Chain of Lies

The dew of fresh spring morning covered the air and city, as the sun greeted me warmly that morning. It was a morning that I would never forget because it would that last that I ever had like that. The smell of spring flowers entice my nose as I rode the bus going along my way happily. I hadn't visit my father in the longest time. I often wonder if he was lonely without me since I left to College. My father was a man of little words and he didn't like to talk about my mother or his business. But who was I to bring that up when my father was happy?

What felt like seconds was really a two hour long bus ride. As the bus stopped, I got out quickly hauling my luggage behind me. My heart beats faster as I get closer to my home. Sweet memories played all around me as I walked closer to my home of twenty plus years. I find my pace quickens with each beat of my heart.

"I'm home!" I exclaim opening the door and bending over quickly to take off my sneakers. As I look over slightly realizing that there were other people in our home."I'm sorry, I didn't realize we had guests." I said and got up bowing to greet them. I dared not look into their eyes as I stared at their feet. Suddenly I notice a dark red fluid seep on the floor. I slowly followed the trail of red fluid... to my horror I see lifeless on the floor my father. I gasp as tears filled my eyes. My father was in his favorite dark blue track suit. His hand over his heart where the blood poured from. I couldn't believe my eyes as my legs gave out and I fell to my knee. "F-f-father..." I barely made out words to say.

Before I realized one of the men pulled my long hair with one hand. The pain was awful but not as painful as what my heart felt. "What do we do with this one?" A man asked and walked over. The men around were cover in my father's blood their knives stain with his blood. Fear finally sets in after disbelief of my loss of my father. I'm scared... I don't want to die. Tears stream down my cheeks. "Let got of me, you murders!!!!" I yelled trying to force the mans hand out of my hair. "Quiet you!" One yelled and pointed the knife to my throat cutting it slightly. The tiny cut stung, I stopped moving... I froze... I can't die... tears fell and poured. I looked over at my father, but I knew... I knew that he was gone. As I quietly grieved that loss of father, one of the men, took out his cellphone... "We didn't realize his daughter was here." I listen as he spoke. "Okay, got it then boss, We'll take her to the market then." He hung up, then gesture the men around. They grabbed my arm and legs detaining me. "Let go of me, please. Please." I cried.
But I should have known better that my pleads were not heard instead I welcome with a knife at my throat again. "Come with us, nicely or we can just kill you here also." One scoffed and spat on the floor. I never felt so much fear in my life before. What is going to become of me. Questions filled my head but no answers ever came. The men escorted me to a large black van, I slide in and so did the rest of the strangers. I didn't know what was coming but I knew then and there that my normal life was over. Things would never be the same anymore. The image of my father lifeless flash back and forth in my head. This is all a nightmare, right? As the car drove off, my hands clasps tightly together. I didn't know where I was going but at that point I didn't have a choice.
