When I opened my eyes I was in a hospital room. There was an I.V dripping into my arm. A familiar face was looking at me. It was my friend Mina, she was a nurse at this hospital.
- How are you feeling ? She said with a concerned look.
- What happened to me?
- Your body couldn't take all the fasting and exhaustion anymore. You've been out for 7 hours already.
- How did I come here?
- An ambulance brought you in but you were all by yourself.
- But how did they know I collapsed?
- I think someone called the emergency.
- Was it my mother? I guessed.
- I don't think so. She's still on her tour around the world...Don’t you remember that she didn't bother to call you even when she knew what happened!!
Right... My mother found a good way to spend all my deceased father savings... I think her dreamy tour made her forget that she's a mother.
- Then who was cooking for me all this time and called the emergency? I was home alone...
- I don't know... But if you ask the hospital they'll give you the phone call's record. I'm sure it's one of your coworkers or relatives.
I didn't have many relatives and I'm not that close to my coworkers. I was feeling uneasy about this. I really needed to hear that record.
- When am I being discharged?
- Now, if you want to...
- Good then ...
She helped me get out of bed. I was feeling slightly better but dizzy.
I changed into my black dress, again, and went directly to the reception, discharged myself and asked for the call's information. They told me to wait for a while.
I walked through the hall leading to the waiting room. That's when memories started surfacing.

Flashbacks

I was following the doctor as we were heading to the morgue. My legs felt heavier with every step I took.
His words were still ringing in my ears, words that I couldn't believe, words that I didn't want to believe... I was wishing so hard for it to be a mistake, But it wasn't.
The cold body that was lying in front of me, covered with bruises, was no other but him.
His handsome face was so pale. There was a wound in his left cheek and another one, deeper and uglier, on the side of his forehead .
My hand layed on his damaged cheek
and then run to the blue marks on his chest. I couldn't feel his heartbeats anymore...
A lifeless body, that's what it was...
Afterwards there was a lot of crying, screaming and fainting...

A hand rested on my shoulder and brought me back to my sense.
- So you were here!
- Where else could I be?!
- I got your record, She said handing me a CD.
- What about the phone number?
- It turned out that it was your phone number. I really can't understand why you're making it into a big deal.
- I don't know, I just have a bad feeling about it.
- Anyways... Do you wanna go out tonight and have fun? It's been awhile since we last spent time together.
- I'm not in the mood today and I'm so exhausted... Maybe next time?! I say with a faint smile.
- Okay... Although I don't believe you. I'm going back to work then, call me if anything happens... And at least pick up your phone when someone calls if you're not going to open the door when someone knocks..
I nodded while smiling. So if it wasn't her nor my mother then who else could it be?!

As soon as I got home I turned on my CD player to listen to the recording.
I pushed the play button, and a manly voice came out: "...Please we need an ambulance! A woman fainted and she's not responding... she's 25 years old..."
"Weird"...This man knew my age, my health condition and even the exact house address... "I THINK I KNOW THIS VOICE"...

I pressed the replay button and turned up the volume... His tone was unsteady as if he was panicking, just like someone I knew really well...
This voice, I thought I'll NEVER hear it again...EVER...
