The Roller Coaster That Is Life

Chapter 16: Loves Remembered

G-Dragon's POV

SEVERAL HOURS LATER . . . . . . . . . .

They had ended the day late and were just walking into the house. Jiyong could hear conversation in the living room and water running in the kitchen. He wondered who was visiting and made his way to the living room. He was surprised to find Siwon, Kai, Taecyeon and Guk Bang lying on the couch.
"What brings you guys here," he asked them. They all had their eyes closed as if they were taking a nap.
"Dinner," Taecyeon said, with his eyes still closed and head leaning on the edge of the sofa.
" GD Hyung," Kai immediately got up and bowed hearing Jiyong's voice.
"Anneyohasyeo," Guk Bang got up at a much slower pace and bowed.
They were all in a zombie state. What was the big idea?
Nita walked towards them, wiping her hands on a dish towel.
"You guys hungry," she asked looking at them all. She looked tired but she was still smiling at them.
On que his stomach started rumbling. *****GRRRRRRRRRR****
She looked at him, "Well, that answers that," she immediately turned around and started walking towards the kitchen again, "kaja, you guys can eat and talk in the kitchen."
Seungri made his way to her and wrapped his arm around her shoulder, "What did you make," he asked her.
Like a ghost Siwon was on the other side of her, moving Seungri's arm, "Salsa Verde Chicken Tacos," he replied.
"How long have you guys been here," Daesung asked, still talking to Guk Bang.
"They've been here for about two hours now. We decided to have dinner here, since it was so late and I already had dinner made, plus more the merrier," she said.
Jiyong couldn't help but wonder if she had invited them because she didn't like eating alone or if she invited them because she liked their company. Maybe it was both, he thought. Remembering that today was the final day of her shoot with Designer-nim he asked, "You had to finish the shoot today, right?"
"Yea, it took longer than I thought. I figured it would have ended a bit early since I had finished my individuals early, but these guys were running late," she motioned with her head towards the others who were taking a seat at the bar surrounding the kitchen.
Nita was making her way around the kitchen nearly running into him. She was looking exhausted, he wondered if she had gotten any sleep the night before. She must have been excited or nervous or both, he thought. She started pulling out plates and bowls, making her way to the fridge and pulling containers out. She set them on the counter and almost tripped over her own two feet while walking back. "You look tried," Jiyong said.
"I'm fine, strong as an ox," she said to him. The surprised expression wasn't unnoticed by Jiyong. She looked tried and a little bit pale. Her eyes were saying they needed rest and her body language said she was going to pass out any minute.
Jiyong went to her, "Here, why don't you go to bed. We'll make sure to clean up after we get done eating, I promise," he said all the while pushing her towards the stairs.
"He's right, you look like you're about to fall over any minute," T.O.P stated, getting up and coming towards them. Jiyong and T.O.P began pushing her in the direction of the stairs. She wouldn't argue if it was more than one person telling her go rest.
"Okay, okay, I'm going. I need to take care of something before I go to bed. Can I do that," she asked looking at Jiyong and T.O.P. If looks could kill, Jiyong thought, that one would have murdered them both. They just stood there looking at her, if she wasn't going to listen, he was going to throw her over his shoulders and take her himself. He might look small and delicate as a fan once put it, but he had strength.
"I need to talk to Siwon," she said as a way of explanation. They still looked at her, "ALONE," she emphasized. They weren't going to back down on this. If they left her alone, she would start fixing everyone's plate and handing it out. They weren't children who constantly needed to be feed by their parents, though they did enjoy the care she took of them. Jiyong smiled she did take good care of them, going beyond what an assistant manager had to do.
"Can I talk to you upstairs," she asked Siwon, looking at him. It was not clicking for Jiyong what was going on. Why did she have talk to Siwon? Weren't they not talking to each other? Siwon nodded and walked towards the stairs with her. As they made their way to the stairs Jiyong's eyes followed them, till he couldn't see them anymore.
"What' s wrong," Kai asked walking up and searching for what Jiyong was looking at.
"Aamaguthu aniya," Jiyong quickly replied, as he made his way back to the his seat.
"This is good," Seungri replied taking another bite of his taco.
"Tell us something we don't know," Youngbae said.
There was no getting around that, Nita always made good food. Jiyong's mind kept on wandering off to Nita as the conversation went on in the kitchen. While everyone was talking, he tried to stay in and out of the conversation. He couldn't help but wonder what was going on upstairs. Why did she need to talk to him? What was it that couldn't be said in front of everyone?
"Why aren't you eating?" T.O.P asked. Jiyong was brought off his train of thought.
"Huh," Jiyong hadn't been paying attention, T.O.P motioned to Jiyong's plate that now had a soggy taco on it. He nodded, picking up the taco and taking a bite. Even though it was soggy it was still good.
"You done," Daesung asked, picking up other plates, Jiyong nodded his head.
"We've all been in a relationship at one point or another right," he asked no one in particular. They all looked at him. He knew it was a change of subject.
"What's with that question," Taecyeon asked.
"Just curious," Jiyong answered back.
They were all making their way into the living room now. Everyone sat down.
"I think first loves have major impact on our loves after them," Guk Bang answered.
First loves? "Why?" asked Jiyong, needing clarification.
"First loves are the first ones we learn to be sensitive for. They are the most important to us. We want them to like us so we tend to pay attention to everything they do and say," He answered.
"What are your thoughts on it," T.O.P asked.
Jiyong hadn't really thought about first loves in while. He had one. Everyone had one, but he always wondered if you could have more than one first love. Only because he couldn't figure out who was his first love.
"Can you have more than one first love," he asked. He looked around, apparently that was a dumb question. They were looks of 'wtf' coming his way.
He looked towards the stairs, when he heard footsteps. Nita was making her towards them again. This time she didn't look as tried and she kept smiling. What irked him the most was Siwon's smile behind her. He had a 'cat-got-the-canary' smile. Siwon's whole demeanor irked Jiyong. The guy spent too much time with Nita for his liking.
"What's wrong," he asked her, not sure if something was wrong.
"Nothing, just don't feel like sleeping right now, figured I'd chill with you guys for a little bit," she replied smiling. What had changed, she went up looking like she was ready to pass out, now there was color in her face, and a sparkle to her eyes. Was a small talk with Siwon all it took to bring her back to life. Jiyong looked at Siwon, he was jealous of the guy. Siwon didn't have to try that hard to make her happy, it just happened.
"So what are you guys talking about," she set herself on the middle cushion and made herself comfortable.
"We were talking about first loves," Guk Bang answered smiling at her.
Jiyong looked at the others, then Kai said, "we were wondering if you had a first love." His smirk was seen by everyone. The kid knew how to read people. They all had that thought in the back of their heads, at least Jiyong did.
Nita's look was priceless, a cross between 'are-you-dumb' and 'seriously', she relaxed her expression and smiled, "everyone has a first love, I have my mystery man," she answered, her smiling growing. Wait, what?
"Mystery man," Jiyong exclaimed, he hadn't been the only surprised.
"Mystery man, I met him in San Francisco, when my family and I had vacationed there," she said. Jiyong was overly curious about this 'mystery man', what had he done to attain that nickname and why was she smiling like that when she spoke of him for just a couple of seconds. Her smile said that just thinking about him, made her happy. Jiyong was jealous.
Seungri was whispering something to Daesung and both looked over at Jiyong. Had they noticed his reaction, he wondered, schooling his expression again. If they had seen a reaction then the others would probably notice too.
"We want the story," Seungri excitedly announced. Nita looked around the room, noticing everyone else getting comfortable, she started cozying into her spot as well.
"Ahhhh, where do I start," she asked. From the beginning? Jiyong wondered. As she got comfortable, Jiyong noticed her tattoo that snaked down her leg. He remembered feeling the difference in texture on her skin the night he'd found her passed out on the sofa with Gaho. And again during the photo shoot, his gaze swept over the others, had they felt the difference too. She hadn't given them the details of the story that caused her scars, but Jiyong couldn't help thinking there was more to the story then she was telling.
"From the beginning," Kai asked, once again the thought being taken for Jiyong.
"Wherever you want," Daesung said.
"Just tell us," Seungri whined, trying to act cute, but completely failing in Jiyong's opinion. Nita didn't think so, because she was smiling and tilting her head to the side looking at him. A signature gesture that females did when they found something or someone cute.
"I'm curious, so where ever you want," Jiyong said, trying to get her attention, she looked at him for like a second, before Guk Bang said, "Da du."
He really didn't have to say anything, Jiyong thought, she was going to tell them the story anyway. What was bothering Jiyong most about Guk Bang was the fact that the guy was always sending glances her way. He always smiled when she looked at him. When he shifted in his spot he tended to flex a lot, showing off his muscles. He had been trying to attract Nita's attention since Jiyong had come home.
Nita's was looking around the room, so she didn't notice the smile or glances, but every once in a while she'd glance his way when he was fake stretching or moving around on the sofa. Which only annoyed Jiyong more, he tried not to show it, but failed miserably at it. Her eyes landed on Jiyong and her expression turned into a questioning one. Jiyong smiled hoping that would easier her worry. She smiled back and began her story.
"Well, we were on vacation in San Francisco for a summer. We had spent the beginning of the week site seeing with the whole family. Two days before we were going back home, my mother and I had an argument, about how I never told anyone where I was going or what I was doing. So as an act of rebellion, the following morning, I got dressed and walked out of the hotel. Hailing a cab I had decided to spend the day at the Fishermen's Wharf. The morning was nice, with the cool air coming in for the sea. I had spent most of the morning walking up and down the walkway along the shore, it was very relaxing. Around the afternoon, I made my way into this big exhibit. In the building they had displays of old school trains and the creepy fortune tellers in glass boxes. I had spent a good amount of time circling around and noticing different things as I moved around. On my fourth time around I noticed this guy, looking at one of the creepy fortune tellers and digging through his pockets looking for change to use in the machine. I had already pulled a fortune from that machine and still had some change left over, so I tapped him on the shoulder and handed him the change. Smiling he had thanked me and I went back to looking at the other displays. Before I knew it, he'd come looking for me. We had instantly clicked, we started talking about the day, what we were doing in San Francisco, without us realizing it we were talking about our personal lives. I remember asking him why he loved music so much, and he said, I quote, 'music is my life, I don't know what I'd do without it.' I couldn't help but envy him a bit. He knew exactly what he wanted out life, and there I was, someone who didn't even know what she wanted for dinner."
It took Jiyong a couple of minutes to let that story sink in. The story was familiar to him, not because he'd heard it before, but because he'd had a similar experience. Surprisingly he'd been at the same exhibit she was talking about. He looked at Nita, his gaze boring into her, checking if any part of her resembled the girl he had met there. But why would she be that girl. They were completely different, they might have lived in the same country, but what are the chances that Jiyong would meet her after so long. Jiyong decided he shouldn't worry about the likelihood of Nita being the same girl he'd met. But a part of him couldn't help but wonder.
