindong asked, clearly curious.
"I don't think that's a good idea, she's a fan of Super Junior. I don't think she's ready to see more than the two of us right now," Siwon answered aggressively, he didn't want to share her with them right now and plus the dinner she was making was for the two of them, "and it would be rude to tell her last minute about extra people," he said matter-of-factly, trying to cover the earlier aggressiveness. It hadn't worked, the others were giving him a questioning look.
"What you like her or something?" Kyuhyun asked, with is signature, 'really' look.
Soon enough they all had a similar look on their faces, "That's not the case, she asked us, it really would be rude to invite everyone and she run low on food."
Siwon had tried to look as relaxed as possible, he wasn't sure if it worked because they still had that look on their faces.
The van came to a stop, thank god, for that he thought.
"We're home," Ryeowook said excitedly, making his way out the van, "see you guys inside, I'm showering and then falling in my bed."
"Did you want to head to Nita's and just clean up there?" Siwon asked Donghae, Donghae nodded picking up his duffel and handing Siwon his.
"Sure, let's go," Donghae headed towards the building.
They all squeezed into the lift duffel bags and all. Luckily Donghae and Siwon got off a floor early, seeing that Nita's place was under their shared apartments.
Siwon opened the door, since he had a set of keys. The minute he walked in he got a hit with the smell of fresh baked crust and fresh cut vegetables. It smelled good, "Give us about ten minutes, we'll clean up and be ready for dinner," he said taking another deep breath. He looked at Nita with his duffel still on his shoulder, she was smiling, "No worries, I still have to put the pizza in the oven, by the time you two get done cleaning up, the food should be ready too," she open the door to the oven and put both trays of pizza in. It sounded like she hadn't had dinner yet. He set his bag down near the sofa and made his way into the kitchen, "You haven't eaten yet?" He had to ask to confirm, she must be starving. He honestly didn't think that she'd wait for them, this late.
"Of course, not, I said on the phone that we'd all have dinner together, plus you know I don't like eating alone," she said, looking at him intently, "go and get cleaned up, you look like crap, I'm sure once you get some food in you, you'll look more alive," she finished while setting the oven-mit on side.
Siwon turned around and headed to the bathroom to clean up.
"What did she make?" Donghae asked, as he walked into the bathroom, Donghae was shirtless, he knew for a fact Nita would have a heart attack if she'd seen him or even both of them shirtless. He smiled to himself.
"Yah! You're not listening!" Donghae said, flicking some water at me.
"Miahn, she made pizza, it smells good," Siwon smiled to himself again, she had waited for them, "hurry up, she already has the pizza in the oven."
Within ten minutes, they were both out of the shower and dressed. They were sitting on the couch, and enjoying dinner together.
"You brought this and just warmed it in the oven, didn't you?" Donghae asked, it sounded suspicious, like he didn't believe she'd made it. He looked at Nita, she was clearly offended, "Of course not, I made this myself. You guys said, you wanted something made at home, I don't know very many Korean dishes, so I decided to make what I did know how to make," she finished with a sigh.
Apparently Donghae really couldn't believe she'd made the food, "You're saying you made this from scratch, like actually making the dough and stuff," the look on his face had surprise written all over it, Siwon had a hard time not laughing.
"Yea, everything's fresh, I made the dough this afternoon, cut all the veggies this morning, and cleaned the apartment in between doing those things. I can cook, American, Mexican, Indian, and some Italian foods pretty well, I just have to have the ingredients," she said proudly, while taking a piece of pizza.
Siwon decided he should join the conversation too, "So you're saying, that you can cook everything but Korean dishes?" he asked while taking a bit of the pizza in his plate.
"Yea, but I want to learn some Korean cooking too. I think it'll help, if I ever meet someone who only likes Korean food," she said while drinking her soda.
He wouldn't mind eating something different, frankly he was kind of tired of K-food, "I wouldn't mind if you didn't cook Korean dishes, we get enough of that when were out working," he said, looking at her, catching himself, "I'm not saying you shouldn't learn if you want to, but if you ever make anything for us again, we'd prefer everything but Korean," he finished with a smile, glad that he didn’t offend her in any way.
Nita smiled at him, he liked it when she smiled at him, "Okay, I'm sure I can manage that. So, how was it? Judging from the nearly empty second tray, you guys seemed to have liked it, right?" she sounded nervous, like she was waiting for a final judgement on her cooking.
"It was great!" apparently both of them picked up on her insecurity and answered at the same time, trying not to hurt her feelings. The food really was good, she had a great hands when it came to cooking, she merely smiled at the both of them, and picked up the two large pizza trays and made her way into the kitchen.
Donghae quickly picked up the plates we all had used and followed her.
Siwon followed the two of them into the kitchen when he heard Donghae, "You know we're being serious, that pizza was better than any I've tried out. It was delicious. Thank you," he set the plates down on the counter and gave her a back hug. Siwon immediately felt uncomfortable, but Nita looked content with the hug, "Seriously, Donghae, stop making her feel uncomfortable," he said quickly, then looked at her, she had tears in her eyes, he decided not to make a big deal out of it, he was sure it had something to do with her family, "and he's right, thank you. Here, why don't Donghae and I clean up, you can chill, I'm sure it won't take us too long, then we can start the movie together," he took the two pizza trays out of her hands and headed to the sink. From the corner of his eyes he saw her smile at them and turn around and walk out the kitchen.
"Was it just me, or did she look like she was about to start crying?" Donghae whispered while hunting for a dry dish towel.
"She was," Siwon said, "I don't know, maybe we reminded her of someone or something," he finished.
"You think?" Donghae asked, "Sometimes when she thinks we're not paying attention, she has a sad look on her face. Has she ever said anything about why she came here out of all the places in the world," he continued while drying the washed dishes.
"I'm sure if we ask, she'll tell us," Siwon said, as he finished washing the last dish.
"Should we ask her? You don't think she'll get upset?" Donghae asked, clearly worrying about her reaction.
"I don't know," was all Siwon could say, because he honestly didn't know how she would react.
She'd pretty much cleaned everything else before they'd gotten home so all they had to do was the dishes, which didn't take long, they both dried their hands and went into the living room.
Nita had taken the corner of the sectional, which meant Donghae was taking the shorter the side, so he could set his head on her shoulder. She'd told Donghae it was alright if he ever wanted to use her shoulder as a pillow, to Siwon that just sounded weird at the time, he didn't understand why she'd offered him her shoulder. If Donghae was going to use her shoulder, he was taking her lap. He promptly laid down on the longer part and set his head in her lap. She started caressing his head, like a mother would her child, as she reached for the remote and started the movie.
Not even a second later, they heard ruckus coming from the doorway, "Ahiego, you guys don't even lock the door, what if you got down to the dirty and someone walked in," Eunhyuk yelled playfully.
Siwon and Donghae shot up like a bullet from a gun. They hadn't expected them to crash their party of three, but indeed they had.
"What are you guys doing here," Siwon asked coldly, he'd clearly told them not to come, that it would be rude, but apparently they didn't care.
"We decided we wanted to meet our new neighbor," Ryeowook said playfully, looking at Nita.
Siwon followed Ryeowook's gaze, Nita's face was completely awestruck. He was in his half mind to start laughing. In that expression you could clearly see the fan girl, she looked so happy to see some of the members. After looking at her face he calmed down a little, she looked really happy to see them, not only happy but surprised as well.
"So where's the food, I'm hungry," Kyuhyun asked, Siwon glared at him, out of all the things to say, he had to say that.
Nita smiled, Siwon did a double take, she was smiling, wasn't she worried about the lack of food.
"No problem," she looked at Siwon and Donghae, apparently Donghae had the same question on his face that Siwon did, "you guys left the leftovers out right?", she asked them, they both nodded their heads, "there were four pieces left right?," she asked, again both of them nodded their heads, "Good," she looked at the others, still smiling, "you guys can start with that, I'll pull the other three out of the fridge, it'll take about twenty minutes tops, for the oven to pre-heat and then ten minutes for the pizza. I'm sure you all are okay for the waiting, right," now she had a smirk on her face, Siwon looked at the expressions on his group members faces, they were all surprised, just like Donghae and Siwon, they had wide eyes and their mouths wide open.
She looked at Siwon, "You really have no reason to be surprised, first of all you knew I spoke Korean from the get go, and second of all, you know I plan ahead. I wasn't sure if the others would be coming too, so I went ahead and made some extra ones in case they came too."
She turned around and made her way to the kitchen, just as quickly, the others followed her. The apartment still had the smell of fresh baked pizza and fresh cut veggies, and the guys looked hungry. He wondered if they waited two hours just to crash after they were done eating.
All six of them sat at the bar along the kitchen and watched her go to work. She quickly set the oven for pre heating, went to the fridge and pulling out all three pizza crust, making two more errands back to the fridge for pizza sauce and the veggies. She skillfully in one swift motion covered the dry crust in red pizza sauce, everyone's eyes were glued to her motions, it was as if she was dancing instead of cooking. She lightly sprinkled some cheese, then grabbed the bowl of veggies, just as gracefully spreading it over the pizza. Just as she was about to add the cheese to finish it off, the oven beeped letting her know that it was ready for use. She smiled, as she sprinkled the finishing touches of cheese on the third pizza. She gracefully lifted two trays on one arm and went to the oven, and glided it into the oven. Before she went to grab the last one, Shindong called out to her, "Could you add a little more on that last one?", he asked, she smiled and winked at him, making him blush. Siwon shook his head, leave it to her to make a grown man blush. She added a little bit more and set the tray in the oven. As she closed the oven door she took a bow, as to signal the end of her show.
The room was so quite you could hear a pin drop.
"Is that how you did the other two pizzas?", Donghae asked, shock registering on his face.
"Neh, back home I was usually cooking for nine guys at a time, so I had to be quick," she said looking at Donghae and leaning against the counter.
"Wow, nine guys, you really got around, didn't you." Kyuhyun said, it was more of a statement than a question, you'd think the guy didn't have a filter between his brain and mouth.
"Well, six of those nine were my younger brothers, I have one older adopted brother, and the other two guys are close friends with my older brother, so it's not what you think," Nita said, "You seem nastier in person, Mr. Kyuhyun, though you seem to drip with sexiness on camera, in reality, you're quite a jerk," she finished saying. At that moment the look on Kyuhyun's face was priceless. Siwon was sure, he'd never heard anyone voice that thought aloud to Kyuhyun, everyone thought it, but no one ever said it. Apparently Nita had no qualms about it.
"Well, don't we like to voice our opinion," Kyuhyun retorted back, clearly offended by her remark.
Nita didn't miss a beat, "I'm sure everyone has thought it at some point or another, they just don't say it. I don't care. I'm fan of Super Junior, as long as you don't mess up the harmony on audio, you can have whatever kind of personality that you want," she shrugged her shoulders and smirked.
"I think I'm in love," Eunhyuk said playfully, putting his hand over his heart, and fake fainting back.
Nita smiled at Eunhyuk, "I'm sure you'll survive the heartbreak," she giggled. She actually giggled, Siwon was awestruck. She never giggled in front of them, but apparently Eunhyuk could make any woman giggle.
"By the way, you make a really cute girlfriend you know," she said. Everyone looked at her questioningly, wondering what she was talking about, then Donghae burst out laughing. She looked at him and both of them exchanged a smile knowingly.
While laughing Donghae says, "She's talking about the one Chinese variety show we were on, where he played the role of a girlfriend", he finished in between laughs, while two others started laughing with him, Eunhyuk was turning a bright red. Again, Nita really was the only woman who could make a grown man blush.
After the laughter subsided, Shindong, asked a question, "So if you have a family in the states, why move to Korea?" Shindong's question was sincere and Siwon knew that he was honestly curious, but he was afraid of Nita's reaction.
She looked at Siwon and then Donghae, "I'm surprised those two haven't asked me that question yet. I was disowned and asked to leave. My father gave me some severance pay as a housekeeper, telling me to never come back. After spending a night at a friend's house, I decided I needed to leave the country."
"Why leave the country and not just move to a different town or state? Ryeowook asked, getting pulled into the conversation.
"Because my family is everywhere in the states, there wasn't a place that I could go, where I wouldn't meet someone who knew my parents or siblings", she answered frankly.
"Why Korea and not London or Paris?" Eunhyuk asked.
"I have family in both London and Paris, it would have been tricky not to accidently run into them, that part of the family actually has very busy lives, they travel a lot not only around their respective country but around the world," she said, Siwon couldn't tell if she was upset about the sudden Q and A or not, she looked like she was okay.
"Why were you disowned, why did your parents kick you out?" Kyuhyun asked, Siwon knew the answer to this question, but he didn't think Nita wanted to talk about the whys of her situation, he looked at her, silently asking her if she needed his help. She just looked at him, smiled and tilted her head down just nudge. He took that to mean that she was okay.
"They didn't approve of the relationship I was in." She answered clearly, without giving anything away.
"Then why not live with the boyfriend? Did he dump you after your family kicked you out?" Kyuhyun, Siwon wanted to punch him, now there was no doubt in Siwon's mind that he didn't have a filter between his brain and mouth. From the looks of it Donghae and the others felt the same way.
"My first judgement of you wasn't wrong, was it. My father has connections, he could have made my ex-boyfriends' life a living hell, if had gone to him. It was safer for them if I wasn't close by," she answered, she bent down to check on the pizza, and smiled coming back to stand, "it's done, that really didn't take long."
She didn't waste any time, she brought out the three pizzas, cut them and served the four guys. Each guy took their first bit and looked at her with saucer sized eyes.
"What, is something wrong?" she asked, worry clear on her face. Siwon would bet anything that she was thinking she messed up somewhere.
"Wow," one person said.
"OMO!! It's delicious!!" yelled another.
"Delicious." said someone else.
"It's okay," said, Kyuhyun, sometimes his responses are predictable. He really did have a hard time being honest, from the way he was eating the rest, it looked like he really liked it.
"I'm sure you guys are overreacting because it's been a while since you had something home cooked," she said, leaning against the counter.
"Will you invite all of us the next time you make something, I'd love to come back," Ryeowook spoke up, from all the mmmm's going around, the others nodded in agreement even Kyuhyun.
"Sure, I wouldn't mind, just so you know. I don't know how to cook Korean." she said, Siwon smiled, he knew the others didn't care, food was food.
"No problem, we get plenty of that," Ryeowook relied excited, while once again the other's nodded in agreement.
While the other's ate their late dinner, Siwon couldn't help but think how quickly life can bring so much change to one person's life.
