Danger

Prologue

My eyes were held wide, blood trickling down my hand as it shook in fear. The soaked red dagger slid to the floor as tears swelled in my eyes. I looked up at my handiwork, the co-owner of Hydon, my first victim- his body glittering the floor in a few dozen pieces and his severed head clung to the floor, his eye sockets completely cleaned out as I had scooped them out while he was still alive. My eyes slowly narrowed as my dumbstruck lips curled into a wicked smile.
I could soon hear the roar of a siren and grabbed the knife and my backpack which I had carelessly packed my school uniform into before retreating to the window and flung into the air to land in a garbage truck not 15 feet below me. I gathered my breath and began jolting down the street, removing my leather gloves and hair cap and tossing them into a gutter about 10 blocks down along with the knife, careful to check for any witnesses. My smile lingered for a few moments longer as I listened to the ongoing sirens, curious of what I could accomplish next.

-5 Minutes Later-
We entered the building as the stench of rotting flesh clung to my nose. I pulled my hair into a tight bun and pulled on rubber gloves to examine the body of my dismembered uncle. My father clung to the air around me, searching the spots I neglected to myself before he called me to the only open window in the office and held out a torn piece of beat red silk which I concealed in a tight Ziploc bag and handed it to one of the other officers to take to analysis.
We continued to desperately search the office as I checked on my father on countless occasions to see if he was doing alright processing the situation, "They were after the company." He said, the silence still finding a way to linger in the air.
I had no response to offer him, my heart pained at the thought of my dear uncle gone and without good cause. My father was the closest to him so I knew I had no right to ponder over it for myself but instead comfort my dad in the only way we knew how, by ignoring the subject completely.

After headquarter had analyzed the cloth and the stench of blood had finally stopped making my stomach churn we returned to the lab to receive the news. The only sounds audible in the car ride were the echoes of the busy city as it continued with it's daily routine. Once we arrived the cold winter breeze was the first to greet us on our way into the tall corporate office which my father had rented as a secret investigation hideout. Tim, our American special analysis, greeted us once inside the building and began spouting his usual mathematical equations in which he finished with the information me and my father only really listened to-what the piece of cloth meant to our investigation.
"It's a school uniform." Tim smirked at his announcement, "The piece of cloth belongs to Kaeyok High School-the most prestigious s-" my father cut him a side glance before turning to me, "Hye Su, contact Chung Hei to get you into the school. Starting tomorrow you're a High School student at Kaeyok High." He stated bluntly before continuing to his office, leaving me and Tim in the silent hallway, "Is he always like that?"
"No, not really." I let out a heavy sigh before pulling out my phone and walking out of the building.
