The Roller Coaster That Is Life

Chapter 15: A New Direction . . . . . . Maybe?

G-Dragon's POV

The day was going by at a turtle's pace or would a snail's pace fit the bill. Jiyong wondered. He had spent most of his time in the recording studio working on the song he was having trouble with. Thanks to his latest photo shoot he had been inspired. Sex was a wonderful thing, too bad it hadn't gotten that far.
"What's with the smirk," Youngbae asked giving him a suspicious look.
"Just thinking how easy this song was to finish," Jiyong answered still thinking about Nita.
"I'm sorry, what did you just say," T.O.P asked incredulously, "if I remember correctly you were having issues with it and your frustrations could be seen," T.O.P said sporting his signature questioning expression.
"I think he came across some inspiration," Daesung said smiling as he stretched out on the faux leather futon.
Jiyong smiled, "You could say that." Going back to the tuning instrument and tweaking the song a little bit more.
"It sounds like her hyung," Seungri stated as he sat down in the chair next to him.
Jiyong replayed the instrumental section again, wanting to get it right. He listened carefully, just listening to the music reminded him of her. Seungri was right, it did sound like her.
After coming back from the photo shoot, he had spent a good part of the next day revising the music of the song. He must have thought of Nita the entire time. He could play this music while she was in the kitchen or just chilling on the sofa in the living room and it would fit her personality to a 'T.'
A head popped in through the door, "Sangnim wants to see all of you," the manager said.
They all looked at each other, Daesung and T.O.P shrugged their shoulders and they all headed to Yang Sangnim's office.
Walking into his office, they all bowed and sat down on the chairs in front of Yang Sangnim's desk. Jiyong wondered what was going on for him to call all of them into their office.
"Did something happen, Sangnim," Daesung asked. They were all wondering the same thing.
"Ani," Yang Sangnim answered, he was sorting through some of files on his desk as he answered the question.
They looked at each other starting to get worried. Yang Sangnim set the files aside and looked at them.
"I wanted discuss an idea I had," he said to them.
They looked at him questioningly.
"Have you finished the song you were having trouble with," Sangnim asked Jiyong.
Jiyong smiled and nodded his head, "It still needs some minor changes, but it's more or less done."
Yang Sangnim looked at Youngbae, "What about the song you were working on," he asked.
"The music and lyrics are set, it sounds good. I've been having trouble with the concept of it, so I'm still working on that," Youngbae answered.
Yang Sangnim nodded his head and looked at T.O.P, "How's your shooting for the movie going," he asked T.O.P.
"Good, Sangnim," T.O.P answered bluntly.
"Did you do what I asked of you," Sangnim asked. Jiyong wanted to ask what they were talking about, because he was lost.
"I did," T.O.P answered.
"And," Sangnim questioned. What the hell were they talking about.
"She can act," T.O.P answered. Act, Jiyong thought, what does that have to do with anything.
"Good," Sangnim said smiling. What was up with him? Jiyong began wondering what was the reason for him to call them into his office.
"Now, about the two videos and their concepts. . . . . . . ." Sangnim looked at each person, "what if Nita did the concept and choreography for it."
"Why," Youngbae asked.
"I think she has potential," Yang Sangnim answered back.
"Can she manage it," Seungri asked looking concerned.
"She does stay busy with the rescheduling and her jobs," Daesung added sounding skeptical.
"She's already showed me a mild break down of the upcoming month, since the schedule is subject to change, she doesn't announce it till the week's end," Sangnim stated matter-of-factly, "as for her jobs, she been managing her schedule too. Plus she manages to schedule everyone sufficient time off too."
Yang Sangnim had a point, but did Nita want to do it. Jiyong wondered. He was sure she could manage it, but did she understand the degree of work she had to do.
"What are you thinking," Jiyong asked Yang Sangnim.
"I'm thinking she has potential," Yang Sangnim answered.
Jiyong looked at T.O.P questioningly.
"He wouldn't be saying that if he didn't think it was true," T.O.P stated, "he's seen something we haven't yet."
T.O.P looked at Yang Sangnim questioningly. Jiyong couldn't help thinking back to the shooting when T.O.P had questioned Sangnim's motives. Jiyong looked at Yang Sangnim again. He figured there was a reason for it.
"If she doesn't have a problem, I don't see why we couldn't have her work with us. She already kind of does," Jiyong answered.
"She seems like she could handle it," T.O.P added.
"Can anyone tell me, how well her dancing is," Youngbae asked, "if she can't dance then how's the choreography going to turn out," he was getting frustrated.
"Do you think Sangnim would ask, if he thought she couldn't dance," T.O.P asked Youngbae.
Youngbae looked down, probably feeling ashamed for not considering the thought. He was always respectful to everyone, but when it came to his work he became extremely passionate about it.
"Fair enough," Yang Sangnim said, "why don't you watch her and then let me know what you think."
"What about you two," he asked looking at Seungri and Daesung.
"I agree with Youngbae, we've worked hard on this upcoming album. I don't want it to disappoint fans, she has to be up to par," Daesung said.
"I like her a lot, but I agree with the Daesung and Youngbae. She's good at managing the schedules, we've never seen her dance, sing, or act." Seungri added.
"You're doubting T.O.P's evaluation," Jiyong asked. They were just piling evidence against her. The least they should do is ask her.
"You want her to ruin it," Youngbae asked defensively.
"And if she doesn't," T.O.P asked, taking the words out of Jiyong's mouth.
"She's pretty that doesn't mean she's good at everything," Daesung retorted.
"You boys need to calm down," Yang Sangnim interjected, trying to diffuse the argument, "it was just a thought, we still have time for planning and concept management," he said, calmly looking at them, "do me a favor, why don't you boys observe her. Follow her on one of your days off. Let me warn you, she's an early raiser, so be prepared. I want you guys to consider it seriously. I wouldn't propose something I didn't see a benefit in," he finished.
"That's all I'm saying, we need to see what she can do, before we jump right into it," Youngbae said defensively.
Jiyong looked at his bandmate and friend. Why was he being so villian-like about this? Jiyong understood the issue about work being comprised, but he seemed to be totally against the idea of Nita working with them.
"You guys can go back to whatever you were doing," Yang Sangnim said, grabbing the stack of files he had set aside.
"Jiyong-ah," he said, "I need you to stay, I still have something I want to talk to you about."
As the others walked out, Jiyong went back to his seat.
"I want you to keep an eye on Nita," he said, looking at the file, "let me ask you a question," he said, now looking up from the file, "how much do you know about Nita," he asked.
The question took Jiyong by surprise, he hadn't expected that. "Not much, other than she was kicked out by her family, she doesn't like eating alone, and she knows Super Junior," Jiyong answered.
"I'm not referring to her background, I'm asking how you see her as a person," Yang Sangnim asked.
"She's hardworking, pays more attention to our health then we do, she's timely about everything, she can make anyone relax around her, people are quick to notice her work ethic," Jiyong answered.
"So you see, why I proposed the idea," Yang Sangnim asked.
Jiyong couldn't make sense of what Sangnim was trying to say. He was confused. It must have shown on his face, because the next thing Yang Sangnim said was, "Forget I asked, just keep an eye on her, okay," he said.
"I will," Jiyong answered as he got up to leave.
On his way back to the studio, Jiyong wondered why Sangnim would propose an idea like that. Did he plan to add a female member to Big Bang. The female fans would have a heart attack, they wouldn't be happy about it either. But if he was going to add a new member, why just ask about concept and choreography, he should've also asked about singing. They were a band after all. Then what was it about the acting, why ask T.O.P to check her out if she was going to be a new member. Maybe T.O.P had been right about Yang Sangnim wanting to something from Nita.
Jiyong walked back into the studio and went back to his chair.
"She had sung that first night we moved to the house," T.O.P said.
"She was off key and off beat," Daesung said.
"Her dancing was off too," Youngbae added.
"She almost tripped, if one of the others hadn't grabbed her," Seungri sprinkled salt on the wound.
"When did Sangnim say anything about singing," Jiyong retorted. He was tired of hearing all the negative, "he asked about the technical part of the job and her acting. If he wasn't sure she couldn't do it, then he wouldn't have mentioned it."
Jiyong was tired of this, that first night, she was enjoying herself. How could they judge that as a performance?
"Let's get back to work, we'll do as Sangnim said, we'll see her potential. We still have time, if she isn't as good as you want her to be, we can do it ourselves," Jiyong said turning back to the sound console and playing the melody again.
No one said anything after that. Jiyong knew he was in trouble, he was immediately getting defensive of Nita when he heard criticism about her. His feelings were getting stronger, he was reacting to her even when she wasn't around. He should have guessed, when he was able to finish a song he hadn't been able to finish for months, in just days. She was quickly becoming a part him and that worried him. Fast things never lasted long, they usually came to an end just as quickly as they started. He was going to have to control himself.
