~Chanyeol’s POV~
I had not told anyone my secret, not even Baekhyun, my closest and dearest (and sexiest) friend (BAEKYEOL FOREVER). This secret haunted me, and was killing to come out. And every time I looked at them, emotions filled my whole body. Sometimes it was anger, other times sadness, but other times both. It turned me inhumane, like a wolf wanting to kill.
When surrounded by others, I do a good job of hiding my feelings, but alone, I turn into a wild beast. It’s becoming harder to control as time passes and they get closer.
Although it was break, the whole week had so far been upsetting. Everyday, they would spend time together, and jealousy took over. But it was the last day of break where I truly broke.
~Minnie’s POV~
This week had been the best in my life, spent with SUGAR and Kai. I could finally feel what it feels like to be love, and I sure enjoy it. As the days passed by, I started to get closer and closer to Kai. He is no doubt the most honest, caring, and nicest boy I had ever met.
The last day of break was definitely the best. Kai, Sehun, Summer and I spent a day at the beach, relaxing in the sun. Both Sehun and Kai were shirtless, making the view even more enjoyable. After a picnic on the beach and riding horses, we got back to the dorm.
Kai walked me to my dorm and just as I was about to enter, he grabbed my arm. “Hey, Minnie. Since it’s the last day of break, want to eat dinner together? Just the two of us,” Kai asked.
I smiled and said, “I’d love to.”
“I’ll pick you up at 7:30, and make sure to dress formally.”
I raised my eyebrows. “Formally? Kai, where exactly are we going?”
“You’ll see.”
~2 hours later~
I dressed in a short, black dress with floral patterns and a thin black belt, a large gold ring, a golden necklace, and black pumps.
At 7:30 sharp, my eyes widened as a black limousine pulled up to the SM building. The driver came out and opened the door. Kai was sitting inside, looking handsome in a white and black suit with a black bowtie.
He flashed a smile, and said, “Welcome, my lady. Prepare for the best night of your life.”
I got in the car, and we rode for a while to a humongous restaurant. “Is this your dad’s restaurant too?” I teased. Kai elbowed me. “Shut up Minnie.” He pressed his lips to mine.
Kai opened the car door for me, and held out his hand. I took it and together we stepped in the restaurant’s revolving door. I smiled, remembering how when I was younger I would run around in the revolving doors until I got caught by my parents or an employee.
Immediately, a waitress bowed to us and said, “Welcome Jongin-ssi and Min Rin-ssi.” She led us to a special part of the restaurant where the lights were more dimmed, and there were only adults. The waitress bowed again and said, “Please enjoy your meal.”
“Did I mention, you look even more beautiful than usual, if that’s possible,” Kai said as we sat down.
I blushed and said, “Thanks, and you look very handsome in a suit.”
Kai smiled at me and reached for my hand over the table. I quickly took it and squeezed it hard.
“Wait, I have something to give you,” Kai said.
I released his hand, and he reached in his pocket. He pulled out a small black box and handed it to me.
I opened the box, and inside was a diamond-studded letter M on a necklace. I gasped, and almost cried. No one had ever given me anything so beautiful. Kai gently put the necklace on me, and I kissed him just as he finished.
“I love you,” I whispered. Kai grinned. “I love you too.”
Kai called for a waiter, and ordered a large bowl of soomdubu jiggae (tofu soup), some hoeddeok (sweet syrupy pancakes) as appetizers, yangnyeom tongdak (seasoned fried chicken), and a plate of bulgogi (marinated beef BBQ).
They quickly dug in as the dishes arrived.
~Chanyeol’s POV~
I sat down, tired and stressed. Everyday was worse and worse. I was on the verge of depression. I just wished that she would love me like she loved him.
I ate dinner alone at a restaurant not far away from the Exo dorms, not wanting to talk to the other Exo members. When I was eating, I suddenly heard a familiar voice.
I looked to the right, and a few tables down I could make out Minnie, and she was with Kai. I watched as Kai gave her a box, which she opened to reveal a necklace. I clenched my teeth as Kai gently placed the necklace around her neck.
I looked back down at my food, trying my hardest not to look back at them. But I was drawn to them. I watched as Minnie laughed at almost everything that Kai said, and how her eyes shone with love when she looked at him. And then she said the words that I wanted to hear from her to me ever since I met her.
“I love you.”
Although she said it quietly, I could clearly hear each and every word, and pain struck my heart. I dreaded to hear her say those three simple words to someone else, and it hurt even more because he was one of my best friends.
It was too much. I stood up, almost sweeping all of the plates off the table.
Kai looked up at the loud noise and smiled when he saw me. “Hey Channie! I haven’t seen you all day. Where have you been?”
I smirked. “That’s Chanyeol hyung to you.”
He laughed, like he thought I was joking. “Ok, Channie.”
I growled. “I said, Chanyeol hyung.”
His expression darkened. “What’s gotten into you?”
I turned around. “Nothing,” I said quietly.
“You were always our Happy Yoda. Chanyeol, if there’s anything wrong, I want to help.”
“You can’t help with anything,” I said harshly. My voice was dark and sounded cruel. I knew that I shouldn’t be so mean, but I couldn’t control my emotions.
I dug in my wallet and found some cash, left it on the table and walked out the door.
I drove to the only place I felt that I could forget what had happened. The bar was full of people at this time. Loud noises filled my head as I headed over to the counter.
I ordered two cocktails with a glass of vodka. Usually, I can only drink a glass of wine. Soon, I was drunk and had forgotten most of what had happened in the past few hours. I blindly stumbled out of the bar and somehow made my way to my car. I banged on the door 10 or 20 times, and realized that I needed my car keys. I fumbled around and found my car keys in my pocket. I hit a random button and my car flashed. I quickly hit another button, and my car unlocked. My vision became blurry.
I got into the driver’s seat and slammed the door. I started the car, and quickly drove out of the parking lot, almost crashing into a street light.
I drove and drove, not knowing where I was going. I didn’t care. Everything was blurry, my thoughts, my vision, everything. As I curved around the corner, I saw two lights. I guessed they were just an effect of my drunk state, and I drove forward.
Suddenly, everything went black.
